Disappointing Personal Training…
Disappointing Personal Training Experience - Proceed with Caution
The name of the Personal Trainer that I was assigned to was Destiny. She is a very Unreliable, Untrustworthy and Dishonest person and I feel compelled to share my experience with the personal training services at 24 Hour Fitness in Downey, CA to help others make an informed decision. My experience has been consistently disappointing on multiple levels:
Key Issues:
• Poor Communication: Repeated instances of unreturned calls and lack of follow-up
• Unreliable Service: Trainers failed to deliver on promised services
• Customer Service Concerns: Multiple attempts to address issues went unresolved
• Training Program: Did not meet professional standards or expectations
The personal training program fell significantly short of expectations. Despite multiple attempts to address these concerns, there was no improvement in communication or service quality. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend researching alternative fitness facilities, particularly if you're interested in personal training services.
Pros:
- Convenient location
Cons:
- Unreliable communication
- Poor customer service
- Lack of professional accountability
- Unfulfilled commitments
- Inconsistent training experience
I would strongly advise potential clients to thoroughly research their options and consider other facilities for personal training services.
24 hour fitness cleanliness issues
24 hour fitness a little while back, fired thier nightly cleaning crew. The cleanliness of the pool area has become more and more disgusting. It is getting so bad, that I have my membership tell August but I will stop going very soon if the cleanliness does not improve drastically.
Website did not inspire confidence
I wanted to join a gym and thought it would be fairly simple to do so, but a visit to the 24 Hour Fitness site left me second-guessing myself. It's so ... "untrustworthy" (if I had to assign one word to it). There are several links for you to join, and all the right adages to motivate you to join, but there is a great VOID when it comes to what the ACTUAL COST is for the memberships. It's almost as if this is done purposefully, which only sets off alarms. #SAD
Quality control needs to get better
Quality control needs to get better. Bathrooms are gross, plumbing issues. People that come there trash the place and the staff doesn’t seem to care.
Most 24 Hour Fitness' are pretty bad
Most 24 Hour Fitness' are pretty bad, but the one I go to in SF isn't so bad. Overall they need to do some maintenance on all their gyms.
Do not order from these people …
Extremely unhelpful staff when parcel goes missing. They delivered and left on my front door ! 80 quids worth of good stolen and no help from these people at all. No refund and now just ignore me when I try to communicate. Really bad service and have lost 80 pounds of goods that they didn’t request a signature for delivery so just let on the doorstep for everyone to see so was stolen. This was a bday present for my son. Do not order from these people they take your money and don’t care if you receive the goods or not
Nothing is functional
Nothing is functional, the equipment is broken, showers are clogged, changing doors don't lock and the music stereo for group classes doesn't work. If a class is cancelled or the pool is closed, they don't notify on the app.

NEVER GO IN THE SAUNA...EXTREMELY FILTHY. Was there yesterday and UGH it was horrible.
24 Hour Fitness Del Amo...Shame on you!
24 Hour Fitness Del Amo is a super large gym with only ONE tiny woman cleaning the ENTIRE facility! They pay Maria Manning $18.50 to clean bathrooms, vacuum and sanitize surfaces while the gym is teaming with people working out, sweating on machines and ignoring basic rules of wiping down equipment! To think the gym is being cleaned properly impossible to believe!
Maria is there faithfully and goes above and beyond what is reasonable, with no appreciation from whomever employs her! Seeing her 4'11 tiny frame walking around with a huge vacuum strapped to her back is just wrong!
All the money 24 Hour Fitness Del Amo makes, and JUST started charging more, calling it "changing tiered membership" is greedy and wrong!
I think they should appreciate the person keeping their facility clean, sanitized and safe...Maria Manning!
Pay her the way you work her! You're taking advantage of the person that is there to clean that ENTIRE facility, sanitize and keep members after COVID!
SHAME ON YOU!
Y'all can Go F’ck Yourselves
Y'all can Go F’ck Yourselves! Allowing blm and pride crap but not American flags, 🖕🏻
Banning the U.S Flag
If they are going to ban the U.S. Flag while allowing the homosexual flag and the Only Blacks Matter flag, they they can burn alone in Hell.
Hit or Miss
I've been a member of 24 Hour Fitness for a while now and have visited many of their locations up and down California. Overall, my experience has been quite mixed. Some gyms are fantastic with modern equipment, clean facilities, and friendly staff, while others fall short in several areas.
It seems like the quality of each location heavily depends on how new it is. The newer locations tend to be well-maintained, with state-of-the-art equipment and a more welcoming atmosphere. However, the older gyms often show their age, with worn-out machines, less cleanliness, and sometimes indifferent staff.
Despite these inconsistencies, 24 Hour Fitness does offer a variety of classes and amenities that can be quite enjoyable when the facilities are up to par, and it's nice being able to visit so many locations under one membership. If you're considering joining, I'd recommend checking out a few different locations to find the one that best meets your needs.
TLDR: 24 Hour Fitness can be a great option if you find a newer, well-maintained location, but be prepared for a hit-or-miss experience depending on which gym you end up at.
24 hours fitness in Northridge was a…
24 hours fitness in Northridge was a dirty and bad customer service old gym. People service there were very lazy; every equipment all very dirty and cover with sand, no paper or cleaning all the time, some of home less all go in there for shower free, equipment broken have no one fix it, and equipment were very old.
