Avoid Avoid Avoid
My father passed away after spending 7 weeks in St Peter’s hospital. I would not wish that hospital experience on anyone. No empathy, extremely unprofessional, and the cleanliness appalling. I will not go into full details as it is private but what I will say is if you have the opportunity to avoid taking someone to St Peter’s I would recommend doing so. We complained whilst my father was in hospital but nothing improved. After his passing I asked for a face to face meeting with the relevant representatives of St Peter’s hospital. After waiting a few months and being given a date it was cancelled saying that one of the doctors was unable to attend. That’s how much they cared. To avoid this painful situation extending any further we agreed to a written report which was received a few weeks later. None of the report took away from our ongoing painful experience and I fear our experience could continue with other patients. Not only do we now have to deal with my father’s passing but we have those awful memories of his so called “care” in those 7 weeks.
Truly appalling
Truly appalling. They claim to have sent letters to me which I sometimes receive and sometimes don't, those I don't receive are never on my health record app. Went to A&E in April, was told I had angina and to look on internet about treatments and symptoms. Since then I've had outpatient appointments cancelled twice the day prior to appointment. When I was advised by telephone of a CT scan appointment I was told a letter would be sent to me and to go to my GP to get beta blockers before the appointment, which was impossible since neither I nor my GP ever received the letter. I wasn't even made aware of which type of CT scan I was getting or the procedure involved and when I rang up St Peters they told me I was getting a full body scan and to not worry about beta blockers. Had CT scan 3 months ago and still have no results. I had an echocardiogram 3 weeks ago and still no results. Their website states outpatient's should speak to their hospital doctor for results, but nobody is sure of who my hospital doctor is or who I should contact. My GP practice is not even aware of any of these events or tests since no correspondence from Ashford & St Peters has been communicated to the practice. None of the departments communicate with each other and communication with outpatients is very poor. Frankly, there's no point in having tests if you never communicate the results to the patient. Might as well as have a heart attack and just be done with it.
Thanks Dr. S. Goel from Oral Maxillo Facial Surgery
My review is purely for the Doctor here. I went here to the Oral Maxillo Facial Surgery Department for extraction of 3 teeth, all wisdom and trust me I am very nervous, super scared and due to these be very annoying to be dealt with as a patient. Not sure many doctors would have the patience to deal me once,
Dr. S Goel treated me very patiently from Xray to explaing me the first appointment about the treatment I would need and why. I kept pushing my appointments due to fear alone and once finally found the courage to go for my appointment due to the pain my cavities on the wisdom caused.
She was not just patient but spoke to me calmly explaining exactly what she was going to do and made me feel better during the whole process encouriaging me all the way.
With her expertise and help I have got 2/3 extractions done. I am very thankful to her and will greatly recommend Dr. Goel for your Oral Maxillo Facial Needs if you have been referred like me to NHS for further treament, Thanks to her and Nurse Poonam too for being super polite and patient.
On other note, Parking is a nightmare here, so Please reach here for your appointment atleast 30 mins before. I had to literally run to the appointment even then being 5 mins late and the charges are excruciating too.
I've been suffering from grade 3 piles…
I've been suffering from grade 3 piles for over 2 years and they have done nothing but waste time by cancelling appointment after appointment. I still haven't been treated and have decided to transfer to another hospital as I have totally given up and my problem is getting worse. Shame on this hospital! Savages!
Truly the worst hospital experience of my life…
Truly the worst hospital experience of my life.
Herded around like cattle.
Left literally to rot where you are placed.
No up to date records,
24 hrs with no results, ill.informed by clearly under qualified doctors.
Avoid like the plague.
