On January 1st 2026 I left a bag on an Air Canada flight to Belgium containing gold jewelry and two watches, extremely valuable personal items.

It has now been 5 MONTHS and I have received ZERO response from Air Canada.

I also want to point out something that many passengers experience: Air Canada deliberately makes their complaint process as complicated and confusing as possible so that frustrated passengers give up. Broken links, endless redirects, automated replies that lead nowhere, all designed so that nobody successfully complains. This is a disgrace.

I contacted Brussels Lost & Found directly and they confirmed the bag never left the plane. Air Canada is fully responsible.

I am extremely disappointed and I kindly ask Air Canada to please look into my case urgently and contact me as soon as possible. I just want my belongings back or to know what happened to them.

Air Çanada or as they should be know as delayed again. I’m now on my 3rd delay of the evening. How can a company so big always have broken down planes. Honestly terrible service ànd what’s worse once we get on board we Thén have to put up with their terrible customer service aswell. I rank air çanada with airlines like spirit airlines in the us. Or even worse delta airlines. Air çanada you truly suck

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

AVOID! AVOID!! AVOID!!!

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Air Canada and the handling of my baggage claim.

My luggage was delayed during my trip to Punta Cana, resulting in additional inconvenience and expenses. When I eventually received my suitcase, I discovered that several items were missing. I followed Air Canada’s claims process, submitted the documentation requested, obtained invoices where possible, and even paid for documents to be notarised at my own expense.

Despite my efforts to comply with every request, the process became increasingly frustrating. Additional documentation was repeatedly requested, including requirements that were difficult or impossible to obtain after returning to the UK. After months of correspondence and time spent gathering evidence, my claim was ultimately rejected.

What has disappointed me most is not just the outcome, but the customer service experience throughout the process. I felt that the burden was placed entirely on me to prove what happened, despite reporting the issue promptly and cooperating fully.

While the flight itself was acceptable, the baggage handling and claims process left me feeling unsupported as a customer. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend that anyone travelling with valuable items ensure they have comprehensive travel insurance and retain every possible receipt and document.

Unfortunately, this experience has significantly reduced my confidence in travelling with Air Canada again.

Air Canada staff misbehaviour and humiliation

Air Canada staff misbehaved with me many times. However, My life's most humiliating experience is with Air Canada. One ground staff lady just pushed me while I was in queue, then she start humiliating me. Once my turn came to counter, she started shouting on me. Follow passengers tried to help me out to get out from this trauma. The worst thing with Canada is that consumer doesn't have any choice, be it Aviation, telecom, utility or any service sector. Either you have to live in stone age or with this bad-mouthed and ill practices business (?) organizations (commi regime).

No blankets for the long late trip

It should been rated 5 starts but one thing makes the service become poor : the flight doesn’t set up the blankets for customers for the long late trip from Montreal to Vancouver.

Absolute garbage of an airline

Absolute garbage of an airline. Flying from Hong Kong to Ottawa stopping over in Vancouver and the air attendants are like zombies. My flight from Vancouver to Ottawa had to be cancelled because of an engine leak when everyone had already boarded. Does no one check this before the plane docks at the gate?? Going to arrive in Ottawa 7 hours later than originally intended and all I get is a measly 15 dollar voucher that cant even buy a YVR sandwich charged at like 30 dollars. But sure, they’ve got such a comprehensive network so they’ll continue ripping Canadians off without any intention of improving.

I will never travel with this airline…

I will never travel with this airline again. I booked a flight to go to Toronto and was travelling with another individual. I had attempted to do the online check in within the 24 hour window at home before arriving at the airport. This was not possible as my partner's ETA was not recognised. On arrival at the airport a customer services rep made no attempt to ask us what flight we were on. We joined a large queue which had two check in agents. It took forever to get to the front of the queue with one of the check in agents being taken out by passengers going down the side of the queue. There were three check in agents on speedy boarding with no queue chatting. Half an hour later we got to the front of the queue and were then summoned over to the speedy boarding queue. No problem with my passport or ETA and the agent said that my partner did not have an ETA and had to call Canada Border Service with them saying that there was no ETA. Shunted across to a second desk with the rep then confirming there was a valid ETA and them then saying to me that I would have to pay for a new flight. No customer service presence and we were told to call expensive numbers on a piece of paper.

Complaint was made to customer services and they took forever to respond and said that I could have boarded the flight despite not being given a boarding pass or bag being checked in.

Customer service is non-existent and this airline were contradictory in relation to the events at the check in desk and their claim that I could have checked in.

I will never fly with this company again.

The lowest of the low

It seems this airline (and many others) keep getting their bar placed lower. On a recent flight to and from California, the legroom was immoral and indecent. The snacks were an insult, boarding the plane was a shock, with a very rude agent making things even more disorganized and the flight was delayed 3.5 hours. Some folks got food vouchers, we did not.....no equity at all. If I ran an airline like this, I would expect to be fired.