Managerial status was very poor to manage those in house service labor.
most labors there were for free workout but do less cleaning work; air condition most time is not turn on. hot and stick air made no energy for customers to work out.
Entitled sexist misandrous manipulative lazy brats running this place
I'm deeply unsettled by my recent first (and will be the last) experience at this club, particularly with the conduct of the highly manipulative staff "manager". It's clear that her behavior was not only unprofessional but also blatantly disrespectful. The idea that she perceives me as her subordinate is both misleading and inappropriate, highlighting a significant misuse of power and a disturbing display of sexism and misandry.
My encounter began with a check-in that unexpectedly turned dismissive when a staff member takes my ID and starts checking-in, but all of sudden out of nowhere starts prioritizing her chit-chat with another group of people who clearly arrived after me, blatantly ignoring the basic principle of 'first come, first served'. I was standing there just waiting for her to finish her chit-chat. This not only delayed my entry but also set a tone of utter disregard. When I politely inquired about my check-in, she lashed out at me saying "Sir, you need to wait!" - a sharply unwarranted response.
Isaac, another staff member, however, provided a glimmer of reason and professionalism in this otherwise disappointing experience, by stepping in and checking me in immediately.
But wait, the story didn't end there. The situation worsened further when, upon leaving and when I was under a severe time crunch to be somewhere, this entitled "manager" stops me abruptly and demands my time as if I were at her beck and call, only to criticize me unjustly. This reversal of blame is not only unacceptable but also indicates a severe lack of accountability. Her approach was not of someone seeking to manage a situation but of someone wielding their position as a weapon of control.
This horrible human being and the staff that she's trying so desperately to control under her, reflect a culture of entitlement and disrespect, making it clear that customer satisfaction and respect are not their priorities.
I am not joining this nonsense of a gym anyways. But, I am writing this review to inform the public about this toxic sexist entitled culture and tell the upper management that changes in staff behavior and management practices are crucial for any future engagement with this establishment. This isn't just about me; it's about ensuring a respectful and welcoming environment for all customers.
24 Hour Fitness Hayward Whipple pool issues
Once AGAIN, Hayward Whipple pool is unswimmable. This is a recurring problem, refusing to be addressed. This is only March 2024.
Since January, these are some issues:
Jan 29-Feb 24 Whipple pool down. contaminated
Mar 4 Whipple pool contaminated again.
Mar 5 Whipple pool reopened
Mar 11 Whipple pool murky
Mar 15-18 Whipple pool closed: PH unbalance
Mar 25 Whipple pool beginning to be murky
Mar 27 Whipple pool murky—unswimmable
NO pool technician to maintenance for 4 months. Only borrowed technicians when there is an issue and complaints.
Plus, 4 shower heads in the women's locker room are inaccessible.
The Handicap shower has been inaccessible for 14 months! There's a big hole in the plumbing area, with zero attempt to fix. Other shower heads are operating poorly, except only 1 that's decent.
Bringing attention to the front desk is worthless and pretentious. In one ear and out the other.
0 if I could
0 if I could. Disgusting gym. Feces all over day I was there. Broken fixtures no hot water place stunk. And their name is a lie most of their facilities aren’t open 24hrs. I supposedly had membership cancelled but hit my card tonight a month later. Real classless people. Scumbags should be out of business
DONT SIGN UP !!!!!
Trial membership is a SCAM. Beware of hidden termination fees.
I signed up for the trial membership to try out the gym and see if I liked it. I did not like it and that is why I canceled. I signed up for a particular plan because I was informed by a 24-hour fitness employee at the front desk that I would only pay a dollar and I could try the gym out until the 18th and see if I liked it. If I didn't like it, I could always cancel and there were no other costs. He said it would only cost me a dollar. I called to cancel the account and was informed that I had to pay a $50 late fee. So, either the employees are providing improper information, or they're lying. If this late fee is in the fine print somewhere, it is very buried and obviously, the $1 bait-and-switch routine is extremely deceptive. There is fine print on the first page that states there "may" be early termination fees but the link goes nowhere. The only fine print available is AFTER you've gone through the lengthy sign up process and any "early termination fee" is buried in a bunch of other fine print on many pages (quite intentionally). I'll be leaving a 1-star review on Google, Trustpilot, and Yelp. I'll be filing complaints with a Better Business Bureau and the attorney general's office of Washington state. Businesses should not be allowed to continue these deceptive business practices.

This club is an embarrassment. Of 9 stair climbers, 5 are not working. As an alternative, I jumped on a treadmill. Also not working.
The club is filthy. The machines have layers of dust on them. Some of the cardio machines have multiple splashes of liquid on them which we can only presume to be sweat. (Let’s hope.) There are balls of dust and lint as well as debris collected all over the floor and around the machines. It’s been so long that the toilets in the women’s locker room have been cleaned properly, there are mildew stains around the bowls.
So why do I still work out here? They closed the West Woodlands location during the pandemic, even thought that club was ALWAYS busy. Maybe they should find the GM from that club and ask for input.
They decided to triple my grandfathered…
They decided to triple my grandfathered annual membership fee without notice. Don't fall for their lies that they will offer you an annual membership at a rate that will not increase in the future. This is the second time they have done this to me.
