The espresso is creamy and has flavor notes, even on my first and second try. Once I watched the 9Barista Youtube direction video, I had no problem. I have an induction stove, so it has taken longer... See more

I bought the 9Barista for travelling and am delighted. At home I have a Pavoni and a Rancillio and the 9Barista makes at least as good coffee as its two colleagues. Be careful not to overheat the 9Bar... See more

About 9Barista
Written by the company
Based in Cambridge, UK, 9Barista designs and makes precision-engineered stove-top espresso machines, capable of producing café-quality espresso at home or on the go.
Made from premium materials and precision-engineered components, 9Barista machines are built to last. And the results speak for themselves; consistent, delicious shots of espresso time after time.
The 9Barista story
William Playford, 9Barista’s founder, has two great passions in life; jet engines and espresso coffee. He started building jet engines as a teenager and went on to study jet engineering at Cambridge.
His love for good coffee started in Italy, slowly turning from love to something of an obsession. But how are these two things linked?
Well, top-quality espresso machines need three things to make perfect coffee: high pressures, perfectly controlled temperatures and precision-engineered components. The same three things that a jet engine requires.
William decided that if anyone could engineer a small but perfectly formed home espresso machine, it was him.
Finally, five years later, 9Barista, the first ever jet-engineered stove-top coffee machine was born.

What I was looking for
I've been looking for a manual espresso maker most were around the same asking price but I picked 9Barista due to the make and quality where others I noticed had plastic or plastic type material.
If James Bond made espresso machines
If James Bond made espresso machines, he’d probably use this one. The all-in pricing is refreshingly clear – no small print, no last-minute surprises. It sets expectations like a pro, which, frankly, is more than I can say for most budget meetings.
Now, I work in pricing and sustainability reporting, but my wife is the real scientist – physics background, sharp eye for design and function. She was genuinely impressed by the engineering behind the 9Barista Mk2. Same accessories as the Pro, by the way. Clean design, efficient setup, and that feeling of precision you get when something’s been built by people who really care.
And the coffee? That first espresso stopped us mid-conversation. Rich, balanced, and with crema so good it should have its own passport. It doesn’t just make coffee. It makes a point.
Peak engineering
I absolutely love the engineering behind this device—it’s a brilliant piece of design, and it makes fantastic espressos. That said, I do have two small nitpicks.
First, the espresso doesn’t come out very hot, mostly because the portafilter is cold and cools the espresso as it passes through. I’ve found that preheating my cup with boiling water solves the issue, but it does mean I have to boil water separately, which is a bit of a hassle.
Second, it’s quite tricky to tell exactly when the espresso is ready. If you miss the timing by just a few seconds, it can end up over-extracted. I’m sure with more practice I’ll get better at recognizing the right moment.
Overall though, this is peak engineering—achieving a true espresso at 9 bars of pressure on a stovetop is seriously impressive, especially when most moka pots or pressure cookers only manage 1–2 bars. I’m genuinely impressed.
Great product
Great product, smooth ordering and delivery. After using the first version of the espresso maker for 4 years, decided to take the plunge and ordered the new iteration and didn't regret it, despite the relatively high price.
Quality product and fantastic coffee
Absolutely fabulous quality product, which also makes fantastic coffee
I love them people

Great and high quality product
Great and high quality product. Loving it since it arrived
I love my 9Barista
I love my 9Barista. I use it at least once a day, so there is lots of tear and wear. I have recently decided to change all the gaskets/seals because it was not reaching the right pressure. The service was extremely fast and everything came perfectly labelled. The documentation in the website is excellent. I replaces the seals myself without any trouble.Everything is working perfect and the coffee is delicious.
This thing is an Espresso Tank
This thing is an Espresso Tank! I’ve been eyeing it for quite sometime and when the MK2 dropped I pulled the trigger and do not regret it one bit. Morning Americano’s are the best!
Bad experience
I’d like to start by mentioning that shortly after I purchased my machine, the company launched a new website along with a new version of the product. It would’ve been helpful if they had communicated this in advance — I would’ve gladly chosen the newer model.
I also encountered an issue with my payment being automatically rejected. I had to reach out to customer support, and eventually, the cross-border team contacted me to resolve it.
That said, aside from these hiccups, the 9Barista works great and delivers excellent espresso

Bought this for my sons 30th birthday
Bought this for my son. Not only is it beautiful and interesting, but makes great espresso. He’s thrilled and excited.
As advertised
I did research on what coffee machine to purchase. Coming from using an automatic coffee machine, I wanted something compact that can make high quality espresso. This machine delivers, it's a travel companion that turns out great espresso. Highly recommended
