Extremely poor business decisions in the midst of the coronavirus...

In the midst of the coronavirus and all that is shutting down, Airbnb does not care if work events, to which you were traveling, are now cancelled. Airports are shutting down, restaurants, stores, etc., yet they will retain 50% of one's monies because there is a legitimate reason to cancel? This company is a sham and the owners should be ashamed of themselves. I have documentation that outlines my work event is cancelled - first time in the history of their annual trade shows, as now is a first time for anything like this happening in America - yet Airbnb did not review/request my documentation and does not care and refuses to do the right thing and release monies for a stay that people cannot and will not be able to use. I have other work events that were cancelled and the hotels freely and immediately cancelled the stays without complaint, incident, or issue. They are going to be hurting through this crisis. We ALL are going to be hurting through this crises. If Airbnb makes such horrible decisions right now, in the time of a true crisis, what fair business practices will they make during normal, business operating times? Do not rent from this company. Boycott them now and after things are back to normal. Book your stays with the standard hotel who provide proper and just policies. Send the message to companies that try to rob the consumer during duress, that we will remember and not support you today nor tomorrow.

Airbnb is not a safe place to Host

Airbnb is not a safe place to Host. They promise they verify renters and cover them if they damage your property and they do not. BEWARE of opening up your home and renting on this platform. They do not offer insurance coverage for damages as they promise. They allow fake reviews to be left up as a form of extortion from fake renters. They are impossible to get a hold of. They transfer you from one person to another and never get back to you. Once you encounter a renter who damages your home, violates your rules, and steals from your property, AIRBNB block you as a Host. Never have I seen such practices. As a Host and user of AIRBNB for over 7 years, I now understand why the fellow Hosts I know no longer open up their homes to renters on this platform. Airbnb is notorious for this behavior and insurance companies have caught on to this and are no longer covering homes that are on this platform. BEWARE IF YOU THINK YOUR INSURANCE WILL COVER YOU IF YOU USE #AIRBNB, they probably will not and neither will Airbnb. So if you make a few thousand dollars but then a renter burns your home down because of careless behavior and not following your house rules, you are out of luck for millions.

RENTERS BEWARE!

Terrible Service

Customer service does not do their job. I had a trip fail to confirm. It went 48 hours past the deadline. Airbnb never alerted me of any issues. I noticed there was an issuer and reached out to Airbnb. Airbnb continuously told me the host had 24-hours to respond. This is well beyond 48-hours after that deadline had expired. I troubleshot the situation and figured out the error. Fixing the error caused my $40.00 credit to disappear.

Airbnb repeatedly told me it did not disappear and it never existed. I troubleshot the situation and uncovered the credit automatically applied to another planned trip (yes I have multiple trips planned and thousands of dollars tied up in this service and was still treated this way).

After hours of Airbnb giving me misinformation. I performed their job and sorted everything out. Ultimately, I had to rebook the trip. An explanation for the original error was never provided. Airbnb offered no compensation for nearly ruining my trip and for requiring I perform their jobs for them.

HIGHLY DISSATISFIED.

I have stayed all over the world with…

I have stayed all over the world with Airbnb for years. I only use a superhost and check out the site well. I was asked once to lie, ended up cancelling next day due to her shadiness, wasn't offered a refund. about $1000. About 9 months later I found she was renting illegally. I reported her, was told she'd have to pay back every person who ever rented from her and a HUGE fine from the city. It took Airbnb about 3 months of asking if I ever got my money back. I kept proving to them NO and when I threatened they withhold it one more day, I was turning them into the attorney general for the state of CA. I immediately got my refund.
Its been more positive than negative
This last superhost, the place was filthy. I have pictures, black mold, could tell she hadn't vacumed in weeks. So much funky around the sink faucet and bath they needed to replace.
Took pics but they don't care to see them.

Airbnb Deletes Bad reviews for some listing. DO NOT TRUST reviews!

