American signature furniture/ terrible company

Lousy company to buy from. Furniture is high priced, cheaply made. Ordered furniture in early November and was told it would be ready for pick up around Thanksgiving. Of course they lied. They called me and said we could pick up furniture on Dec 24. Got a call yesterday from a rude and disgusting employee who said furniture had been sitting in the store since Dec 1st and they couldn't hold it any longer. Ten day hold period. Responded to store and wanted to speak to manager about rude employees and lousy customer service. Was told manager was in meet and would call us. So call manager wasn't in a meeting. He just didn't want to talk to me and the wife. Sales person was rude when she initially sold us the furniture. She all of a sudden became friendly when she found out we had purchased furniture from there before. She acted even more friendly when she found out we had a 5000 credit limit. The sales woman was only acting friendly because she wanted us to purchase 5000 worth of furniture snd she get a larger commission. She was so phony. Her attitude changed back to being rude and unfriendly when told that we didn't need 5000 dollars in furniture. Our first purchase was around 3000 dollars. I called and spoke with the so called manager today. He sincerely didn't want to help me. He remained sarcastic and rude. But he did say that American signature furniture was having financial problems and had filed for bankruptcy. I can see why. They treat their customers like crap. DON'T buy anything from this store especially since they're going bankrupt. You'll be stuck with cheap furniture that falls apart and you won't be able to return it, get a refund or a credit. STAY AWAY! This company has major problems. Read all the reviews if you even thing about purchasing anything. BIG MISTAKE! They deserve zero stars
ITS CONFIRMED, AMERICAN SIGNATURE HAS FILED FOR BANKRUPTCY! Check it out for yourself. Don't buy anything from this store!

Delivery delay

I recently purchased furniture from American Signature-Madison,, and while the product quality met expectations, the delivery process left much to be desired.

The ordering process was smooth, and the showroom staff were helpful and knowledgeable. However, the issues began after the purchase. The promised delivery date was not met, and I experienced multiple delays without clear communication. I had to follow up several times to get updates, which was frustrating and inconvenient, especially when planning around the delivery.

When the items did arrive, they were in bad condition, mattress was soaked with rain water and one of the delivery guy was not polite. Still, the overall experience was impacted by the lack of timely delivery and coordination.

Waiting months for furniture without consistent updates or clear timelines is simply unacceptable. While the products may be nice, the delivery delays and lack of communication have completely ruined the experience for me.

Unfortunately, I won't be ordering from this shop again. If you're looking for timely delivery, I suggest looking elsewhere.

I hope the store addresses these logistics issues, as their furniture is well-made and stylish. Improved communication and a more reliable delivery system would significantly enhance the customer experience.

Beware of American Signature Furniture—Terrible Refund Process & Customer Service

I purchased over $9,500 worth of furniture from American Signature Furniture’s Cumberland Blvd, Smyrna location on 1/18/2025 and 1/19/2025. While my salesperson, Maimi, was friendly and accommodating, my overall experience with American Signature Furniture has been nothing short of frustrating.
Deliveries were delayed for over a month, and several items were missing. Eventually, everything arrived by 2/27/2025. Due to various issues, I decided to return a few items—a rug that was ordered in the wrong size (an error on their part), a chest, a nightstand, and two chairs. I was informed that a 15% restocking fee would apply, though my salesperson assured me it would be waived due to delivery delays.
I returned the rug in-store on 1/31/2025, per my salesperson’s instructions, but the manager was unavailable. I returned the next day, and the manager accepted the rug but did not process the refund immediately due to a system issue. The other furniture pieces were picked up on 2/1/2025 during a scheduled delivery.
Weeks passed with no refund issued. I made multiple calls—to my salesperson, the delivery store, and corporate customer service—only to receive constant assurances but zero action.
On 5/1/2025, I spent 1 hour and 21 minutes on the phone with customer service, speaking to a supervisor, Olivia, who confirmed that my returned items were never processed into inventory. Additionally, I learned that the furniture protection plan charges would not be refunded for the returned items, and despite prior assurances, corporate policy does not allow restocking fees to be waived. Olivia said she would email the manager to process the refund, but here I am on 5/24/2025 with no update, email, or refund.
After 3 months of waiting and countless calls, I still have not received my money back. This company’s lack of responsiveness, urgency, and professionalism is unacceptable.
🚨 I strongly recommend avoiding American Signature Furniture at all costs. Their refund process is a nightmare, and customer service does nothing to resolve issues. Save yourself the headache and shop elsewhere. I will never purchase from them again.

