Worst Airline I ever flew with

Worst Airline I ever flew with. We couldn‘t bring our Hand baggage on Board, this war recognized was too late, leading to a delay of 1h which could have been avoided. Super unfriendly staff.

Just another terrible experience with…

Just another terrible experience with them. I remember it is probably the 2nd time they lose the luggage (for 4 days they could not find it exactly as long as my stay) and now they lost it when outside at night were 4 degrees and I made a claim for the basics (really basics) that I needed for my annual conference in Riga (where i cannot use a tshirt, no?). All in all I made the claim and according to their will they want to give me 10 EUR/day? Joke of the day...
Going back in tine, last time i flew them their stewardesses were harassed and almost beaten by a drunk passanger - when i actually intervene and blocked him and isolate him to protect the ladies - honestly after their terribel customer service next time I will just let them get beaten and say I did not see anything, but here is 10 EUR for the show.

When you see them as a connecting fight of another airline JUST RUN!
AND DONT BOOK THEM!

AirBaltic makes me feel cheated

I was using Airbaltic quite often and was satisfied with new planes and service, but lately I always get a message that plane has been changed and instead of good Airbaltic plane they charter some lowcost old plane from another company, while price of the tickets is still the same. You feel like you were cheated and bought used car at the price of new.

Horrible

I was supposed to have a morning flight directly from Riga to Amsterdam. All of a sudden, my flight was canceled without further explanation.

It turned out that we had to make a stop-over in Lithuania. This caused a considerable delay. In Lithuania the plane became jam-packed with very noisy and stinking men, being drunk, drinking their own alcohol during the flight, although it seems to be forbidden. What a disgrace. 

My advice would be to skip Baltic Airlines at all times, if  possible.
In short, Air Baltic is a very unreliable carrier, even not offering a complimentary (non alcoholic) drink for the inconvenience caused.

Budget airline with a big heart

Flying airBaltic is as budget as you should expect, no complimentary drinks or food on short flights and somewhat cramped seats. Airline personnel are friendly and helpful. No issues with purchasing the tickets, checking in and boarding.

Due to a problem caused by another company we were unable to board our flight, stranding us at Riga airport. airBaltic tried different methods to correct our issue but were unable to help in that instance.

A day later, after the other company had simply abandoned us, not returning our calls and offering no alternative flights, the airBaltic personnel were very kind to help us get an alternative flight with connection booked for 7 persons, which wasn't an easy task.
Even though the other company was to blame, airBaltic deserves our 5 stars for their kindness and help, they saved our holiday!

Extremely Disappointed with AirBaltic - Unprofessional Handling of Compensation Claim

I recently experienced a significant delay with Air Baltic on a flight from Vienna to Riga that was delayed by over 5 hours, causing us to miss our connection and disrupt our entire travel plans. According to EU Regulation 261/2004, we are entitled to compensation since the delay exceeded 5 hours, and we chose not to board the delayed flight due to the impact on our schedule.

Despite providing clear evidence of the delay and multiple attempts to assert our rights, Air Baltic has continuously denied our rightful claim for compensation. Their customer service team seems either unwilling or unable to correctly interpret the regulations, and their responses have been dismissive and unhelpful, referring us to dispute resolution bodies rather than addressing the issue directly.

It is incredibly disappointing that a major airline would handle such a straightforward case in this manner. The refusal to comply with EU laws and the lack of proper customer service reflect poorly on Air Baltic. I would advise anyone flying with them to be prepared for similar issues, and if your flight is delayed, know that you might face a lengthy battle to receive the compensation you are legally entitled to.

I am taking further steps to escalate this issue with the appropriate regulatory authorities and will not be flying with Air Baltic again unless they rectify this situation.

Air Baltic, do better for your customers. Compliance with regulations and basic customer service should be a given, not a fight.

2 flights, 2 delays, no compensation/tolerance!

2 flights - 2 delays of oer 7 hours! No compensation!

On September 1st I was flying from London to Helsinki via a layover in Riga. The flight from London had already a delay of 2.5 hours. Well, things can happen. Then in Riga the next shock: the flight to Helsinki had a delay of over 5 hours!

Still I accepted the fact and after arriving in Helsinki 6 hours later then planned, I immediately filled in the compensation form.

Now the part that makes me so mad: The airline answered that no compensation will be paid due to a sudden illness of a crew member referring it to an extraordinary circumstance. Knowing my rights I checked the law and sent them the information that sudden illness of a crew is no extraordinary circumstance, but something that could have been avoided. Even after that, the airline still said, that they wont pay the compensation.

I now went with an airline flightright provider as I do have the right to get a compensation.

I am so disappointed that besides the customer service person being super rude, the airline tries to foul us passengers even after sending them the law clause stating that their reason is not an extraordinary circumstance.

Moreover, the airline offered a 5 EUR refreshment voucher because of the delay.. well the delay happened during the night so we were stuck at Riga airport during the night. Nothing there was opened to use the refreshment voucher.

That was truly the last time I flew with this airline if no tolerance is shown towards the passengers for delays/issues the airline caused.

Very bad

Sometimes travel expectations don't align with reality, and unfortunately, my flight was one of those times when the experience was far from what I had hoped for. First of all, the flight was delayed multiple times, which completely ruined my travel plans. With each delay, the frustration and stress only grew, especially since there were no clear explanations provided.

When we finally boarded the plane, it had just landed from a previous flight, so the cabin was hot and stuffy. It felt like the air conditioning wasn’t working – spending several hours in such an environment was simply unbearable. Not to mention the lack of space, cramped seats, and a total absence of comfort.

