Overall very good. A very smooth operation. Ferry even departed Newhaven 15 mins before scheduled time! Only glitch in the operation was confusion at Newhaven over bags that could be taken on board. This was down to uncertainty and not early enough checks by ground crew. Requirement for foot passengers to check in at least 90 mins before sailing is excessive. Surprised no sandwich offering in restaurants. People who had travelled DFDS before knew this and brought their own. Also, hot food was closed 2 hours before arrival. Could not more ferries be put on this route during summer season? Ferries seem to be in port about 5 or 6 hours before turning round. The demand must be there.

just good quiet service - good value for money although the shop could do with better stock. It would be nice if children could be kept in one partnof the deck but that is a parent problem.

The DFDS ferry service is punctual and comfortable. The Seven Sisters has recently had a few upgrades, such as a kids play area, extended shop and bar. The reclining chairs on the upper floor are where you want to go for a, quiet and b, phone chargers that work! Foot passengers, be aware that the transfer bus from the port to the railway station is not included in the price and costs €3 per person, CASH ONLY! If you don't have cash it's a half hour walk or wait and pay for a taxi (or prebook). The food, as ever, was awesome. I swear that whenever I use my French I get better service, and bigger portions haha! The ten per cent off when booking online is recommended!

Excellent journey on very good boat. Nothing to fault with the trip, except a couple of areas for improvement - the port itself at Newhaven is not very well sign posted and although you are given a sat nav postcode it is quite easy to miss the dfds port, particularly with heavy traffic around. Also, I have used this crossing twice and cannot understand why the documentation states that check-in closes 90 mins before sailing, when in reality check-in doesn’t even open until 95 mins before and possibly later.
