Arbico Review June 2011

Excellent. Thank you Arbico!

My last experience of buying a new PC was so horrific that I postponed acquiring a new one as long as I could.
Finally I had to change my mind and started some intense research to find my “dream machine”. No one seemed to produce what I wanted so I finally settled on Arbico who would produce a custom design for me.
I emailed them on a Sunday giving my keywords, spec. and budget. Lunchtime on Monday I got a detailed reply. Taking overnight to think on it I phoned Arbico on the Tuesday and after a detailed conversation with the designer settled on an, (upgraded), design.
On Thursday, the next week, I received an email to say my PC system was on its way.
It duly arrived on Friday and the unpacking took ages as it was so well cocooned. I put the system together- everything worked first time. It was brilliant, just what I wanted,….and so fast!
A real Rolls-Royce of a computer.
I cannot recommend Arbico too highly.

Excellet Service!

Ordered a large gaming rig plus monitor from Aribico, the salesman went into a lot of detail over the phone advising me of various things. More than once he recommended against certain products even at detriment to the sale price as he thought it would be overkill, very honest!

The PC was built very swiftly but not so fast as to take any shortcuts. They were adamant that due care and attention be taken to make sure everything is perfect before the product is shipped.

On arrival the PC was in flawless conidition and works like a charm! I would have no problem recommending Arbico to a friend they were a pleasure to deal with.

custom computer

Chose arbico due to the web site that allowed me to customise to my exact requirements, the computer was delivered in less than the 10 days quoted even though it was just before Christmas. The machine worked perfectly straight out the box with a performance that exceeded my expectations.6 months later I have not had a single problem and have ordered another computer in which I have received helpful advice to configure for a quiet machine.
Would recommend to anyone

Arbico Phenom 6190 HD - Thuban Six Core

I first came across Arbico when I decided to change my 6 year old XP set up, and looked online under best budget desktops, the name Arbico seemed to come up quite frequently, so I took a look at their Website, which I thought to be excellent.
I ordered on line, next day sales came back with some suggestions to which I agreed, unfortunately a few days later I was forced to cancel the order because of things happening beyond my control, Arbico were very understanding and only charged a minimum cancellation fee,and my card account was credited almost immediately, they also said if you return to us when your ready to order again we will give you some discount.
My problem was sorted in the next few days and I made a fresh order, true to their word I received a a upgrade on the Graphics card, and DVD Burner, plus a keyboard and mouse without extra charge.
I found that Arbico sales staff very helpful, with excellent communication skills, and you are treated as a individual, I even made a late change with the operating system software and was accommodated without problem.
I was informed that the computer and monitor had been dispatched, and the next day the new system arrived in good condition, and well packed with all the discs and booklets.
Commissioning the system was simple, as it says on the box ready to go, the marriage of the Iiyama Prolite on DVI and computer is really superb.
I cannot vouch for for technical help department since I have not needed them, but never the less I would recommend this Company as being reliable and honest, and I am glad to be one of their satisfied customers

Perfect in every way!

I have used these guys for 4 computers now as well as having 2 other friends who have also purchased computers from them ranging from basic PCs right up to a hardcore gaming machine. All of the computers have been very reasonably priced and very well put together. The delivery is always on time and the communication is excellent. I cant really fault these guys at all. Top rate service.

Here's a company that knows what providing a service means.

What a breath of fresh air it is to find a company that actually provides the ‘full monty’ in dealing with its customers. It is many a day since I’ve experienced such quick, courteous and helpful responses to my queries.

Needing a new computer last January I decided to opt for the recommendation of PC Advisor magazine and purchase a computer from Arbico. Based on other recommendations of the magazine that I had tried successfully before, and although having never heard of Arbico, I was reasonably confident that all would be well. I’m pleased to say that it has been surpassed.

Since buying the first computer and being so satisfied I have now purchased a second unit again experiencing super service and satisfaction. On my recommendation a good friend also bought an Arbico computer and to date is well satisfied.

The computers are built to a high standard and use industry leading proprietary brands for all the components. It’s also a pleasant change to be supplied with all of the original disks of the hardware and software installed.

Top notch silent PCs

Arbico provide a quality custom-built PC service offering a wide range of options from lower budgets to the top-end. My particular interest is in quiet/silent PCs and in that respect they are top notch. Whisper-quiet, excellent components and pretty good price for high-spec machines. The guys are happy to chat on the phone and modify the options beyond what the website offers if that's what you desire. Tell them what you want, what your budget is and they'll work with you to get you what you are after.

No frills, but top notch service

Was rather surprised to read some negative reviews, as my two experiences of buying hardware from Arbico has been almost without fault. My son bought his PC from them, on recommendation from a school pal 2 years ago, and he has had no problems since them. On the evidence of his expeirence, I bought my own PC, built to my own specification, and i have not had a problem - until recently when the CPU overheated and basically melted the fan coupling. The enquiries to Arbico were handled very engaginly, and they did their best to source me a replacement that didn't involve a complete fan replacement. This was in great contrast to the automatons who sit in PC World (sorry, Currsy!) and just shrug their shoulders. Arbico are enthusiastic about their products and about their customers, and on my own experiences, I would recommend them to anyone who asked. (Though being a semi technophobe, not many people do!)

