First run wasn't good, Second fixed mistakes
I've recently used a different photo book supplier who I had no issues with on the actual quality of the books, but who didn't really offer the style of book I had wanted to order for some vacation photos and a 2022 review book. I ordered 3 books of which 2 ended up having problems with the print or binding. Obviously it's disappointing to know that there is zero QA on books that are quite expensive. Customer support was helpful and did resolve my problems by re-printing the books, but it is disappointing to feel like we had to get things re-made to make it right. I separately had bought vouchers for family to AU for Christmas, but I have shared my experience so they are pre-warned on what to look out for.
I ordered a wedding guest sign in book…
I ordered a wedding guest sign in book ($300) and it arrived with an ink splat on one of the pages. Other than that, the book is beautiful. I sent them a message about it and they were very prompt to respond and told me they would send me a new one. I told them I needed it by the wedding. It arrived days after the wedding, so we had to use the defective one. I was really disappointed.
don't believe the branding
I'm kicking myself for not checking the Trustpilot reviews before purchasing bc it seems many folks are having the same problems.
My book (which I spent hours putting together as a valentine's gift for my fiance) arrived today and I'm shocked at how poor the quality and assembly is. The sides are leaking glue, the dust jacket was crooked and improperly assembled, and the print quality of the photos is extremely low. I'm thanking my lucky stars that my fiance is not the sort to get picky about these sorts of things but as an artist and designer, crooked margins and grainy photos make me *nuts.* For $80+ I expected a lot more.
Don't fall for the sophisticated branding and the "we're trying to bring back the era of high quality print photos" nonsense. I give their marketing team 10/10...I was left feeling completely scammed.
3rd Attempt for Printing
I just received my 3rd photo book - the first 2 had print errors and the 3rd book is exactly the same. This is a wedding photo book that I spent over 80 hours creating and they don’t take the time to proof it before they ship it. EVERY full bleed page has a white margin down the side of the page. My question is if you can’t print to these specifications why is it an option on the layout? I submitted photographs from our professional photographer so it isn’t a quality issue with my photos. Their customer service team has been very responsive but they keep shipping the same book and do not fix the errors.
Dishonest and unresponsive customer service team
I paid over $400 for a wedding photo book and have yet to receive it, despite being promised it would arrive by Christmas. Not only are their website's guarantees clearly not attainable, but their customer service is a complete letdown. Ignoring emails and making customers feel unimportant defeats the purpose of stating that we are a top priority, and I find it completely inexcusable. There is no way to reach them via phone and they've been unresponsive to multiple emails. I would NOT recommend this vendor.
Dishonest about delivery
I took days to assemble a photo book as a special Christmas gift and finalized the order well before the artifact uprising Christmas deadline and OF COURSE it won't get here on time. Website says 3 days for production and 10 days later it's still stuck in production status. 90% of these purchases are gifts! Buyer beware, they won't get it to you by that special milestone. Extremely disappointed.
Gorgeous calendar and brass stand
Gorgeous calendar and brass stand! Perfect all year long for grandparents.
Quality paper for each month, plus sharp, clear renditions of the photos I uploaded.
Shipped fast internationally, excellent packaging.
Professional, helpful customer service -- especially Coleen. 100% would purchase again.
Flimsy and cheap
The holiday cards we ordered are so flimsy they all bent in the mail and seem cheap, especially for the money. I went to the website to leave a review and what do you know? The "leave a review" link (which you have to google to find) takes you nowhere. One star for the product, no stars for downright sneakiness.
Disorganized and unreliable
Unfortunately, I’ve had a very bad experience and would not recommend. On November 8 I submitted an order for holiday cards. I received an envelope on Nov 14 and it was completely empty. I immediately reached out to AI and they assured me they would resend the order. I have been checking my tracking and have been assured by their rep that my order is on the way and should soon be received. I reached out again today because the package still hadn’t been picked up for 5 days and finally the customer service rep informa me that my order was lost on the dock so they are reprinting and shipping my order. This is now the 3rd time we’ve had to do this. It seems that they are very disorganized and unreliable and I would be very hesitant to recommend.
Good product, frustrating experience :/
I’m really happy with the final product, but disappointed with the overall experience - including the user interface and customer service. There are different layout options with layflat albums that become really frustrating when you’re designing multiple albums. In some cases, you may want to repeat a spread… but in some cases you can’t only because you chose a different colour cover. 🤷🏼♀️ It’s framed by their team as a “design” decision, but it is just a frustrating user experience. The quality is the same as Milk Books albums of similar quality (digital, 6-colour) printing, however I personally prefer the user interface of Milk Books quite a bit more. I do appreciate the 8.5 by 8.5 option for AU - Milk Books only has 8 by 8. In the end, it mostly likely comes down to price (or which site has the better sale). Both sites result in incredible, worthwhile investments - and since I’ve now mastered the Artifact Uprising tool, I would purchase again if the right sale was on!
Wedding Album Success Story
I went with Artifact Uprising for my wedding album. My photographer was going to charge upwards of $1,000 for an album, which was a bit too pricey in my opinion. I wanted an album that was much more elegant than Shutterfly (no offense I love their photo books but they are not quite the quality for my wedding photos). I decided to try Artifact Uprising and I am sooooo happy with my purchase. The linen cover with the gold print is very elegant and professional looking. The pages are thick and the photo quality is great.
I want to be clear that I am 100% happy with my wedding album, but I will say a few things that I do think need improvement. First, the album covers are limited in design. You either have to choose on of their designs, or you can do a plain text with words. Second, I really wanted a black cover as our wedding colors were black/white/gold and they did not offer black. We went with navy blue, which matches our decor, but I think they should offer black. I also wish that some of the photo sizes were a bit more customizable. If you want two portrait photos on a page, you have just a few options. I would have liked to have a bit larger photos but still on one page.
All that said, those are minor things that I'm sure they are working on. I had a bad day this week and my husband pulled out our wedding album and after we looked through it my problems dissolved and I'm so happy we have a beautiful album!
Pricey but great quality prints
A bit pricey, but these prints are such great quality! I love the option to do a square or rectangle, and then choosing border or no border. I haven't purchased one of the books yet, but if they are anything like the everyday prints, I think I'll try them out soon.
Excellent
Great site, easy to navigate. Fantastic products (quality, design, creativity) and delivered as promised. I have ben a happy customer for years now.