After admitting my father for falling…
After admitting my father for falling over at home they decided to put him on a wing with somebody with covid resulting in the death of if my father

Honestly the service in reception is sooo bad
Honestly the service is sooo bad. My son was struggling to breathe and urgently needed help I went to the desk in the walk in and they said ‘everyone has the same thing he can wait as there’s children here as well’ 111 guided me to go to the reception and get a urgent check up but they didn’t care. NHS needs to sort their self out as they only there for the pay and nothing else. Worst hospital I’ve been in
So 9pm we was waiting down the hall way…
So 9pm we was waiting down the hall way .7pm we was waiting for discharge papers that were meant to be done at 4 pm.so the doctor walks in at 3 pm .my poor partner looked like crap. I had to walk away .the man was of his rocker. Honestly if I was in Baghdad I would of got better service.
excellent care
I had an appointment at The Blanche Herriot Unit Abbey Wing on 12th October 2022 where I received an excellent care. The gynecologist was very gentle when giving an ultrasound. Because of my concerns she gave me a thorough internal examination without being invasive. She was very gentle and empathic. Words are not enough to express gratitude.
I was being induced because my waters…
I was being induced because my waters had broke! I dunno if I told you but I basically kept having like heavy discharge so I kept ringing them saying it’s not right, something is wrong and they kept saying oh it’s nothing blah blah, then when I rang on mum’s birthday I said look can I come in just to be sure, and I went in they checked me over and everything was fine, then they done an internal with one of those things that open you up, and there faces just changed they basically said my cervix was open 4cm and they took me in from there ! But I found out the reason my cervix opened, it’s called acute infection of the placenta, and it’s really dangerous for me and baby
should be given no stars whatsoever
i have been in some hospitals in my life but this is up there with the very worst, nurses slaggging off patients, no patient confidalty whatsoever, run out of my drugs numerous times so the drug rounds were hit and miss, one drug propranolol which controls the blood pressure in my liver i never got for a day and a half so i started bleeding from my backside, 2 guys in 2 days just discharged themselves, 9 hours to change a drip no cream given as prescribed by the doctor on Sat when i got discharged, sent me home with virtually no drugs and considering i am a manic depressive not one anti depressant was given. morning of discharge i am supposed to get about 12 drugs i got 2. this hospital doesn't even deserve no stars, worst experiance of my life
Excellent from Begining to End.
I was in day Surgery on April 8th for foot Surgery. I want to thank MrKiziridis for looking after me so well and all his wonderful team. It was a very good experience from begining to end. I was made to feel cared for and safe in every aspect from arrival until departure.

VERY BAD NHS EXPERIENCE STARTS at A&ST P.
Was in prem labour by 6 weeks in Chelsea and Westminster who put it on hold as they had no intensive care beds incase baby needed it. It took them ten hours to find another hospital and eventually was moved to Ashford and St Peters (Chertsey, Surrey - founded 666!). The labour went through 5 mid-wives, prolonged second stage. During my whole labour, my son was back to back birth, it was extremely painful, and was given a tight elastic band and baby heart foetal monitor to wear... tight and painful and could not move far from the bed for 15 hours. In the end I removed it from the elastic band and stuck it on with tape. Eventually exhausted I asked for an epidural. No anaesthetist for 3 hours then gave when fully dilated. Was rendered lifeless to push my baby out with no feeling neck down 4 hours so asked for a Ventouse delivery no one had suggested. My baby was born healthy, taken away, I was sewn up, abandoned from midnight till 5am then told to move as room needed. My baby later returned with NG tube up his nose, was 6lb so didn't need it as had ability to suck the second he was out. During my 7 days there on my own with no maternity bag / clothes, nurses who inserted the NG tube pushed aggressively causing him to cry in pain which caused scarring as a KILOID scar tissue. I didn't understand for four years this event had caused the narrowing and not a coheanal artresia as St Mary's hospital later suggested (narrowing naturally). Damage by the poorly inserted NG tube had created the airway problem. At 3 weeks old as a result, baby struggled to breathe, was put on a mix of cows milk formula ( unknown to us, was intolerant)- the scar tissue narrowing in his nasal passage made him struggle for air as they nose breathe only