1st Class Experience at Mercedes-Benz Grangemouth
I recently bought a car from Mercedes-Benz Grangemouth and the whole experience from start to finish was superb. I was looking initially at a few different cars and managed to whittle it down to two which I took out for a test drive. The staff were very accommodating and there was no hard sales pitch. I finally decided on the car I wanted. The buying process using the app was excellent. No faffing about with forms and paper. The road tax was organized on the spot, quickly by the salesperson. Everything was so smooth. My car was given to me polished and cleaned to a very high standard.
After driving about for a couple of hours I noticed a small chip on the windscreen. I popped back into the dealership and they acted on it immediately. A specialist was sent to my home a couple of days later to fix the chip. He did an excellent job and you'd struggle to find where the chip was. All in all, the experience with this dealership has been 1st class and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Promises made, months of chasing, and terrible customer service
I purchased my car through the Aberdeen Craigshaw branch and collected it from the Newcastle-under-Lyme branch on 19 May. Unfortunately, what should have been a straightforward purchase has turned into nearly two months of chasing for something I was promised.
When I collected the vehicle, I specifically asked whether it came with the charger and the complimentary service and MOT plan. It wasn’t until all of the paperwork had been signed and payment had been taken that I was told the service and MOT plan hadn’t been added. I also discovered the charger was missing.
Later that day, my salesperson, Bryce, called to apologise and assured me that both issues would be resolved. The charger eventually arrived, but almost two months later I’m still waiting for the complimentary service and MOT plan that I was promised.
Throughout this time, I’ve had to chase for updates myself, with very little communication from the dealership. Most recently, I was told by a member of staff that the store manager would call me back the same day. That call never came.
I was then informed that because I arranged finance through an external lender, I wasn’t eligible for the complimentary service package. This made no sense to me, especially as I had already been assured it would be added to my vehicle when I collected it. If it was a complimentary offer, why should choosing independent finance mean I lose out on something I was led to believe was included?
The most disappointing part of this experience has been the lack of communication and the failure to honour what I was told at the point of collection. I’ve spent weeks chasing a resolution for something that should have been dealt with from the start.
Buying a car should be an exciting experience, but instead it’s been frustrating and unnecessarily stressful. I expected much better customer service and after-sales support. I hope this review encourages the dealership to improve how it communicates with customers and honours the commitments it makes.
