Antalya Airport Reviews 

I have travelled the world though many airports over the last 60 years and Antalya Airport must rate as the worst experience for me in that time.
We were advised to arrive early by our air operator as there was a further security check. On arrival at the airport T2 we were subject to a bag Xray and body scan and then progressed to check in. After check came passport control followed by a more thorough baggage Xray and body scan. We thought that was it with security but the worst was yet to come. Aircraft gate information was posted at 20.05 with gate close advised as 20.55. After the inevitable hike we arrived at the gate to be met by an officious lady who visually scanned our passports and ticket after which my wife and I we waved through into the seating area and my daughter and grandson (8) were selected for further checks. The hand baggage of both were emptied and all electronic games consoles had to be removed and were subject to close visual inspection including being switched on and swabbed for some reason. After that came a personal body search by one of the two ladies carrying out the checks on on ladies and children. This was a close body examination on top of the clothing including the breast and genital areas carried out in full view of all the passengers at then gate. I saw young children being swabbed during this process. This whole process was random which I recognise is the purpose but with a plane load of 200 tourists at the end of a long day it caused a massive delay and an incredible level of unnecessary stress for I would say no credible risk mitigation when considering the risk profile of the passengers on that flight. We will never travel again to Antalya airport and would advise others to seek an alternate holiday to avoid the place. Many people we spoke to expressed the same opinion. The responsible authorities should look carefully at all of the adverse comments of a similar nature and look to improve the visitor experience.

This is the worst airport experience l have ever had to endure, l was in a party of 4 with one of us a severe asthmatic, our baggage was lost ( still in Antalya Airport) for all 4 of us., the relentless walking took its toll on all of us in our 60s and over, we went through what felt like unlimited frisking and bag checks which we have never experienced before anywhere in the world. One having swabs taken?? We arrived late at Liverpool airport to find baggage was still in turkey, We loved our hotel and the warm Turkish people but we will never return to Turkey because of the horrendous experience of the airport and it’s incredibly bad performance.

Shame I can't leave 0 stars. I have travelled for years and have never experienced such a poorly run chaotic airport. The queues are just horrific at every point (this included 3 rounds of searches which I have never seen anywhere else). From arrival at the airport to getting to the departure lounge was nearly 2 hours. This included queues to get through initial security searches, queues to check in, queues for passport control and queues for second security searches. We made it the departure lounge with very little time to spare, desperate for the toilet. Again we had to queue as the ones nearest the entrance to the departure lounge only had 3 cubicles and 3 urinals! Who on earth designed that?! The toilets were filthy and stank too. To access WiFi you need to get a code from a machine however these are scarse and you guessed it, have long queues. It's 2025, surely freely available WiFi is the norm in an airport? The airport is extremely hot too, and this is in October, not even peak summer season.
Busy airports in the world recognise when they can't cope with the volume of customers and then open additional terminals. If Antalya want to offer any level of appropriate customer service they should consider building new terminals and spreading the numbers out rather than having tens of thousands flow through a single terminal every hour, as it simply cannot cope with the numbers of people.
Overall, by far the worst airport experience I have ever endured. I will actively avoid Antalya as a travel destination going forward solely to avoid this diabolic airport.

Following my holiday in Turkey, my arrival at the airport was my worst ever. I was unable to get special assistance and struggling to get to the departures before I missed the plane. I understand checks has to be done but this was unbelievable. It was totally disgusting and exhausting and staff very unhelpful.

Utterly awful place. Extremely hot, toilets are absolutely disgusting and not cleaned, food is extremely overpriced, 20 euros for a regular hamburger meal???? Pure greed. Nowhere to sit & check in and security extremely unorganised. The whole airport is a joke.

Gone to so many security checks, long and slow queues. The most expensive coffee i've ever had was in costa-£10. Really, how does costa allow to have such an overpriced coffee anywhere? Quite disappointing

Well after waiting at the passport control for a long time before we got through to telling them we had special assistance already booked as we had a wheelchair and a blind lady to not receiving that assistance. Then to so many security check ins. More than usual. We were then told to go to our gate as we were boarding at 13.35 for a 14.35 flight. To going straight to the gate without food or drink as we didn't have the time. To then be told our flight was not in and eventually boarding at 14.55. We then asked if they could open the gate for the lift for the wheelchair as we were boarding to be told no. We had to ask special assistance as we came to the end of the airbridge to board if they could go up and help bring the wheelchair through which was eventually done after everyone had boarded . It was utter chaos. There is no organisation whatsoever.

I love Turkey having visited multiple times and four times in four years but I have unfortunately resolved not to travel via Antalya airport again. This chaotic, badly organised, overpriced and unwelcoming job creation monstrosity delivers a traumatic experience that reverberates long after you leave it. A month after my last transit I still feel the effects. I hate to say goodbye to Antalya but my love for Turkey has led me to explore other destinations in the country.