Unqualified praise

I wonder why so many people when they decide to buy a PC opt for the big players and the well known high street stores. They inevitably have to pay for expensive overheads, and if something goes wrong with their purchase they all too often find that no-one wants to know.

When I bought my PC (which was my first one) I decided to follow the recommendation of the monthly magazine PC Adviser rather than buy the conventional thing from the likes of Dell or PC World. I noticed that they strongly recommended PCs from a company called Arbico whom I had never heard of, but since the company came top of their charts for several months I decided to go with them.

When I phoned up to place an order I suppose I was expecting it all to be a bit over my head since I was new to the thing and didn't entirely know what I was talking about. But the person who dealt with me couldn't have been more patient and helpful and he made it his business to discuss with me exactly what it was I needed.

My order was duly processed and everything arrived exactly as promised. In contrast to all the horror stories I read about the trouble many people seem to have with their PCs I can happily say that nothing has ever gone wrong with my own Arbico purchase which has to date given four years of trouble-free service. I will say that in the initial stages there were perhaps a couple of things I wasn't sure about or didn't understand because I was unfamiliar with it all. On these occasions I did call on Arbico for help, and whatever assistance I needed was gladly given. A couple of years ago I found that my PC had, in spite of a Norton security system, picked up some sort of virus, and I contacted them for advice. I was advised to re-install the Vista operating system and some very helpful guidance was given to me which enabled me to carry out the task successfully.

Recently I decided to re-install the operating system again and all went well apart from the need to reinstate the audio driver. I wasn't prepared to trust the various sites on the internet who offer to download drives or whatever. I knew the safest and securest way was to email Arbico and ask them for the necessary assistance. Although my PC is long since out of its guarantee they very promptly and efficiently gave me the help I needed.

The reputation of any company depends entirely on the quality of its product and the attention given to its customers. Arbico scores full marks in both these areas. I would certainly turn to them for a future purchase and on the strength of my own experience I gladly recommend an Arbico to others in the market for a new PC.

What can i say £1400 pc arives in bits

What can i say £1400 pc arives in bits Hard drive fell out due to human error screws holding hard drive to short, this falls out during transit damages motherboard, Paid for 1 week turn around ends up having to go back to due the bits rattling around inside. Have issues now takes about 3 times to boot then it will find solid state hard drive.
Told drives were changed but having wrote down the serial numbers down this is not the case. After sales is what after sales.

It ooks like after spending all that money, i will have to buy new a new solid state hard drive i think the pcb connector board where the sata connector fits was damaged on the drive from the pulling of the cable on the second hard drive that fell out inside the case.

Told it was not human error and it was carriers fault but the photos show otherwise if it had been assembled in the first place correctly this review would be glowing and i would be a happy customer.

Poor after sales

Delivery was reasonably prompt after 10 days for a custom built machine, but this was where the problems started. After 3 weeks I started to have serious problems with the PC slowing down. Firefox, office applications and even notepad took some time to load, considerably longer than my previous dual core athlon PC and the intel dual core I had at work. After a while the computer experienced a blue screen of death and completely crashed. On rebooting the PC, the same issue happened again with the screen becoming scrambled. I started the PC in safe mode and the same thing occurred, essentially the computer was now unusable. To their credit they arranged for a return and picked it up, contacting me to advise they had found a fault with the Mobo and returned it to me again. The problems remained however, so the PC went back to them yet again. I was sure it was a problem with the Solid State HD and told them as such, but yet again, the machine came out to me in the same condition, despite asking that the HD get replaced.

At this point I was fairly confused and beginning to get a little fed up. I spoke to one of their support team who was pretty short with me even though they had made a mistake, and I didn't have a working PC still. In the end we decided to send the faulty SSD HD back to Arbico, and they would send me a new 150 GB Velociraptor, which I would install myself and then re-install Windows myself as well. So after 3 errors and more than 3 weeks of No PC, I then get the pleasure of sorting my own PC out - and I had to pay for the HD until they received the SS HD back.

All then was well until last month when problems again surfaced. The PC refused to boot up, no hard drives were recognised from within the BIOS nor from booting Windows from DVD. I spoke to the to the supprt guy there, who could not have sounded more bored than if he had been forced to give a paper on Tory Party conference fringe speakers from 1975 - 1979. He recommended I take out my HD and send it back. I duly did so only to be told after a week that my HD was fine and they were sending it back with a new sata and power cable. I plonked it all back in only for the same problem to remain. I then had to send my whole PC back where it still remains with Arbico after three weeks, and all in all, I am a little cheesed off. They advise now that the secondary HD has in fact failed and they are replacing it and sending it back to me, and I have only just received it back. Just tested and I still have problems, I'm at my wits end.

I can't fault them for the hardware failing, there is not a lot anyone can do to prevent or stop that, but I do have issues with the support received. To their credit it is easy and quick to get through to them, and they have also paid for all the returns back to base. On the negative side however, the quality of their support has in my opinion been poor and they have unnecessarily elongated the period I have been without a PC and required me to do a lot of work that they should have. Repairs have taken a long time and as I work from home when I can, the net result of all these faults has been less time with my family. I would not as a result recommend Arbico to anyone. I don't think that their service is really bad, but it definitely isn't good. One to avoid.