I will file a law suit against Airbnb in 2 months, as soon as my upcoming non refundable reservations end.
I will also make a website airbnbscams, airbnb lies and more domain names like this. I will explain all the scams, lies, misleading, and airbnb actions in my website in depth. Because I had stayed at 28 airbnb places in 17 months . I did hours research to find a decent place in order to NOT to GET Screwed by airbnb Hosts. There are very few Honest enough host in airbnb listings, and airbnb already know all thiese scams because I have been telling them repeteadly last 17 months and yet airbnb does NOTHING to fix all these scams. Of course, If they remove all the scams, airbnb cannot Make any MONEY.
SCAMS:
1- You DO NOT KNOW where will you stay unless you book and pay. If you are not familiar with the area , you will end up very dangerous place BECAUSE even with 30 bad review, and 2.6 review score there are lots of listing still exist in airbnb. Airbnb DO NOT care if you are SAFE. They want your MONEY.
2 - Even though, there is NO BAD review, it does not mean that place is perfect BECAUSE Airbnb DELETES BAD REVIEW reviews of some host's listing to do a sweet favor, Just like airbnb case manager E..n..r , deleted my bad review about a host lying about me that I have left a dirty place, which I have recordings that show totally opposite, and I am suing them in March.
3- Shows kitchen in the list and yet 1 mini fridge, 1 microwave and a coffee maker is NOT a kitchen.
4 - Shows GYM in the listing, and some GYM is in the other building belong some other company, or apartment, or even I saw listed a gym but it is in the park!
5 - NON REFUNDABLE bookings.
6- "DO NOT TELL YOU ARE AIRBNB, JUST TELL YOU ARE A FRIEND" Scam. Yes, most of the airbnb hosts ask to me or even in their listing that I should tell any one if asks I am NOT airbnb guest. I should LIE I am their friend or relative. So, YOU ARE CHARGING ME $150 A NIGHT AND I HAVE TO LIE FOR YOU THAT I AM YOUR FRIEND! Hellooo, are you real? Then charge me $30 a night if you just want to scam your building staff, your neigbours, the tax department etc..
7 - NO REFUND if you stay there 1 night or two and fund out the host lied to you about something. Airbnb may refund you the rest of the stay if you move out, but you still MUST pay the nights you wre there JUST because a host lied to you.
8 - some time very loud another airbnb guests that will keep you all nigh up. There is NOTHING you can do.

So many that will take 10 pages. I will write all when I make my website airbnbscams.
There is a Host in Scottsdale, close by Days In around Talking stick hotel. His name starts N. He said there is a Gym, and I found out there was NEVER a gym. in his words, Days in was letting them use their gym but not anymore. Surprisingly, N. found out the very same day I checked in that Days in does not let his airbnb guests use the gym. WOW! Really? What a coincidence! So I have told airbnb, and I only got partial refund, I have lost $357 for 1 night, uber payments, groceries, and wasted time and money.

28 place I stayed , in 3 states and 2 countries. So many lies, scams, misleading info, and more.
My only reason was the Kitchen because I like to cook, OH BOY! Dirty utensils, lack of cooking materials, tiny fridges, more and more.
They charge $50 - $250 cleaning fees, and yet I have to clean again most of the places I have stayed. As I said in the beginning, very few Honest Host.

If you DO NOT SPEND MANY HOURS to read word by word, you are screwed. So many hidden fees, such as for Jacuzzi, or 2 bedroom apartment BUT $38 for only 1 person, the second person is $16 extra per night, extra deposits and cash deposits. Resort fees, this and that AND top of all, airbn charge almost $13% -15% and yet NO REAL Help if the host is NOT agree. Airbnb only helps if the host willing to help. Other wise you are screwed by Airbnb.
NO MORE AIRBNB for me. I will continue to stay at hotels.

Look at cancellation policy carefully before you book

When you book a place with Airbnb never book a place with a strict cancellation policy. If you cancel as little as 48 hours after making the reservation even 2 months before, you will only get refunded 1/2 the room. I now look at all the fine print.and only book with flexible or maybe moderate cancellation refund and read carefully. We found out hard way and customer service won’t help you and host are just greedy.

Bad policy on using gift vouchers

While at an Airbnb stay, I was given vouchers to use. I uploaded them before the end of the trip to apply to the cost but because Airbnb charged me for the full stay 2 weeks before I even started the trip (and before any cancellation policy kicked in) they’re now not allowing me to use the vouchers. I don’t know 1) why they charge people weeks ahead of time, and 2) why their customer support is so unhelpful. Now I’m stuck with vouchers for a service I no longer want to use after this bad experience.

AirBnB is not serious

I’ve got a rental in Kyoto, with big differences between the presentation and the reality and after the longest 7 days of my life, AirBnB erased my bad review from the host’s page telling me that was inappropriate with some unknown rules. No opportunity for replacing the review with a new one has not been given. Don’t trust the ratings. If a host is unhappy with the review is quickly erased from their page. I will reconsider my attitude to this app. No longer bookings though AirBnB. And I spent more then 10000€ last year on AirBnB.

