Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 137 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people found essential product features, such as live viewing and recording, unexpectedly locked behind mandatory subscriptions, rendering their devices useless without payment. Customers frequently reported that their doorbell cameras and other products stopped working reliably or failed to perform core functions like detecting movement. The associated application was often criticized for issues including continuous logouts, slow connection times, and intrusive advertisements. Additionally, many felt misled as products initially advertised with free features later required payment, leading to frustration and some facing unexpected and high subscription fees. Reviewers also reported difficulties canceling recurring charges and noted unresponsiveness from customer service when trying to resolve product or payment issues.

Wish I'd read the reviews

Wish I'd read the reviews.
I fitted our doorbell fully charged on Saturday. On Monday morning there was 8% charge left. The bell was only used twice.
I charged it fully again and refitted it in the evening. It rang once for the postman on Tuesday. It is now (Wednesday) showing 10%.
I have tried to contact Aiwit to no avail.
Stay clear...it's rubbish.

It doesn't deserve even 1 star

It doesn't deserve even 1 star. What a rip off. These people should be shut down. Junk, junk, junk. No help whatsoever. They don't even respond to chat. There troubleshooting does not work. If you made the mistake of buying anything from Aiwitt just throw it away.Save yourself a nervous breakdown because there is no help and shit is shit no matter what you do. It's worth 10 times what it cost to not be put through this. Aiwitt should legally be made to quit robbing people. No different than all the other trashy dishonest scammers. Theft is theft.

This camera doorbell is the worst thing…

This camera doorbell is the worst thing I've seen on the market. I've had mine for 9 months and it just stopped working and they don't have any customer service. All you get is an app Just Answer and they want $5.00. This company is a scam and so is aiwit. Don't buy anything from AIWIT.

Terrible app and service

Terrible app - laggy and confusing. Not great quality video. The motion mask is not great so it still alerts for this in the street. And why on earth do you have to pay to watch videos - the option should be there to store locally must as it is with done other video security cameras. Also this is sold under another name and is cheaper - still use Aiwit app though.

So Amazon won’t let me write a review…

So Amazon won’t let me write a review SHOCKER!!! Just pay the extra for a ring!!!! Sometimes I’ll get an activity notification and it literally takes 40 seconds to load. Person or whatever was there and gone in that time! Basically you get what you pay for! Lesson learned!!! It’s CRAP in a nutshell

Costly Subscriptions

Please make the costly subscription, £36 per device, obvious before any purchases are made. The cameras is good, but not the charges.

5-6 years and counting...

okay so not quite sure what's up with all these other folks reviewing, but this was the very first door bell cam i ever bought about 5 or 6 years ago. and i still use it (although i no longer use it as a "doorbell" cam). even back then it didn't say it had a paid subscription service but it also DIDN'T say it had a free cloud record service so being a human with common sense i assumed it costed a lil bit. anyone who reviewed 1 star for that reason needs head examined since that would be there fault for not doing there due diligence . but even then the cost of the camera was essentially nothing and the subscription price is the cheapest i had ever had before or after something like 3$ a month. even without sub it still will alert you to motion, alert for doorbell ring, live view, and 2way talk back.

as far as customer service i cant comment, i have never needed it. setup was simple (just followed on screen directions) and any issues i have had in the last several years i fixed myself without any issues. usually a internet issues that was my ISP's fault not EKEN/Aiwit

Could be worse.

Like others have mentioned, when buying my doorbell camera there was no mention of needing a cloud storage subscription in order to view my camera footage. However, I liked the camera enough, and the price was right for a yearly subscription for me. But I was still pretty annoyed about it not being mentioned prior to purchase. Other than the need for a subscription though, I've been pretty happy with my doorbell cam. Better than the last ones I tried.

DON'T WASTE MONEY ON THIS CAMERA

This camera sucks. It worked great for 3 weeks. Then when went to view images on the Aiwit app all of a sudden I was asked to login. Well, when I went to login I kept getting the message that the email and password were incorrect. This is the only email and password I’ve used for three weeks. I forgot to mention that the factory reset does not work either. So, then I figured I would change the password. Instead of the forgot password prompt, it says forget password and take you to a screen where you enter your email address (the what>) and confirmation code, new password and the blue confirm button. How are you supposed to get a confirmation code email if there is not enter button to select and the resend code button does not work? I’ve been waiting 3 days for the confirmation code to be emailed to me. So then chat with someone who as dumb question…have you checked you junk mail for the code? YES! Then of course there is no customer service telephone but for $5 you can get phone assistance. I was told the $5 is refundable. However, when I read the fine print the charge was $55 a month. What a rip-off. I have removed the camera, cancelled the service so it does not auto renew January 2026 and I guess between the cost of the camera the annual service fee are a lesson for future buyers. If you are considering purchasing the Orbitel or Aiwit Doorbell Camera from Amazon…DON’T. It is not work the headache. One star is too high a rating for this product.

Aiwit is a scam and a bunch of thieves

Aiwit is a scam and a bunch of thieves. They took my subscription amount from my account on 7 January 2025 for 1 year. Then they took the same amount (£29.99) for a 1 year subscripton on 3 February 2025. I have sent them countless emails for a refund and they haven't even got the common decency to respond. If you are thinking about purchasing a video doorbell from them...save your money and don't bother!!!!
