My 1yr old labrador became ill with a nasty bacterial infection in his digestive system. The vets contacted animal friends on day one to gain pre authorisation for treatment, which they gave and subsequently paid out with no quibbling. This made a very stressful time easier for me so I could concentrate on helping my dog get better and his recovery.

I started off paying £25 .93 pr month ( cheaper initially) then it DID NOT gradually creep up but jumped up to £80.54 per month. I went to the Ombudsman who investigated the unreasonable MONTHLY increase, the outcome was they can charge what they want but i had an insulting £150 credit from Animal Friends. My ongoing approach should I ever have another dog.Get insurance for 2 years , if there are no issues put your monthly money in your bank account ,name it Dog Insurance and do a standing order so if you need it it's there. Dog Insurance companies are not interested in looking after your dog only your money. Very dissapointed with their price increases and yes my dog is now 7 years old and they say the increase is his age, I hope he lives a few more years but I may need a bank loan...Ridiculous & unreasonable price increases. Shop around..Or put your money monthly aside and do WITH OUT Insurance..

Really unimpressed by the excess and the requirement for the vets practice ((GBP25) to respond to the insurance company. Maybe I should have read their i’s n C’s….
Avoid.

One of our dogs recently went for surgery that turned out to be far more extensive than expected. Animals Friends covered the cost up to our max with no qualms.

Been with them all my dogs life but every year and sometime twice a year they increase the price hugely and just Blaming the under righters. Would not recommend to customers. It’s all about money not your beloved pet

Animal Friends are the best. We have a little Shih- Tzu Poodle. She has encountered so many health problems in her short life. Every time anything happens Animal Friends pay out for her. She has just had her second operation- they paid within a few days. Thank you so much.

Prompt response to postal claim, although I was required to resubmit a document which had been included in the original claim, because the documents had not been checked carefully. Once I resubmitted the document payment was prompt and as expected.

no quibble fast reimbursement for vet fees when submitted by the vet through VetPawtal. A really good service, and when I needed to contact by phone, that was good too.

We have had a few claims over Baileys 9 years and so far we have no complaints. We always get Acorn vets to claim and the claims have always been sorted within a couple of days. We would highly recommend animal Friends pet insurance

My claim was made directly by the vet via the hub and was handled by Animal Friends promptly.