Logistic Delivery Debacle - Delivery Cancelled 4 Times

Extremely disappointing experience with Value City Furniture - Argyle Village, a local franchise store for American Signature Furniture. Our initial delivery was canceled without any prior notice, despite confirming the date several days in advance; eventually delivery is cancelled a total of 4 times! Reached out to corporate and they directed me back to store and to direct concerns up chain of command thru regional manager before they would intervene or address the situation. In total, we experienced four delivery cancellations. Communication was absent at first and then poor and misguided or detached, with the delivery and sales departments shifting blame and advising us to disregard the official tracking information via web portal link provided on purchase receipt.

At one point, the delivery operations manager proposed sourcing a missing item from another customer’s order, which raised serious ethical concerns. Subsequent cancellations were allegedly attributed to DOT restrictions involving their third-party carrier, even though our delivery date had been pre-scheduled.

The delivery store manager showed little empathy and offered repeated excuses rather than solutions. Despite multiple requests with both sales (Matthew T.) & delivery store manager (Lorin M.) to speak with regional manager (Jessica Twomey), we received no call from her. Overall, the lack of accountability and customer service was unacceptable in regard to Value City Furniture - Argyle Village. It’s also clear that customer care and responsibility are not priorities for this American Signature Furniture company and what it represents.

Poor Customer Service

Dealing with this company reminds me of buying a car. Once you buy the car and drive it off the lot, they don't want to hear from you if something is wrong, No matter how many times you call them or physically go into the store again, you just can't seem to get your furniture repaired. I highly suggest you go somewhere else.

Bellini Sectional Fabric - American Signature Furniture

DO NOT BUY - Bellini I purchased November 2023 the Bellini sectional (a left and right arm and 1 armless all recline). I called the sales person in January to tell him that the couch was either changing color, absorbing skin oils, or collecting color from our clothing. The sales person said that I should put in a claim on the extended warranty they sold me for $500ish. When I called to put in a claim, the fabric issue is not covered under the warranty?? I called the store manager, he sent a technician out to look at the couch and take pictures. After two weeks of hearing NOTHING from them I called, the customer service person said there was nothing they can do. When I asked for the manufacturers information, they would not give me the information to speak to them.
So the couch looks a mess... the fabric doesn't clean well... stains, dirt, or whatever it is smears instead of CLEANS. So I'm stuck with a couch that will look dirty until I purchase another one.
I'm disappointed that they will not admit that there is a problem with the fabric because I've seen MANY of these couches in the clearance area that look dirty that have been returned to them. I've been a customer of American Signature for years... here in Florida and in Ohio. Sorry that our relationship ends this way.

No integrity whatsoever. Stay away from this company.

I have been unable to get a problem unsuccessfully resolved with the new sofa that I purchased from you on March 23rd. The sofa was delivered on the morning of April 4th. When the delivery men unwrapped, the plastic covering the sofa there were two tears on the sofa fabric, one at the top corner and the other on the bottom corner on the same side.
The driver took a picture and said that he would report it when he returned to the store. I called the delivery store on Monday the 6th since Sunday was Easter to follow up and was told the damage to the sofa in delivery was never reported. I spoke with customer service who would not give me the number to a manager. I have made countless calls and set numerous emails, but have been unable to get anyone in the service department or management to call me back so I can get the damaged sofa that I received taken care of. I’m now to the opinion no that no one in the service department is going to call me back. They hope I will give up and just go away.
I was really looking forward in receiving my new sofa, but the delivery and the attempt to get the damage to the sofa resolved has been a total nightmare. I will call Goodwill and have them pick it up and go to a reputable furniture company and purchase a different sofa.

