We had a delivery date by argos and it was not delivered waited all day and night no information from them at all then it turned up days after with no communication from them and when we looked at the products they sent it was so bad we couldn't believe the spring sticking out of the mattress very poor quality and we are very disappointed

I was appalled by the service at Argos…

I was appalled by the service at Argos recently. A staff member named Arif (Beckton London) was incredibly unprofessional and rude to me as a customer.
This seems to be a general problem, as the entire store feels chaotic, like a bazaar, and the customer service overall is very poor. Argos is nothing like it used to be. In the future, I'll be spending the extra few quid to buy from Amazon for a hassle-free experience.

Although the item I bought is generally well-reviewed, the unit I received is clearly defective. I sought guidance from ICT experts at work and submitted substantial evidence to support this. However, the manager dismissed my concerns and declined both a replacement and a return. The rationale provided was vague and unconvincing.

Products identified as deliverabe to Scotland were cancelled and refunds take too long

Two separate purchases on different days. came up as deliverable to my postcode, only to be cancelled as supplier does not actually ship to Scotland. Refund takes some time so haven't got the furniture, the money or the evidence that the site will be rectified so more people don't continue to pay out for something the company knows is NOT available.

Absolutely disgusting service

Absolutely disgusting service. Ordered a tumble dryer from them on line. For 3 days kept getting notifications about my delivery was on its way and would be with me Sunday. So cancelled my plans to wait in as was in need of item because of weather and washing building up. Finally the truck arrived and was told they were here to collect my tumble dryer. I said no I have ordered a tumble dryer and was then told they didn't have one on the truck.so tried to ring Argos help centre which is the most complicated and ridiculous question asking ai ever . Finally got to speak to a real person in god knows what country. Who said they didn't have them in stock and didn't know when they would get them back. Asked why it never said that when I ordered and why did they keep telling me it would be delivered if they didn't have them. He replied we will email you when they are back in stock. I replied I'm not waiting as I need one and asked for a refund. He replied fine have a nice day and put phone down.
Would definitely not recommend ever ordering anything on line from Argos. Went straight to A O . Who delivered one next day with no problems. Wish I didn't have to even give Argos one star as should be minus.

collected a tumble dryer from the store in Ammanford on the 2nd November 2025, it was wheeled to me on a trolley, i asked the assistant if i could use the trolley to wheel it to my car about 15ft away, but he refused saying he was not allowed to let the trolley leave the store, so i asked could you just trolley it to my car, again he refused , so i had to struggle carrying it myself, worst service i have ever experienced

Never buying from the shop again

Never buying from the shop again. I just wasted so much time trying to find out how to return my microwave that is shredding a seal inside. I just needed to know if the service (where I need a professional to write that it is a product fault, not me using it incorrectly) is free and Juhi did not want to tell me due to the security process first. With Currys, there are some delays but I never left unhappy.

Awful customer service

I have never in my life had someone on the chat helpline be so rude. Usually I have never had an issue with Argos but today they delivered me someone else’s item. When I went on the chat helpline I gave them all the details of what my order was and what I had received all the details of the person who’s item had wrongly been delivered to mine and I couldn’t believe the attitude of their assistant who came online from the chat box I was so shocked. He/she was so rude I told her to forget the whole thing keep my money and forget it. I think next time il definitely forget orders from Argos because I know now that if anything goes wrong the customer service was so bad it’s put me off. The person behind the screen even asked me if I was simple! Disgusting behaviour you might not like your job but that’s not my issue. I hope Argos reads this and sorts their customer service staff out on the chat box line

There essentially is no customer…

There essentially is no customer service. Personally I’ll never buy from Argos again.
You ask for chat transcript(twice), doesn’t happen, you ask for management to call you back (twice), doesn’t happen, you ask for help, doesn’t happen. Two out of three store managers told me things that directly contradicted what’s on the Argos website, they will not accept faulty returns, yet any customer service I contacted refuses to help and sends me to store. Chat especially, they’ll waste your time, ask what’s up (knowing I ordered in store) then proceed to tell you they’re only able to help with delivered orders, what a infuriating waste of time(!!!) so if you ordered in store, well… good luck… trying to resolve my issue took a week and it was an insane marry go around, so see who will they send me to next, who will I need to chase next, will I find anyone willing and able to help me…
Website description of the items are less than poor, so if you choose to order anyways, make sure you do proper research about the item.

Terrible customer service

Ordered 8 items. Then sent 1. Now in dispute with them about the other 7 items. We have video proof only 1 thing was delivered. The customer service is non existent and when you do speak to someone they don't help. They told me to raise it with payment provider so PayPal are now investigating. £85 worth of Christmas presents lost!

Argos supplied a used printer

Collected a printer from them, when I opened the box it was obvious that it had been used before, IT WAS 2nd HAND!
The inks were not full, but Argos customer service didn’t seem to be bothered and just told me to return it.
Terrible attitude after they sold me a used product!!

Ordered a mattress

Ordered a mattress. Delivery slot on a Sunday 11-1pm. Turned down a lunch invitation. Man with a van & tip slot booked to take old mattress. Message at 2.30pm to say delivery cancelled! No explanation. Contacted customer services Monday. Earliest redelivery slot 2 weeks later. I asked if old mattress could be taken away for the inconvenience caused. Yes was the reply. Delivery men had no paperwork on the day to say they were taking old mattress and were really rather rude! Mattress still here waiting for man with the van to collect when passing! Have wrote an email saying how displeased I am…….not even the decency to respond and apologise! How do these companies stay in business? Regards Nicky

Incompetent and uncaring.

Ordered a product. They cancelled it without reason. Customer Service had no idea whatsoever as to why it was cancelled and explanation was simply order it again and see what happens.

So if you want something, but are not bothered if you get it or not, and you are not bothered about customer service then this is the company for you.

If give them no stars if it was possible.

rudeness and incompetence

they delivered on wrong day. twice. 2 items instead of six with rude driver and no explanationation. i stated i do not want t see the driver again while complaining. and specified delivery day. all this was ignored and the same rude driver turned at my door on the wrong day and laughed in my face while humiliating me. i refused the items as i am not going to insulted in my own home. called argos 3 times. twice the call didn't go through as their ai is beyond bad. 3 time call disconnected half way through. as it was impossible to get argos on the phone, i turned to live chat. and learned that the items were returned and refunded. so this is the summary:
1. i was insulted twice
2. two days of my life were wasted
3. i lost promotional savings on items
4. i was completely ignored by argos
5. part of shopping was on gift card so now i am forced to use company i despise again
6. i was humiliated by person who was rude to me with assistance of the company who made money out me
i very much advice anyone to never use argos . unless of course they yearn to be humiliated, ignored and dismissed
