Agoda support asked me to email or WhatsApp after my previous review. I had already emailed, but your customer service chose to ignore it — no reply at all. I then tried WhatsApp, only to find myself messaging a robot instead of a real person.
Stop ignoring your customers and respond to the email I sent.

The agent always said that he needs 5 - 10 minutes to review my case. He never got back to me, so I never received a reply concerning the refund requested. Worst customer service ever!

No one speaks English!!!
Hotel has emailed them with my request about a wheelchair accessible room but nobody at Agoda can read English to communicate this. Disastrous.

Where to start.
Went through nectar hotels to book with points and cash.
Settled on accommodation and went to pay and comes up with "couldn't take payment","unable to charge your card" and "issue with payment contact your bank".
Tried booking numerous times and same issue.
Went into 2 branches of my bank (nw) and the said they were willing to send the payment but there was an issue with Agoda's verification of me so they weren't happy and wouldn't send money.
Absolutely no way of getting in touch with Agoda so worst experience I've ever had.
Avoid like the plague.

False Advertisement and False Narrative From Agoda
I am filing this complaint against Agoda regarding booking number 2009900405. Agoda has engaged in deceptive practices, misleading promotions and unfair billing around my reservation at Stay Hotel in Bangkok for 9–10 May.
During the booking process for the 9–10 May stay, the price clearly shown on Agoda was THB 1,247, including taxes and breakfast. However, after completing the reservation, the final amount charged to me was THB 1,446. This unexplained difference of approximately THB 200 is a clear example of a bait‑and‑switch tactic, where the price displayed at the time of booking is not the price ultimately charged.
Agoda promoted this booking with messages such as “last minute price drop,” “birthday sale discount” and a “20% app coupon,” creating the impression that I was receiving a special discounted rate. In reality, competitors were offering better prices without these so‑called discounts. Priceline, even as a guest member, offered the same room for around THB 1,387, Expedia listed it for about USD 41, and Klook for around THB 1,390, all cheaper than Agoda’s supposedly discounted price. These marketing claims by Agoda are therefore misleading.
Agoda also advertised “free breakfast” and “free amenities” for this booking. In practice, these items were part of the room package and paid by me as part of the total cost. Presenting these as “free” benefits is dishonest and misleads customers into believing they are receiving additional value at no cost when they are not.
From my experience and from what many other travelers have reported, this does not appear to be an isolated case. For example, in Vietnam, numerous travelers have shared that they were shown a price of about 200,000 VND on Agoda, only to be charged around 400,000 VND upon arrival, often for short‑stay rooms instead of full‑day bookings. Agoda’s platform and practices appear to enable and amplify such misleading pricing and room type representations across different countries.
These tactics waste customers’ time, erode trust and cause direct financial loss. I provided Agoda’s customer service with screenshots and clear evidence of the price discrepancy, as well as the misleading “discount” and “free” claims. Despite this, Agoda failed to properly acknowledge the discrepancy or offer a fair resolution, and their support has been unhelpful and dismissive.
I request that Agoda refund the overcharged amount for my 9–10 May booking in full and formally acknowledge the deceptive advertising involved in this case. I also expect Agoda to stop misleading customers with fake discounts, artificial “last minute” or “birthday” sales and false “free” benefits, and to present transparent pricing that is honestly competitive with other platforms.
Agoda’s behavior in this matter amounts to false advertising, misrepresentation and consumer fraud. I am submitting this complaint to the Better Business Bureau to hold Agoda accountable and to help protect other customers from being misled in the same way.

Best selection of hotels not seen on other sites with best prices!
Overall experience faultless have been with Agoda for years and never regret using them.
I have been using agoda for years now and everything so easy and smooth booking with them. It is easy contacting their customer service theyre so quick in replying to your queries and concerns.
Do NOT use Agoda to book rooms. They use dodgy third party agencies. On one occasion I arrived at a hotel in Cyprus booked through Agoda only to be informed that they had not received the reservation from the third party agency. Very embarrassing situation in the hotel reception trying to convince the hotel that I had a paid reservation at their hotel. On another occasion, having got email confirmation from the Sao Paolo hotel that they would not charge a cancellation charge, Agoda's unprofessional third party agency refused to accept this, insisting on charging a cancellation charge. Just don't take a chance with Agoda. Unlike Booking.com, they don't book hotels directly but instead book through dodgy third party agencies.

I am writing this to express my extreme frustration regarding the security deposit from my stay at the Las Palmas Inn in Tucson, Arizona. Despite having clear proof of the charge, I am stuck in a loop between a non-responsive hotel and Agoda support.
The Hotel Experience:
The Las Palmas Inn (operating as Julian Dr LLC) has been completely unresponsive. They have ignored my multiple phone calls and emails. Most importantly, they are in violation of Arizona Revised Statute § 33-1321, which requires security deposits to be returned within 14 days. It has now been 60 days.
The Agoda Experience:
My experience with Agoda customer service has been equally disappointing. Despite providing a physical receipt that shows the hotel’s exact address (5251 S Julian Dr), bank statement, and a unique Authorization Code proving the transaction was finalized, Agoda has failed to resolve this. Agoda support claims they cannot help because the hotel processed the charge directly, but they are also unable to get a response from their own partner property.
I am left with no refund and no solution, despite providing verifiable bank evidence of the charge. I expect Agoda to take responsibility for the conduct of the partners they feature on their platform.

This case reflects not only poor customer service, but a serious breach of duty of care and platform responsibility.
I arrived at the property with a confirmed booking, only to find that the accommodation was completely unreachable — no response, no contact, no support. I was left stranded in a foreign city with my luggage, forced to search for alternatives on my own and even rely on a local shop to assist with phone calls.
For international travelers, this is not just inconvenient — it is a clear safety risk.
Being left without accommodation in an unfamiliar country exposes travelers to unnecessary danger and uncertainty.
If any harm had occurred — whether due to unsafe surroundings, lack of shelter, or being stranded without support — would Agoda accept liability?
As a booking platform, Agoda has a fundamental duty of care to ensure that listed properties are legitimate, reachable, and capable of honoring confirmed reservations. In this case, that obligation was not met.
What is equally unacceptable is the way this situation has been handled. Despite clear evidence that the property failed to provide the stay, customer support repeatedly issued generic, template responses, delayed the process, and continued to request documentation rather than addressing the core failure.
To be clear:
Refunding the original booking amount is not a resolution — it is the minimum obligation.
This incident resulted in additional accommodation costs, transportation expenses, significant time loss, and disruption to my travel plans, including lost experiences that cannot be recovered.
If Agoda’s policy limits accountability to a refund and minimal compensation in such situations, it raises serious concerns about how the platform manages risk, responsibility, and customer safety.
I expect this case to be handled with the seriousness it deserves. I will continue to monitor the outcome and reserve all rights to pursue further action if necessary.

FRUAD AGENCY
Doesnt matter if you pay more in other platform but avoid these guys.
ISSUE- The system is misleadingly defaulting to 1 guest on the payment page despite the initial search being for 2 adults. Furthermore, there is no option to edit the guest count, and the booking confirmation PDF conveniently omits the guest count entirely. This issue has caused unnecessary confusion and inconvenience. A booking made with the wrong guest count has created a problem to us. I am extremely dissatisfaction with the pathetic customer service and deceptive practices.

Exchange rate is unacceptable. They charged me something around 5 or 6%