My 1st experience of Antalya Airport yesterday... what a nightmare it was.
We arrived after changing to a private Taxi as the so called SPEEDY TRANSFER was nothing of the kind. Went through the 1st security check & scan... moved onto the 12+ long check in queues and spent approx 45 minutes waiting to check in our bags along with hundreds & hundreds of others. Then on to passport control with its huge queues again and border staff that dont seem to know how to be polite or curtious & maybe one day they could try smiling 😊 then on to the next security scan and the whole process so far was 1 hr 55 mins and our flight was about to start boarding soon, so couldn't stop & experience the extortionate food prices that the airport offer... then I arrive at the gate to find yet another security check supposedly authorised by the 'British Government' ... had 12 minutes to sit down and then started boarding... then spent 4.5 hrs on the flight from hell with multiple screaming babies that didn't stop screaming the whole journey, uneducated people unable to have a conversation without using hundreds of profanities & families arguing with each other without a volume control... no chance to sleep ... just grateful to land safely & happy to arrive home at last later that night... Antalya Airport is one of the most disorganised airports I’ve ever used. There are long queues at every stage — arrival security, check-in, passport control, and then yet another round of security. Even duty free and the shops are overcrowded with endless lines. The boarding process is a complete farce, more like a free-for-all than an orderly system, which makes the whole experience chaotic and stressful. Staff don’t seem interested or willing to help, which only adds to the frustration. On top of that, everything is outrageously overpriced — a simple bottle of Coke costs €6.50 and a McDonald’s meal is upwards of €20. For such a busy international airport, the lack of organization, poor service, and sky-high prices are shocking.

Tip for traveler's: Arrive extra early, bring your own snacks and drinks, and avoid relying on duty free or airport restaurants unless you’re prepared to overpay.

A very complicated airport with no signage at all – it’s impossible not to get lost, and on top of that, the traffic is terrible. I hope you won’t have to use this place.

Chaotic airport, no organisation, unhelpful staff, unclean toilets no locks on doors. Needs more signage after departure check in. The worst airport I have ever been in

I would never return here in my lifetime. What an absolute joke! £80 for three simple meals at McDonald’s and €60 for just two pizzas. Completely outrageous prices for very average food. It feels like they are taking advantage of tourists. Save your money and go elsewhere ,plenty of better options around that don’t rip you off like this.Checking after checking after checking all time spent there was queuing instead of having a break or visit any kind of shop. Back and forth to get tickets,spend 3 hours before my flight non stop standing and also queueing, 192929380992 checking points ,puts me right off. Extremely rude stuff, very inconsiderate to travelers, we have been traveling for 13h and we ended up in this airport where a bottle of coke 500ml cost 6 euro. you aren't wven part of EU why would you have your prices in Euro for ??? NEVER AGAIN

Whilst the security processes went pretty smoothly despite it being busy, once through security it's clear that all the airport care about is money.

There is extremely limited seating (unless you're eating in one of the massively overpriced restaurants). Nearly £17 for a Big Mac, £5.50 for a small bottle of Coke from a vending machine and £9 for a sad looking packet sandwich. I know you pay a premium when traveling, but this felt like extortion to be completely honest.

If you must travel through this airport, do yourself a favour and eat before you get here!

Really not a bad experience at all. I was expecting the worst having read the reviews but travelled at the end of the school holidays (UK) and definitely not the worst airport I’ve been to by some way.

Modern facility at T2. Initial security checkpoint queue was long but cleared pretty quickly. No issues at check-in or border control.

Duty free is a bit manic but it’s a busy airport so not sure what others were expecting. Didn’t struggle for seats, seems to be a reasonable amount towards the gates.

No issues with staff, we’re all reasonably friendly (or not unfriendly).

Food is pricey but it’s an airport, not unusual!

Specifically McDonalds. DO NOT USE. Charged £70 for 3 people. 2 were meals and 1 just a burger. All 3 meals came out wrong, 1 missing a burger, 1 (a cheeseburger) missing the cheese and all 3 including items removed at the touchscreen. The collection point was utter chaos. Virtually no seats either. They are ripping people off and cannot get basic selections right. Heard many others complaining too. Save your money!

This airport (T2) wasn’t quite as bad as I expected from the other reviews. Both security checks (one at entrance one after passports) were reasonably efficient and the check in queue for put Sun Express flight was fine. We were through all checks and into the main area within around an hour. As other people have said, the prices were ridiculous. £20 for 4 drinks from KFC! We would have been inclined to spend more on food and drink if the prices hadn’t been so high, but didn’t spend any more on principle. Also there is very very little sitting space so be prepared to stand up a lot.

It's 2025 for an airport not to have wifi available to ticketed passengers is shameful. You are asked to get a password from the cafe lady, none of the cafe ladies give the wifi. They say no wifi when you can see it as an available network. People have things to do online and then flights get delayed you don't have anything to keep you busy.