Booking is not guaranteed by site or host!

We booked an entire house for March 2020, back in September. Just got notified that the rental was cancelled by the host, no explanation. Evidently they can cancel for a longer term reservation or for more money at hosts whim. The cancellation policy for the customer is very strict, but for the host it just involves a little penalty. I cancelled my account.

AIRBNB IS A SCAM

AIRBNB IS A SCAM. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. The ad said entire house with double room. I got to the location it was a room inside a dirty garage. The location had no lock on the garage door, no heat, and it was dirty. I immediately called AIRBNB customer service to request a refund. I took pictures of the location and sent it to AIRBNB. I've been on the phone with AIRBNB for the past 3 days and I still haven't gotten a refund.

I can't believe that airnb is getting…

I can't believe that airnb is getting away with ripping off unsuspecting customers. I just had a bad experience with these unethical money mongers. I booked a property for 3 days, as soon as I was confirmed the host sent me rules to abide by, such as the hours that they wanted me to use their property, (the hosts live on the property) startedtalking about additional costs food, transportation and the behavior. I did not like the rules, and immediately notified then that I wanted to cancel. They said to contact airnb. Airnb says I am not eligible for a refund because the hosts have a strict policy. I do not want to be forced to accept terms that I do not agree with!

AIRBNB LIES AND DOESN'T CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS.

Booked a trip for NYE. Had my CC charged by Airbnb for half my stay. Received call two days later the host double booked and the other reservation was for more time so they chose them instead. So my reservation was canceled. Airbnb promised to pay the difference between that rental and the only other rental available to our large party for that time in same place. They put it in writing, and then reneged anyway after hours of debate with 7 different 'supervisors'. This company is a JOKE. They don't have real managers that handle customer complaints, just a bunch of little kids working for minimum wage. I will never use this service again, as VRBO is much more customer service driven. I am deeply troubled by the lack of concern for their customer base. It seems the other rental sites have a lot more options anyway. DON'T USE AIRBNB, THEY LIE AND DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS.

Buyer beware

My first experiences with Airbnb as a traveler on personal and business travel were very positive. This summer, I booked a trip with an owner who was not honest about their property and did not post an exterior of the property. My complaints to both the owner and Airbnb were not taken seriously and the owner delayed posting my negative review of the property. The owner was not willing to rectify my concerns. Airbnb did nothing to satisfy my dissatisfaction with the property and the owner's price for the mediocre dwelling. Even after I provided a negative review of the Airbnb's handling of my complaint, I never received any feedback or attempts to remedy my concerns. Airbnb exists to provide a revenue source to property owners not to create a level market for buyers and sellers. As a consumer, you are at the mercy of the web site and the owners wanting to make a buck off their properties.

Willfully inconsiderate

I had booked a stay at an airbnb in San Francisco and had every intention of going. My friends and I were very excited to be going on this vacation before we had to get back to life. However, life happens, and as most companies know and understand this, exceptions can be made. Our car broke down the day before our check in. We tried everything to be able to go despite this inconvenience but nothing could be done. The car was shot, we are too young to rent, we were out of options. We called and we explained or situation with the hope that something could be done. During my very first interaction I was told that a partial refund by the company could be made, but a full refund was up to the discretion of the hosts. For days I went back and forth with the company and the hosts with nothing being accomplished. They talked me in circles to death and ultimately revoked every agreement made and decided to leave us with nothing. We were out $472, a broken car, and no money to fix it, and beyond that no common decency was shown. While I recognize this is not a hotel, hotels recognize that life happens and has up to a 24 hour cancellation from check in for extenuating circumstances. We called and explained far before the 24 hour mark. I suggest that aribnb adopt a system similar to this and have more control over the hosts. The airbnb support team and company claims that they have no control and that their hands are tied and do not have the ability to help in any way beyond what the hosts are willing to do. Time and again we were put on hold, made to wait for nothing to ever be accomplished. It was beyond upsetting and disappointing to have this experience. If nothing could be done at least show the common decency to follow through so that one does not have to be strung along for days with ultimately no results. I will not be using airbnb ever again for my vacation stays.

