Used to be great but sadly no more!

This company used to be good and spot on. Not now. I pre-booked (with guaranteed card payment) an airport taxi for 7am. No car turned up. There was no car to track in the app and this is because it hadn't been dispatched. Apparently this is the norm now, they only send a driver when you contact them after the car has failed to turn up. The driver who eventually arrived after two chasers was very apologetic and told me that they no longer allocate the jobs in advance. I have absolutely no confidence in pre-booking. Can anyone recommend a taxi company that actually honour their bookings please?

Outstanding service

As a long standing and loyal customer for 20 years with this company i have always found the drivers to be smart in their uniforms and the cars kept immaculate. I have had nothing but exceptional service from this company who have over the years gone above and beyond to help and have always been polite and on time.
My family and i highly recommend this company and only yesterday my father in law needed a taxi from the hospital following surgery and although he doesn't request a taxi very often as he drives he was very taken with this company as the taxi arrived in less than 5 minutes from booking it and despite the long journey home the price was extremely reasonable.
Thank you A2b for all your kindness and great service. Its much appreciated.

Got a taxi tonight from the Aloft hotel…

Got a taxi tonight from the Aloft hotel for a journey that took 6 minutes. I expected the fare to be about £6/7 and took out a tenner. The driver then asked for £15.60. What a thieving scumbag I laughed as I opened my wallet and took out a £20….you can’t argue with stupid. I’m quite sure he was after a tip, taking forever to find some pound coins, which I waited for. The taxi back, from the same dodgy firm was……..£7.60. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!

Ordered a taxi for 01/01/2024 at 00:30…

Ordered a taxi for 01/01/2024 at 00:30 from Berkswell cricket club to our home in Meriden. I got a confirmed email and a private confirmation email from one of their colleagues reassuring me the taxi was booked. My wife has a terminal brain tumour and therefore we needed a guaranteed taxi. Needless to say the taxi didn't arrive! When I phoned them they said they had confirmed the booking but hadn't allocated a driver to the booking and we weren't going to get a taxi! We had to walk home over 6 miles on dark country roads! These people are despicable! Do not trust them!!

Entitled condescending, non provision of paid up front service.

Phoned these jokers up to ask what was going on with my finacee. Had been left waiting over an hour in the rain (for a pre booked and paid for) cab. Found out on the call they had no taxis at all available and so she had to cancel as I was trying to get somewhere. I asked the operater in these exact words what they thought they were playing at;” what on earth have you people been playing at for the past hour?”….. told me to watch MY LANGUAGE……I inquired what exact words I spoke that he was offended by. couldn’t provide an example and went on to say I was coming over as rude. I suspect if his fiancee had been left in the dark and rain in an insulubrious area he might “sound” a bit rude to an entitled, fellow, that was doing their best to fob them off. Patronising, condescending, non existant service, for a PRE PAID and booked ride. Which never came despite an hour worth of chasers. Another firm got there in minutes once called. And the operator thought that he was the victim because I had the temerity to ask for an honest explanation. your experience may be different. But You have been warned.

Serious Warning

Warning, do not downIoad the app from their website! It asked me to confirm I was not a robot then filled my phone with dozens of frightening notifications about being hacked - data stolen - etc obviously expecting me to click on dodgy links. I'm absolutely fuming and telephoned to complain but they appear to be totally unconcerned.
Furthermore, a provisional booking enquiry via their website which we cancelled did result in a string of frustrating text messages and a car arriving one hour late for our intended journey to the airport. Meantime, as a alternative, my first Uber ride, arrived within 1 minute in a particularly impressive vehicle for us with our large suitcases.

Simply awful

Simply awful. Prebooked cab 2.5hrs before journey. App designed to make you think cab is booked when it's not. 2 calls yielded a reply saying we may or not be able to help as no taxis agent has responded. Ended up driving myself and missed awards ceremony being 1.5hrs late. Bunch of owns pretending to operate a private hire firm but really an agent

A Jekyll and Hyde company

A Jekyll and Hyde company! 1st time I used them they was absolutely fantastic and I had a great experience. The 2nd and the last time I will use them I was the worst experience I ever had. I had pre booked them from the day before for a school run for the afternoon. I even booked it 30 minutes early. not only did they failed to arrive but when I called to find out why they have not arrived i was spoken to a rude operator who did not care that my kids were stranded outside the school with no way for me to get to them. When I asked for an explanation for not turning up to a pre booked appointment. The reason given was that all the drivers are self employed and if they are not near the area they have no obligations to accept the job. When asked why take my job if they have no obligation to accept m was told if I’m not happy then go catch a bus!! Pathetic behaviour

Car just drove off.

