They cancelled my flight - just because they got a new one after 24 hours, they said it was okay as it was due to "safety reasons" - no payment, nothing. I spent additional close to 600 CAD for an a... See more

Five hours and twenty-two minutes wait…
Five hours and twenty-two minutes wait to speak to an agent. Five hours of listening to repetitious nerve numbing music and recorded voices repeatedly telling us to try our luck online... yeah right... good luck with that too...
Am in the restaurant business...if I treated my customers this way, I'd be out of business in a week!
Come on Transat... how about a little respect for the people who put your bread on the table!
Do not book with These frauds
Booked my flight from San Jose to Toronto and just after my 15 days they canceled my flight The trip protection is only refundable for 15 days. They have zero customer service and should be investigated for stealing peoples money. The stress alone from this is insane. Spread the word do not use this horrible airline. I am now booking through delta wish me luck
Shockingly bad
Shockingly bad. I booked first time before COVID hit and, understandably, the flights had to be cancelled. However, even before the advent of COVID they had been messing us around with several changes to the flight times. Made the mistake of booking again with them a month or two ago and the flight time has now been changed not by a few hours but by 2 days! This would clearly necessitate more expense in terms of hotels on our part. We've cancelled for a full refund and rebooked with Air Canada instead. No doubt it will take an age (up to 12 weeks quoted) to get our money back - funny how they can process it much quicker the other way round when they are taking money off customers! No doubt also we'll get the normal platitudes in terms of excuses for this.
This is the most awful company I booked…
This is the most awful company I booked my flight with. Their waiting times are ridiculous to be able to speak to someone, they messed up my booking too by correcting it wrong. Save yourself time and money and never book with them.
On my international flight this company…
On my international flight this company in Sept 2021 whom I've flown with about 25 times they served us a COLD sandwich & NO COFFEE - even though the itinerary states they serve a warm meal. Another company using co××d as an excuse to save $, raising fares & treating passengers lile cattle. Terrible treatment of passengers. Am disgusted....pretty soon they'll charge for toilet paper...what a mickey mouse organization....
Horrible customer service experience
Horrible customer service experience. Was denied boarding from YUL to FLL by US customs due to Trump’s travel ban. Attempted to cancel the flight less than 24 hours before take off. Spent almost 1 month trying to reach an Air Transat agent and waited a combined total of 8 hours on hold (plus their messenger service is awful .. they keep stating a live agent will show up and never does) for them to tell me they’ll refund me only part of the taxes!! And when I stated I paid for my checked bag they told me I paid at the airport and they are not affiliated with that. ?? I paid the air Transat counter at the airport. Just awful service. And the agent today (montreal office) was very rude on the phone even though she knew I was on hold for 4 hours … just awful… save yourself the trouble and book with another airline.
Not a Good Company at All
We booked a vacation from them for Punta Cana from October 1 to October 5. Firstly, they charged us again for flex option even though any booking can be cancelled in 24 hours. Secondly, their representative met us in the lobby at 2.30pm and he told us not to do anything before we meet him. He just wasted our vacation time. Thirdly, their shuttle bus on our way back left just because we were 5 minutes late. The bellboy there could make the bus come back but this shows really bad service from Air Transat. This company should not be chosen unless it is the only choice (which is unfortunate). They give very bad service.
Stolen money from booking in early 2020
Frauds
Here was my experience flying with Air Transat:
I didn't.
tl;dr: If they mess up? It's your problem and they'll ignore you.
They gave the wrong information to Expedia on where to check in. I was very early for my flight so I assumed the fact that there was nobody at the Air Transat check-in station was perhaps due to this (all of the surrounding airlines had all of their stalls full, so it presumably wasn't a COVID thing). It was still, however, clearly marked as the "Air Transat Check In" so I just waited for a while.
It got uncomfortably close to flight time with still no clerks. So I proceeded to ask an empty counter of a rival airline what the situation was. They told me that Air Transat's terminal had moved way over to the over end of the airport, at the end of international flights. This is a domestic airline and a domestic flight, so already that's nonsensical. But what would've been REALLY nice is if they had left any indication for us to proceed to the proper area.
So I run over to the correct area and the result is that I'm too late to get my baggage checked so I can board my plane. But guess what? There's at least 7 other people there who were identically affected. And apparently this is such a recurring issue that even the staff at the check-ins are tired of it and tired of having to deal with upset passengers and that they even have no idea why the terminal is where it is right now.
The lady who operates it checks our I.Ds, matches them with the flights, and then writes all of our names down saying she's going to pass it along to higher ups.
Now... Good luck trying to get your refund! Go through Expedia? They say it's Air Transat's responsibility. Try to contact Air Transat? Good luck getting customer service. You'll be on hold for however long it takes for you to give up, guaranteed. Enjoy the delightful sounds of some 20 something singing you bad covers of Paradise City and Billie Jean because you're going to be hearing them at least 40 times a piece per hour.
Try contacting them through one of their text based customer service options? They'll give you a response maybe once a day. The best I got was "Hey sorry pal, you were at the wrong counter, you need to book another flight, nothing we can do". And then gave me some information about finding the correct counter that would be very useful if I owned a time machine.
Awful, awful, awful experience. Would give 0 stars if I could. I sincerely didn't think an airline could be this bad in Canada because I thought everything was so heavily regulated. What a disaster.