AIrbnb customer service is Horrible…

AIrbnb customer service is Horrible Horrible Horrific! They don't give a damn about Hosts property. You are taking all the risk. If you have a problem with a guest you have to call and talk to a foreign call center then wait for a response. Whenever you call they are sending your call to India, Asia, South America, Africa. They don't give a damn about our country or what they are doing. They just want to take commission off your property and efforts. The insurance is a complete lie. They are backing it and it is up to their discretion whether they will reimburse you. They are lying about checking the guests background. All anyone needs is a generic email, gift card and they can gain access to your home. It is absolutely insane! We are risking 100,000 of dollars just to make a hundred or so. Now they don't require a photo and won't even show you the people who have photos for you to decide if you want to take the booking. They don't collect a security deposit like they say they do. Again it is them who is backing it. Their website is clunky and disorganized and unintuitive. On mobile they hide the details of the listing which caused even more confusion and problems. I regret ever getting involved with Airbnb!

Horrible Airbnb first experience nasty run!

It was my first time using Airbnb, I used it hesitantly because a friend of mine had used it with great success on a country trip and stayed at multiple Airbnb locations. I booked the trip nearly two months in advance. About two days before our arrival I emailed the host asking what the accommodations had as far as cooking I was promptly informed that if I were to do extensive cooking there would be additional charges isn't that what a kitchen is for. upon our arrival the power was down so we ended up having to stay in a hotel with the host did refund we are unable to inspect the property however it did seem worn and unclean thinking it was just because the host did not have time to clean it we stay the night in the hotel and came back the next day we unpacked both my husband and I kept looking at each other saying how dirty it was but maybe our standards were too high. The host husband came in and said that you know they would read quest that we not use the washer and dryer which was in a common area as much because it was inconvenience because of a past guess who in their words, use it at all hours and all the time. Upon waking the next morning I found the baked goods the host had left for us covered with ants everything on the countertop covered with ants we tested the host after we cleaned up as I did cook breakfast and they said they would try to remedy the situation and buy some ant bait her words were sorry to have this problem again apparently it's happened previously.we arrived home that night to see the ant bait one set out what the other is laying on the counters there was still ants around but we made an exception I am a husband cleaned the countertop spraying it with ant spray that we bought and we took a shower in The moldy shower with cobwebs in the corners and bodily fluids on the walls. The refrigerator was dirty the master bedroom bed sunk in the middle the twin beds in the second bedroom were almost uninhabitable due to the sewer gas smell all surfaces were Dusty cobwebs everywhere once we truly God in the light of day to inspect everything everything just had a sad Warren feeling on top of the dirty. After two nights of this sleepless nights my children being unable to sleep in their bedroom and just overall lack of care and support we packed up and went to a hotel we requested a refund and then was given because the host said that they provided solutions they did have a basement room that they offered however the level of cleanliness probably was the same and we would have had to deal with the host being rather snide. As a farm girl I am used to bugs however I am not used to dust cobwebs unknowns on the wall and just general shoddy workmanship as there were several areas where the carpentry work to finish work was not accomplished appropriately it was not charming 2 bedroom apartment in Boyds Maryland it was a dirty shawty nightmare. We contacted Airbnb support and they refunded us $57 because well it was deemed the host had provided alternatives so we were out 600 plus dollars and due to the late notification hotel reservation that we had to make over a memorial day weekend out more than we planned. Please run! Never use Airbnb as they do not have your back, they support their host more than they do their guests. The host wrote a rather nasty review. I have pictures I sent them to Airbnb support but they said I could have doctored them they said that I could have taken them at my own place or the hotel ...shenanigans! Again run never use Airbnb I will stick with a hotel in the future at least I have recourse there.

Airbnb is the worst

Airbnb is the worst. I had always used VRBO and will never use Airbnb again. The host wrote horrible, untrue things about us as guest. Once they tell lies about you it's out there. You can write a rebuttal but that's it. I went to Airbnb and they say they deal with host but in fact nothing was done. This experience ruined what was a great trip. I have traveled using VRBO for years and never had any problems. If your traveling to the Corpus Christi TX area beware of Renata.

$921.00 not refunded..

i made reservations in march for dc, i canceled end of april. they are telling me my cancellation wasnt done 48 hours i made them nor 14 days before the trip so i get not a dime back of my reserve amount of $921.00. they are saying i would have had to paid the full amount of the bill for 4 days almost $2000.00 to get back 50% of it. so in other wards, they still get half my money either way. No where in the cancellation contract does it say anything about getting a refund only if its paid, so in other wards they get half the money.. $921. is a lot and i dont and am not just giving my money away.. to be continued..