Recently I had pre-booked a car to pick us up at home the following morning at 5am to take my wife and I to Birmingham Airport for an early flight. On the morning we were ready and waiting at 5am, standing in our porch with the light on. Just before 5am a car pulled up outside and we received a recorded telephone message to say that our car was there. We turned of our lights, opened the porch door and prepared to go out to the car when the car simply drove off leaving us standing there!!! All this happened in seconds. I telephoned the office and explained to the man who answered what had just happened. He was very apologetic and said that he had no idea what had happened. He said that there was no car available immediately but that he would send one as soon as possible. I telephoned another taxi company who sent a car within 10mns and we got to the airport in time(just). We have used A to B many times over the years and have always found them to be reliable but in the light of this experience we will never use them again.

I have been generous giving a 3-star…

I have been generous giving a 3-star rating because I have previously used this company with no problems. However, last night I 'phoned for a taxi to pick me up and the woman I spoke with was very unhelpful. I gave her the postcode of the Church where I wanted to be collected from and she said she couldn't find it, only a school. I explained that they were close to each other and she said there were no cars available so I would have to wait. I asked how long it would be and she said half an hour and I would have to pay for it upfront. I have never had to do this before, paying the driver on each occasion. I am 72 years old and didn't want to stand alone on a dark country lane so I said I would try another taxi firm and she said o.k. I did so and was collected 5 - 10 mins. later and paid the driver when he dropped me off at my destination. I feel you should know about this because it will cost you a lot in missed fares because of her blasé attitude towards customers.

A2B cabs birmingham, i was given a card from the guy who took us to the world resort venue from arden hotel £5.60, fair price. Told us to phone a cab to pick us up at the Crown Plaza Hotel to come back as would be easier for us, £7.80 0n meter when we got in. I said to him why is there £7.80 on the meter he said because you phoned to pick up here and I waited on you to come. Was double the price of when we went.
Birmingham I'm sorry, but I'll never be back, that twice I've been ripped off in one day with your taxi's, it'll never happen again.

Awful service

Awful service. Ordered a cab for a single lady with her tiny lap dog. Waited 30 mins and then to be told they wouldn’t take the little dog because they were frightened!!!!! Get a grip!!!!! Refused a ride. Disgusting

Disgusting behaviour

I pre booked a taxi the night before for 9pm the next day. I phoned the taxi company up at 10 to 9 to ask if it was on the way. They said yes ten minutes. I then went on my phone it got to 9:05 and they had cancelled my booking on me. I booked again and they cancelled again meaning I had to get on a bus late at night. I will never use A2B again and I won’t recommend the company to anyone either.

I had to book a cab from train station…

I had to book a cab from train station to hospital and return today. I had the most pleasant experience with two amazing drivers who provided an anxious car passenger with a smooth, anxiety free ride both ways.
I had not realised I would be informed of car and arrival until after I had made the first journey and did not receive a similar text on return journey. There is definitely a lag in their system. There is also a link to pay online which is not received in a timely manner but I had cash in anticipation, thankfully.
I have downloaded the app and hope the messages will become more consistent and conducive to a positive, flexible payment experience. That is my only complaint to be fair.
As I say, two drivers, delightful, excellent experience (they would get five stars). Thank you both

I would have given 0 if possible AVOID…

I would have given 0 if possible AVOID if using with wheelchair user. I only wanted to take my mum from the park down the road back to her care home as road back was too steep to push. In the end after 40 minutes of fiasco I had to push her back anyway . Could not get a cab to Trittiford park entrance. They sent fist taxi to an address half way up the road I could not get to, at the second attempt I didn’t get a taxi, just an operator telling me to ask someone for a postcode ? Finally I got mum across the road to a house with a number, gave them the addresss - and they sent the taxi to the wrong Priory Road.

Taxi arrived in good time

Taxi arrived in good time, the driver complained over and over because the garden materials where a little damp because of all the rain we've had , I said if he couldn't take me I would call someone else could do it as he was making such a fuss after a short discussion he said he would take me but said his car would probably need valeting, I asked about how much it would be , he quoted between 10 and £ 15 but wouldn't charge me more than £15. After arriving home I asked how much which he said was £27 and as I only got £20 he took me to the bank and drew out £10. And he took 7 out of that which ment he had taken 1 for him self without my says iv e mails them 2 twice for a refund and have been completely ignored but want stop there

AVOID AVOID AVOID

Would be zero stars if I could, avoid at all costs. Pre-booking was no good as I was told this means nothing by an extremely rude woman (I would call her a lady but I doubt that very much) who I spoke to on the phone. Cars didn't arrive that I had pre-booked and when some sort of transport arrived it was late. Was an absolute shambles, not a brain cell between them, the people that run or own this place. You would be quicker walking!