Despite all these inconveniences, the airline offered compensation that was outright ridiculous – just 6 euros. Such an "apology" only made the overall impression worse and showed that passenger comfort and satisfaction do not seem to be a priority for them.

It’s disappointing that what was supposed to be a pleasant journey turned into one of the worst experiences in my flight history. I certainly don't plan on choosing this airline’s services anytime soon.

We fly regularly to Riga to visit family. In our +10 flights we always had flights on time, no problem with the luggage and friendly staff. Our 40+ wedding guests also enjoyed their flights in 2020. Keep up the good service and add Stuttgart back to the flight plan please:)

Air Baltic disappointment

Air Baltic changed my paid seat without letting me know. I just faced the fact at the gate when they sent me to a different queue. The staff asked me if I have the same problem as the others. I said I have no any problem but your colleague sent me here. Then he said that my seat was changed. I said I paid for the seat. He checked again and he confirmed that it was changed due to balance of the plane. During the flight I walked to the seat that I paid for and what a surprise another passenger was sitting on my seat. No balance problem then? No compensation, refund or apology. They want me to contact them to get my money back for something they've cancelled. Be aware as I can see it's common practice for them. I thought air Baltic is a decent airline.

Worst expierence ever!!

First we flew from Amsterdam to Tallinn on July 8th, where upon arrival we discovered that one wheel of our first suitcase was broken, and the second one had a wheel torn off by the roots and had a lot of big dents. Because of this, we had to throw the suitcases away, since there was no repair shop nearby. Then when we flew back from Amsterdam to Tallinn on August 15th, when we arrived at Amsterdam airport, we waited an hour for our suitcase, but it was not found and it was declared missing. And only 2 weeks later it was returned to us! It was completely open, when we saw its contents, we discovered that half of our things were crumpled, all the bottles were spilled, plus HALF OF OUR CLOTHES were missing! Jeans, T-shirts, PILLS, even cigarettes were simply stolen from us without any rights. I am very, very disappointed, because these things were completely new and I really needed them (

Disappointing experience with the website and customer service

I’ve used airBaltic twice, and each time I’ve encountered issues with their website. When booking my flights, the site selected dates that didn’t match the ones I wanted. The first time this happened, customer service responded well by refunding me with a voucher, which was a much-appreciated gesture.

However, this time, the situation was quite different. Despite the website clearly having an issue, I’m being asked to pay an additional 50 euros to change my flight. What’s even more frustrating is that customer service is refusing to refund me, claiming that my request was made more than 24 hours after the purchase, even though my trip is still 15 days away!

I’m really disappointed by this response, especially after having had a positive experience the first time. I hope airBaltic will take this feedback into account and offer some kind of compensation to resolve this situation. It’s really not acceptable that a technical issue on their site should end up penalizing the customer.

Always a problem

2 weeks ago I left for business on a sunday from DUS to LHR. It was Eurowings but executed on behalf of Airbaltic, guess what. Delay because the engines couldn´t start independently, needed external power and shouldn´t be a security risk. In total almost 2 hrs delay. On my way back today, all seems good. Waiting to board, but gates stayed closed. Even after departure time and still no information given. After a while it was announced that there is delay of 1,5hrs. During the waiting I received a message that flight was cancelled. Took me ages to get a place on the late evening flight as I needed to be in DUS, as the car is parked there and didn´t want diverted and transit flights. Will avoid to fly baltic in the future. Twice used and twice fu×#%@.

Worse than a discount airline

Air Baltic advertises itself as a premium service, being Latvia’s state affiliated airline. It is expensive but also uses the same nasty cost-plus tactics as discount airlines like Ryanair. The flight planning at Riga airport for this airline is very poor. We arrived over 2 hours early, found a line that looped around the airport at 5:30 am, and were forced to purchase a 30 euro fast check in pass for baggage, instead of being checked in normally for the flight. Even then they did not guarantee the transit of our luggage. No care, no responsibility. High cost and extremely cramped seats. Next time, I will travel Norwegian even if i pay double.

The 30 Euro fee was to allow us to check-in using another desk in order for us to make the flight. We paid it to check the luggage in on time.

!!! UPDATE !!!
Even after paying the extra charge and checking in on time, the luggage never arrived. Myself and a few other upset Airbaltic customers found that the baggage was lost or delayed, and the luggage company could not tell us whether the baggage was loaded because Air Baltic failed to register ANY hold baggage for the flight. I still don't have my luggage after 24 hours and have made a lost claim with the Lost-Luggage handler.

The extra price sting does not guarantee any professional conduct from this sloppy and unreliable airline

What an absolute disgusting service…

What an absolute disgusting service from air Baltic. Two suitcases lost. Had to stay in a hotel to await the possibility of finding them. No joy next day do had to forward my ongoing journey. 1 week later they turned up at airport. Sent a friend to collect one. 2 weeks later still not got the other. They refused to send them on. A different friend passing through this week and will colllect. They offered under £10 compensation. Cost me over £200. Deplorable company

Avoid these airlines!!!

Me and my family (2 small kids) took a flight from Baku to Riga and then to Barcelona. The flight got delayed and then they changed our flight via Munich. Then the flight again got delayed, they changed it to Amsterdam. We have just landed to Barcelona and our luggage is now lost.
The worst experience with airlines we have ever had.
The Holiday is totally ruined!!!

Flight from Amsterdam to Riga was damaging experience. First of all our 3 suitcases was lost , 3 days later no news about our luggage. Try to contact customer service , which is only email and all answers you get is just automated.Our holiday was completely ruined. We have spend holiday money on essentials and new clothes etc .
Will mention that flight attendants both of them very unfriendly and not interested in they customers. We will be making inquiries what are our rights and will take air Baltic to court. With all the damage they have caused to us
