My experience has been ok, but the app needs to improve a lot to make the procedure more automated, reliable and safe. Auting should learn a lot from apps as getaround used in France and Spain.

Family of 4 trip in Tuscany.
I had a great experience. The cost of renting was less than a car rental company. My car was a BMW convertible. Drove great. Service from Auting was clear. Payment was easy. Plus the insurance plans were super affordable and gave me peace of mind. Would rent again.

Be Careful with this company
Dont use this website, you will get burnt by crook car owners who steal some extra money of you. I have rented a car in Napoli for a few days and when I brought it back the owner claimed there was a new scratch on one side of the car which I definitely have not caused and it was marked on the condition report. After providing a fake quote, Auting deducted 500 euros from my credit card and they are not willing to return it.

Hi Robert, as we already explained to you, you just had to send us your own copy of the reservation Checklist.
You have never sent us the document requested.
We remind you that the Checklist is the reservation contract that is mandatory to fill in and sign, in two copies - Driver's and Owner's - at the beginning and the end of the reservation.
As indicated in the communications you received before the trip and in the faq page: Owner and Driver must complete and sign two separate copies of the Checklist, to be kept for the entire duration of the trip and after the end of the trip.
It is mandatory to mark all pre-existing travel damage on the Checklist and photograph it.
Unfortunately in the absence of the Driver’s Checklist, as you can imagine, any claim or dispute for extra expenses and damages can not be accepted.

- The car I rented was damaged and unsafe, with malfunctioning seat belts and structural issues.
- Their app didn’t work, leaving me unable to contact support or end the rental.
- No emergency assistance was available after 6 PM, and the number they provided later didn’t even exist.
- I was forced to spend €316 on alternative transport after the car broke down immediately.
This service is unreliable, unsafe, and provides zero accountability. I do not recommend it.

For the Drivers is available every day 24/7, weekends and holidays included, Blue Assistance - a Reale Mutua Assicurazioni service - to help with Checkins/Checkouts and provide road assistance in case of cars stops or accidents.
So Blue Assistance was actually available to assist you when you had the problem with the car, they would have provided a solution for your trip including another car.
We are sorry you were not able to reach out to them but the service is always active and our Drivers and Owners are regularly supported by them.
So we are sorry for your experience - for wich you had a full refund - but the assistance is there 24/7 for all our users, Drivers and Owners.

Amazing experience
Auting is an incredible idea that allows peer to peer car sharing. The experience was smooth and easy. Auting team replied to all my needs via email quickly for verifying my identity and confirming my USA phone number. You save more money than renting from the corporate car rentals companies, you know exactly what you are getting as a car, and the trip can be personalize to your needs by communicating with car owners. One thing I would improve is the Mileage on vehicles. Would like to see the option to have unlimited mileage.

The app had a bit of a glitch when registering from the UK, but the tech support were really good. The customer support were also really helpful.
Overall, the service worked really well for me. Far better than using a traditional hire firm. I;ll be doing this again wherever possible.