Never fly Air Canada

I’ve had so many problems with Air Canada I don’t even know where to start. And I’m an “elite 75K member” who they supposedly prioritize. Can’t imagine what regular paying customers have to deal with.

On this particular instance, my flight was delayed out of Halifax, it caused me to miss my connecting flight in Toronto. They rebooked us on a new flight, which was canceled 10 minutes before we boarded. They then split our file and booked us on two separate flights for the next day. Took us two hours to get our luggage and then went to the hotel that they booked us in and it turned out to be the wrong hotel. The hotel that we were supposed to go to was five hours away! We called Air Canada explaining that the hotel they booked us in wasn’t actually the airport hotel but was five hours away and they told us they couldn’t do anything from outside the airport. So we called around for an hour to try to find a hotel and everything was booked. Finally woke up a friend and stayed there. I’m now back at the airport ready for my flight and…shocker…it’s delayed.

Worst airline ever

Worst airline ever. Stuck in Turks and Caicos from morning until 7pm just for the idiots to announce that the flight was cancelled. Something they could have said way before I just hate this airline so much.

I have been trying to get through to…

I have been trying to get through to air canada support for 2 days now. I’m left on hold for hours at a time! I do not have the time for this!!! They are so inconsiderate, I have so much anger built up regarding this airline and I am not looking forward to flying with them next month. Still haven’t spoken to a representative, I will try again tomorrow. It seems they have 2 people working customer service help line for 10,000 calls. How long do I need to wait?? I am so angry.

Terrible Customer Service and Unecessary Seat Change

Extremely disappointing experience with Air Canada. Our business class seats were changed without proper notice or explanation, separating us after we had booked seats together well in advance. I spent hours on the phone being transferred around, only to receive little help and unclear information. To make it worse, the aircraft was later switched back, meaning the entire seat cancellation and rebooking mess was unnecessary.

For a premium booking, the service was disorganized, frustrating, and unacceptable. This experience has seriously made me reconsider flying with Air Canada again.

Absolutely shocking customer service,

Absolutely shocking customer service,
Missed .y flight due to another airline cancelled flight,
Ok not there fault spoke to them informing them I booked a new flight one way with them at a cost of £600 each to then find out my return flight cancelled because I didn't get the original flight out
Even though I spoke to them and booked another flight with them at no point informing me I would have my return cancelled. Customer support awful takes 2 hrs to get someone to answer and basically all you get is but you missed your flight.
Even though I told the. I was going to miss it and booked another at a cost. Had I been informed I needed to return flight i could have got that when I booked my new flight for approx £80 - £100 more but now I have to pay another £450 obviously used another airline would never fly with Aircanada again. I could have had cheaper flights with a different airline to start with but thought Aircanada would be a better airline how wrong was I.

Terrible seats and entertainment system

Just got off a 9 hour flight from Zurich to Toronto on Air Canada and I see why the airline gets terrible reviews. We paid a lot extra for Premium Economy yet the seats were rock hard and miserable. Leg room was fine. My seat did not have working electronics so I had no overhead light to read by or to call the flight attendant for the entire flight. Gave up on watching a movie after the system shut down and did lengthy reboots 3 times. Flight attendants were not friendly and didnt smile once the entire time. I will never fly this airline again if I have other options.

Air Canada Refused 95-Inch Sail Tube Despite 115-Inch Allowance

Very disappointed with our experience with Air Canada traveling to the Optimist North American Championship in Halifax.

We carefully checked Air Canada’s sporting equipment policy before flying, which clearly states they accept equipment up to 115 inches. Our Optimist sail tube was only 95 inches long, yet staff at Miami International Airport still refused to allow it on the flight.

As competitive sailors, the sails are essential equipment. Because of this decision, my son had to travel to one of the biggest championships of the year without his sails, affecting his preparation and competition.

What makes this even harder to understand is that our connecting flight AC664 from Montreal to Halifax was operated on a large Airbus A330 aircraft with significant cargo space.

We trusted the published policy and planned our trip accordingly. Unfortunately, the policy was not honored, causing unnecessary stress, inconvenience, and additional expenses during an important international event.

I hope Air Canada reviews this situation seriously and improves staff training so future athletes and families do not experience the same issue.

Still Questioning the Upgrade.

We booked an Air Canada all inclusive vacation to the Blue Bay Esmeralda Resort in Riviera Maya, Cancun, Mexico, Dec.31 - Jan. 7, 2026. To surprise us, our son paid for an upgrade to the Garden View room at an additional cost of $400 and an extra $190 for his room. Upon arrival, when we asked the resort about the upgrades, we were informed that every room in the complex is considered a Garden View room and that upgrades do not exist, aside from an Ocean View or partial Ocean View room. Furthermore, our room overlooked a few trees and there was no garden to speak of. While there, it was impossible to directly contact Air Canada. In filling out their required contact form, we kept getting the response "cannot be submitted at this time, try again later." The Air Canada resort representative was also of no help. To this day, we have been unable to recoup our additional room costs, and it is impossible to get a hold of the correct Air Canada department, either by phone or email to resolve this issue.