No refund and no customer service
No refund and no customer service
My flight was canceled in March of 2020, and I was subsequently given a voucher. I used this voucher to partially purchase a flight for April 2021, having to spend £4 to cover the cost difference between the two flights. This flight was also canceled. I was approved for a refund, but they refunded only the £4 and not the full cost of £250, saying they will be completed in two transactions and shall receive the former amount shortly. I've now waited over three months and have yet to receive my full refund. My calls are now dropped every time I call customer service, and my emails remain unanswered. At this point I am doubtful Airtransat will refund my flight.
No Flight, No Refund, No Customer Service
My flight was canceled for COVID-19 back in March of 2020. I was approved for a refund, but they refunded to a card that was paid off and closed. My bank refused the refund, so the money was sent back to Air Transat. Air Transat refuses to provide me with a refund through another route, they have stopped answering my chat messages, and "coincidentally" my calls are now dropped every time I call customer service. They had told me getting a letter from my bank confirming the refund was refused would help. I sent the letter via email to the correct address given, checked in two times since, and still have not received a response there either. They have essentially blocked me on all avenues of communication, even though I was never rude or confrontational.
Their flight attendant she is…
Their flight attendant she is prostitute and her name is Lucille Orcullo, she is matchmaker and she is providing girls for pilots for sex , she is doing prostitute activity in the company and she is receiving money from both side , pilots and the prostitute and she refer , she should get warning ⛔️
Do not fly with a Canadian Company
Do not fly with a Canadian Company. I have been ripped off. I used Air Transat and have been trying to get the money they owe me back. I have taken my case to the CTA and have had no joy. I believe CTA stands for Canadian Transport Authority, but they do not ensure customers get a fair deal. I would expect them to take me to court making such a claim about them, they won’t though because the would have no argument.
BLOCKED ME FROM CONTACTING THEM ON FACEBOOK
They used customer money during coronavirus like it was short-term loan.
They cancelled my flight but wholeheartedly believed that it made sense for them to keep my money invested as a credit note. "Times are hard", they said, and "we need this money to stay afloat". Sorry, but I have absolutely nothing to do with your company and I need my money in my pocket.
After six months of battling for a chargeback via Monzo, they admitted they had lied and broken the law in the UK. They agreed they should refund both legs of my journey by law (and they did), but it seems like they're still trying to fob other passengers off by only offering a refund for the outbound flight. Don't give up, just keep quoting the regulations at them -- the law says they must refund for any flight departing from or arriving at any EU airport.
They know they're in the wrong and I have no idea why they're still allowed to operate. To make it even worse, it is difficult to contact them on anything other than social media, and when I told them I was entitled to a refund by law, they blocked me!
Stay away!
I literally could not recommend more to stay away from them. My parents have been fighting to get their refund (which they're entitled to because the flight got cancelled due to COVID) for months. They were promised the refund had been issued in MARCH. When nothing happened, they blamed it on my parents' bank, saying European banks would commonly refuse refunds, which I thought didn't make any sense but ok. Fast forward a few days, and my parents got an email about all vouchers now being eligible for refunds instead because they got some $$ from the government (in my opinion, they never sent my parents the money and were just stalling until they get funds). My parents applied through their form, and surprise: no refund! Transat claims that it was issued end of May already. Still, my parents haven't received anything, and their financial institution assured them that international refunds would be no problem, so I know it's not the bank. The shadiest thing is that my parents were trying to contact Transat, and it looks like they totally shut off. Email addresses that worked before suddenly don't work anymore, and the email comes back, hotlines are constantly busy, and they tried to reach someone through chat today, and it's been 7 hours without a response so far. STAY AWAY.
Cancelled with no notice
Went to check-in for my flight 24 hours before take-off and found out it was cancelled with no notice. Apparently, we should have been 'watching the news'.
We had our flights to Canada cancelled…
We had our flights to Canada cancelled in April 2020 but still have not given us a refund .we are now involved section 75 through our credit card company. It has been an absolute nightmare
If you've booked with them - prepare to fight for your money back
Like eveyone else - we are having issues with trying to claim our money back after they cancelled, then refused to refund our money. Appalling customer service, with often being forgotten on hold or kept there for 30 minutes and being surprised we were still holding.
Great people the Canadians - however this company is a poor representation.
We'll be pursuing the claim back option also if they refuse to budge
In-cabin pet carrier size reduction
This is ridiculous, they have just reduced the height of in-cabin pet carrier requirement to approx 17cm (from 21cm), there is no carrier on this earth that is that size. The dog or cat would have to be the size of a mouse to fit under the seat! Air Canada's height restriction is 27cm, come on Air Transat, who makes up these rules?
Terrible!
Really terrible to deal with - avoid at all costs (as we will in future).
Our flights to Canada were cancelled because of the pandemic and, as is the case with a lot of other airlines, we were only offered a travel credit. We then rebooked for a year on, paying the £12 difference.
Later in the year those rebooked flights were cancelled, and we received an email in December saying that under EU law we were (finally!) entitled to a partial refund. Four months on we're still waiting and I've now been told that the refund will only be for the £12 because the rest will be refunded... to the travel credit which we booked with.
There are no answers to emails (Facebook is the only way I've managed to get replies) and the phone lines are bad to the point of being unuseable.
I feel for the customer service staff, who have been pretty friendly but clearly completely lost and having to tell customers nothing but bad news and mad policies all day long.
Having booked in much better economic times, we're not even sure we can afford to go to Canada anymore (we'd have to pay out for accommodation etc.), let alone lose the £1,000 or so of our money that Air Transat has. Avoid at all costs!