till 6 months old. This started after we left the 2nd post natal hospital BMH, Bristol, from a ward named after my [late] father where my son had some prem light therapy. His breathing / nasal issues developed after we left which lasted for 3.8 years . This prolonged issue was caused by Ashford and St Peters NG tube damage plus cows milk intolerance as he couldn't draw breath and breastfeed naturally. It was highly traumatic for mother and baby and lead to two operations, a general operation to investigate it at just 8 weeks then at 3.8 years after a CT scan. If I'd known ALL we were going to go through in labour, St Peters issues leading to chronic sleep loss for four years, infant sleep aponea, both weak and sick, massive health damage, lost career, as single mother with no family around I would have had my baby at home! I had to sell my home, had permanent bad damage from the 2nd degree Ventouse, and huge life and financial loss and instability that wrecked our lives. I was 38 at the time and my years as first time a young mother were so damaged I was unable to sustain my career, my community, finances, so we lived through losses, a child with health anxiety from breathing trauma and endless pediatric visits ages 0-4 at St Marys, London. I had chronic exhaustion from back to back sleepless nights as a single mother for four years and subsequent sickness in us both. Huge adrenal gland insult to me for constant sleep loss and emergency child care (paid nanny one night a week) through the night, leading to low cortisol, hormonal imbalance and auto immunity with inflammatory issues. The recession (2009/12) coincided - I ended up bankrupt, returning to my parents for two years as career and health had been so badly affected. Disconnected vilifying parents did not want to admit NHS issues or their own wilful negligence for years so blamed me and brushed it all under the rug. My father a highly esteemed retired leader in perinatal care, was not bothered about his own daughter and grandson and perhaps wanted me to pay for my independent maternal life choices. My son now 15 can breathe well, has no adenoids or tonsils following a much delayed operation for A&T in 2010 as the NHS failed to diagnose the op he needed for 3.8 years. Long stress left us frustrated, exhausted, without remedy. I asked for a CT scan at end of my rope 2010 which finally revealed urgent op needed as airway blocked by 80% reducing thriving, sleep and infections. Done at St Marys. In 2017-2021 3x NHS GPs in Bristol massively failed GMC misconduct over a diagnosed biotoxin illness. This, a HUGE data breach, patient betrayals and harm to a child for four years to cover up CIRS/mould illness. A huge concern still unfolding - see Pembroke Road Surgery post - to come.
Terrible!!!
Absolutely awful - avoid
I’ve had the worst experience under the care of the maternity unit at St Peters hospital (except for a lovely nurse called Rose). I received poor care and my health issue was completely dismissed. I was forced to change hospitals in the third trimester of my pregnancy and am now receiving the correct care and treatment with a diagnosis to my health issue. The staff repeatedly told me there was nothing wrong with me and did everything they could to get me to leave. Dr Karin Leslie discharged me and encouraged me to go home without treatment and take ibuprofen for up to 2 weeks (I was shocked this was suggested as this can cause a miscarriage). I made a complaint on 05/09/20 and was due a response by 14/10/20, which I still haven’t received.
I would not recommend this hospital
I would not recommend this hospital. I went in last Thursday with pains and I had two very different medical options. The first wanting to operate and the second happy for me to go home. I was then sent home.
I called back to voice my concerns about having two very different medical opinions as I was very worried and was told to come back in at 8am the next day. After 12 Hours and scans I was under the impression I had a diagnosis but then was contacted by a doctor I had seen days before she was ‘explaining’ next steps and what other tests I needed but when I voiced my questions and asking what further tests I needed I was brushed off. I still haven’t resolved what's actually wrong with me and I’ve been left in limbo to worry. This hospital lacks in communication with each other and patients.
Disappointingly poor
Not good except for a few outstanding consultants. Little synergy.
Public parking outside main entrance…
Public parking outside main entrance has been re designed by an muppet - no where to turn around through barrier, no notice of changes or new lack of public spaces. No impressed with blood test dept either going digital, what a waste of public money, stop fixing what isnt broken- save money by getting rid of the people wearing suits and spend it on nurses, drs, beds, real things that affect real people!