Absymal Operations

I have had nothing but an abysmal experience since purchasing a couch and bedroom set from American Signature. I was hoping that the saga had ended, but alas I am continuing to have issues with the furniture.

Let's start with the fact that it took over a year to receive our couch. That the bed frame delivered was broken and it took seven (7 that is right 7) different deliveries before American Signature delivered a piece that wasn't broken. Is that designer furniture if it breaks that easily? Is that how American Signature treats its products in transit? Weird, how I never had this issue with other furniture companies. Appears that this is also a common complaint with other customers.

The couch drawer was malfunctioning upon delivery and it took over a month to have a tech come out and fix it. During this time, the phone system is (and still is) malfunctioning. I would call the correct store only for another store to pick up the phone, who then couldn't help me because they didn't have access to our account. They would transfer me to the correct store only for another store to pick up the phone. Again, never had this issue with other corporations.

AND NOW, the couch, owning it less than a year, is already becoming discolored. This is leather and shouldn't be happening less than a year into ownership. I contacted American Signature who told me to contact the Warranty company. The Warranty company refuses to cover it because it doesn't cover items due to the inferiority of the product. I then contacted American Signature only for it to place blame back on the Warranty company.

Sadly, the poor customer service is not surprising anymore. American Signature is great at placing blame elsewhere (i.e., the factory in China is backed up; the Warranty company is at fault for denying your coverage; etc.). Every time I write a negative review of American Signature (and let me tell you I write a lot and will continue to write) the customer service responds with the non-helpful and generic response about "We are sorry. Please reach out for help with your issue." But when I reach out, customer service refuses to help. I would like for American Signature to explain why it has customer service if it doesn't provide any service let alone is helpful?

American Signature should take accountability and respect its customers. Its customers spend a lot of money on the furniture and yet once American Signature gets the money, the company doesn't give one hoot about the customer after that. I can see why its Better Business Bureau rating is a 1.85 out of 5; this is an 100% accurate rating of the company. The C-Suite Executives should be ashamed at how poorly this company is being run and operated.

I will continue to persuade prospective customers NOT to purchase from American Signature and will promote competitors who provide better quality products and superior customer service (though the bar is not set very high here). I realize I won't put American Signature out of business; heck, I won't even put a dent in the revenue, but if I got one person to not purchase from this poorly operated company then I feel good (and that is all that really matters).

Steer clear of this store

Steer clear of this store! Worst customer service - Deceiving information! We purchased a dining room set and a couple of nightstands in August 2023 with delivery date for October (nightstands) and December for the dining room set. Even with such a long delivery, we patiently waited. In November we found out the End chairs wouldn't be delivered until February 2024 and 1 week prior to the Initial December delivery date, we were told the dining table wouldn't' be delivered until Mid/End January! Really? What are we to do without a dining table?
We called to cancel and had to stress out to get the delivery fee refunded as well? Really? This is the worst experience EVER purchasing furniture and NO ONE should ever have to go through this! And then get stressed for not getting a partial delivery fee!? Who runs this company?
Do yourself a favor - purchase anywhere else but American Signature Furniture / Value City Furniture.

I right now would not even give them 1…

I right now would not even give them 1 star. I have tried to call over and over again with this company with a warrenty issue. I have been approved for the warrenty replacement. The issue is I no longer live in Jacksonville Florida I live in the state of Arizona. I can't just go in and pick it up. I'm trying to find a solution and no one there is helping me with this. They keep telling me the manager is never available. I call corporate they don't help really. I will never buy from a small company again due to there only in one location and if you move from there your screwed. I'm even willing to pay to have it shipped. But once again I can't even talk to anyone to fix the issue.....:(

Very disappointed with my purchase

I want to thank American Signature for doing the right thing. I had two pieces of my couches that weren't right when delivered and they replaced them. I really appreciate the fast turnaround. Great job ASF!

Good Customer Service

My wife and I bought the Cordelle Swivel Chair last year when we moved into our apartment. The frame came damaged but they worked with us to get a replacement at no extra charge. The replacement has held up well and I would buy from this company again.
