I emailed Aga in August concerning having to change to a smart meter and our concerns over doing so. The response from Dean was incredibly helpful. He replied very quickly and he was clearly wanting to help with several emails going between us. Good news is that after 4 visits from the energy company and failed attempts with wrong meters brought and the realisation that this wasn’t a simple task…. We now have a Smart meter installed.
Thanks Dean for your efforts in helping us!

I bought a house with a dual fuel AGA 5 years ago, and to say I hate this oven is an understatement.
I don't think there is a better example of style-over-substance currently on the market.
The only reason I'm writing this review is having discovered a catastrophic fault with it last week, I finally decided to rip it out and have it disposed of. An £8000 oven that was only 12 years old, that I couldn't even give away on account of the condition it was in.
It was 7 years old when we got it, and the enamel coating was already delaminating from the hob area.
We were initially excited about having "an AGA", but the sheer stupidity of the design quickly became tiresome. I fully believe the people who own these ovens don't use them.
1. The ovens themselves are tiny. The fact that you have to load them length ways is irritating in the extreme if you've got something heavy like a cast iron pan with a large chicken in it.
2. The ovens take millennia to heat up. 30-40 minutes to reach max temp.
3. This is by far the worst.. these things get FILTHY in the most unhygienic, disgusting way imaginable. The hob is made of multiple sections, so every single crevice gets filled with grease, gunk, liquid, and anything else that splashes onto it, and cleaning it to a complete standard is impossible. It's literally impossible. Compare that to a Rangemaster where the hobs are just a single piece you can wipe around in one go and you'll see what I mean. cleaning this oven is an absolute chore. The absolute worse part are the dials. The interface slopes at 45 degrees, and the dials have enormous holes behind them that collect every single drip, splash and debris from every meal you make. They are DISGUSTING. I feel like retching every time I look behind them. Cleaning them out to a satisfactory standard is impossible
The final straw came for me when we had a power cut. the first one we'd had in five years since buying the house. When I turned the power back on and reset the oven clock, I noticed the top right oven light on, despite the oven being off. It then went out, just like it would once it reached temperature.. That's when something clicked.. we'd always wondered why our house since to consume a constantly high about of electricity, even when everything was switched off at night.
I tested the oven, and my worst fears were confirmed. The oven was broken and constantly on, but not enough to register any actual heat, and since it doesn't have a fan, it was completely silent. It had been consuming 0.75-1.25kwh of electricity per hour, 24 hours a day, FOR FIVE YEARS.
Turning off the oven immediately wiped 20kwh of daily usage off our bill. We went from 35kwh of electricity per day to 15.
If you're wondering what the total cost of that is over five years, it's £15000.
The reason why we didn't get rid of it sooner is because they're such a stupid size, you have to have custom countertops and cabinets put in, which meant replacing the oven would have to happen with everything else being ripped out.. but this week, having already spent 15k cooking nothing in an oven I don't use for the last five years, I pulled the counter tops apart, had the oven ripped out and taken away, and replaced it with a range cooker from another popular manufacturer, and I couldn't be happier. The oven heats up in 15 minutes, I can see what I'm cooking, and better yet, I can load the pans sideways like a normal person. Cleaning it means pulling out a single wipe and doing the whole top in one go. No more folding bits of wipe to scrape out all the crevices.
I will never buy another AGA product as long as I live. It's not an exaggeration to say that me, and my bank balance hate this company.
Oh, the best bit was that I always thought I'd just be able to sell it since it was 8k new. Colour me surprised when I found them going for literally 200 quid on Facebook.

We received our cooker almost a year ago. Due to unresolved faults, which affected our confidence in that particular cooker, the cooker was exchanged in January 2026.
The replacement cooker soon developed a fault with the grill and we were unable to use it.
An engineer visited us on the 17th February and informed us the the cooker required two new parts which he would order.
We are still waiting!
Repaircare, the company used for repairs, informed us that the parts were due on 6th March. Today we were informed that our cooker required parts and we would be told when they arrived.
Repaircare keep sending the same message but have not explained why we have not received our parts as promised on 6th March and they have not given us a delivery update.
On a positive note the retailer, Rangemoor, have been very supportive and the engineer that visits us has been very helpful.

A very quick and professional installation of my new Rangemaster cooker by Lak and Mark.
They arrived when they said they would and quickly removed my old cooker. They took great care unpacking and installing the new cooker and made it look easy.
Lak gave a very good tutorial on the controls and how the induction hob would work so that I was able to get started straight away with using it.
These were very friendly and knowledgeable chaps and would be happy to recommend the service from Rangemaster.

The guys who so professionally installed our new Aga especially Lak, Mark and Zen. The whole process of removing the old Aga and safely installing the new purchase was completed smoothly without damage and any problems. Lak took care to make sure we were conversant with all the controls before departure which was also helpful and welcome. If our new Aga performs as long and well as the old unit did for over 70 years we will be highly satisfied.
