The biggest problem is access out of hours

Staff is helpful. It is very easy to navigate as long as you know how and when to use the codes.
The only issue is that access out of hours should be available to all or they should let customers know the exact reason why some of us can access or not. Access out of hours should not be up to the regional manager to decide according to his mood. If Ts & Cs apply, then you have to list them in the website so that the customers are not being mislead to believe they can have access if requested. Imagine someone paying the same as I do, having that privilege and I am restricted for no apparent reason. It is not fair. You need to fix that.

As outlined in our terms and conditions, unrestricted 24 hour access is not available to all customers. Exceptions can be granted on an individual basis, subject to approval, and are carefully managed to ensure the safety and security of all customers and their belongings.

In your case, the store team explained in advance that approval was unlikely due to the size of the unit, but they still submitted a request on your behalf to explore every possibility. Unfortunately, this exception was not granted. These decisions are never made arbitrarily and are based solely on maintaining a secure environment for everyone on site.

We appreciate your feedback regarding transparency and will continue to ensure these policies are clearly communicated. If your access needs change in the future, our team will be happy to review the available options with you.

We just booked for access self storage…

We just booked for access self storage in Kingston /norbiton.
Malkay ( I hope I spelled it right) the assistant at the reception was extremely helpful, polite and explained everything calmly and clearly. We didn't feel pressured and he answered all our questions kindly. Highly recommended!

Incompetent staff and ridiculous and…

Incompetent staff and ridiculous and absent management. Bordering on illegal practices around randomly moving your stuff without authorization. Can’t make payments on their app and need to call them. When I call them they won’t pick up.
Have been asking repeatedly for recordings of when my stuff was accessed and if it was safely moved and nothing has happened since January. Useless bunch of crooks.

Wanted to access the property urgently and am told they are “closed” throughout the Easter break. Do they understand what self serve storage means?

We are sorry to read how strongly you feel about the situation and appreciate the opportunity to clarify.

Following the closure of the Bermondsey site, and after several attempts to contact you without response, your unit was relocated to our Acre Lane store as part of a managed decant process. You later confirmed that you had received the original communication. The relocation was carried out to ensure the continued safety and security of your belongings during the site closure.

You requested video footage of the move, which we immediately sought from the removal team. There was a delay due to technical issues in retrieving the file, and we apologise for the time this took. This was not ignored, and we kept you informed while awaiting the footage.

Regarding access over Easter, Bermondsey was no longer operational at that point due to the closure. Acre Lane remained open across the period with the exception of Easter Sunday. We understand this was frustrating, particularly given the urgency you described.

We are pleased that since speaking with you in store, we were able to explain the circumstances fully and address your concerns directly.

We take allegations regarding unauthorised access or mishandling of goods extremely seriously. At no stage were your belongings accessed without process or oversight, and the move was conducted as part of an organised site transition.

If you would like to discuss anything further, please contact the store directly and we will be happy to assist.

Want to give the manger Liam Martin…

Want to give the manger Liam Martin thank you and mention what excellent communication/Application skills he has as a manger at the Nottingham store he got back to me when he said as he has busy workload and schedule as he was at other sites when i went in to store but know as been a manager myself how busy you can be as workload can be heavy at time but was clear on his messaging and the most important thing in my book took time to call back when he did.
Hope his superiors recognised all the hard work he does in tough industry and the job can be lonely at times seems everyone against you but liam ticks all boxes in management in my book and Nottingham store in excellent conditions as well.

I recently took a storage room at…

I recently took a storage room at access storage In Wandsworth, after seeing the 100sqf room I ordered i asked to cancel as wasn’t useable as the room was small and very high unless I took a ladder to store my stuff it wasn’t suitable , was told by staff member just to store there for a week to a more suitable room became available and then move my 100sqf of stuff again, i moved out of the store within 24 hours. Also the parking spaces in store are all rented out making near impossible to move you van to a bay once finished in a loading bay ( I had to wait 40 minutes just to get in the loading bay .
I was advised by store to park down the road, I have stored in many storage facilities and this is by far the worst service I’ve ever received, if you have a complaint you can’t even speak to anyone, I had to deal with the store I was complaining about, I would recommend you using any of the other storage facilities near by. Also they change code for access every 2 hours so if I stored there i would be constantly sending new codes. Also there trolley for you to use are quite small it would of been hard to unload a sofa of a cupboard onto them

We understand how frustrating it must have been to encounter delays with the loading bay and to feel that the unit was not suitable for your needs. Our team did offer the opportunity to view the unit prior to move in and also proposed alternative solutions on the day, including a transfer to a different space, however we respect your decision to move out within 24 hours.

Regarding access and facilities, our units are designed with higher ceilings to maximise storage capacity, and our regularly changing access codes are an important security measure to help keep all customers’ belongings safe. Trolleys provided on site are standard across the industry, and we continually review our facilities to ensure they meet customer needs.

We are sorry that this experience led to your dissatisfaction and appreciate your feedback, which helps us to improve our service. Should you require storage in the future, we would welcome the opportunity to provide you with a more positive experience.

An Excellent Storage Facility

My whole experience from enquiry stage to renting a unit has been easy and straightforward. Raphael and the team at the Northampton centre have been brilliant. They have delivered excellent customer service, which has really helped as this was the first time that I have rented a storage unit.
