Backwater Reptiles are awesome! Their sales staff is very polite and answers all your inquiries in a timely manner. I ordered a GBB tarantula sling and received it 100% live arrival guaranteed. We'll packaged and safe. Lively little sling too.

I would advise people not to order spiders from Backwater. I ordered a Regal Jumping Spider and she died within a couple of months after she arrived. Based on her size and condition, she was already nearing the end of her lifespan when they shipped her to me. I set her up with a nice habitat and fed her crickets and waxworms regularly. So, I don't think the problem was at my end - they just sent me a really old spider. Since Regals only live 2 to 2 1/2 years, they would have to had known that they were sending me an old spider.

I had been looking for a Madagascar Big-Headed Turtle for a really long time and remembered seeing an email from Backwater Reptiles from last year about them having a few babies. I took a chance and emailed them asking if any were still available for $250 (the price they were advertised at last year). Within 10 minutes I received a response that they still had some, that they were the same turtles so they definitely had some wear and tear (normal cosmetic baby turtle stuff- nipped toes and tails) and because of that they were $200 instead. I JUMPED on the opportunity and was walked through how to go about a manual order via email and then pay securely on the website since the turtles were an email exclusive deal. I paid $254 after tax and shipping (the normal rate for FEDEX priority overnight) and almost immediately got an email confirming everything was put together and in order on their end. I ordered on a Sunday night, got my tracking Monday evening as planned, and today my turtle showed up healthy, looking amazing, and on time. I panicked a little because of how hot it was in my part of Florida today- and then I found the cold packs. Sweet, sweet cold packs. When I opened the box it was packed wonderfully with THOSE AMAZING COLD PACKS, foam walls, and filled with crumpled paper, and the turtle was secured in a breathable bag- the gold standard. I’d give more stars than 5 if I could for the transparency, the price, the response time, the professionalism, and the overall satisfaction I felt opening that box today.

I ordered two Uromastyx through their website. It was super straightforward, very simple and quick! They kept communication and they were very sweet. The lizards arrived healthy and happy! Highly recommend these guys! Thank you so much you guys!

The company promptly performed exactly as represented. I ordered 9 lizards which arrived healthy and ready to energetically see their new homes. They are adorable! There is a premium on shipping but worth it to ensure the animals arrive quickly and are healthy.

I wouldn’t buy from a company that number one tells you that they will only deliver an animal to your address on your drivers license when your ordering from another location and even when you present them with the receipts of where your current location is and that there records show that the current location your using is legitimate they completely ignore you on the subject all together. Number two i wouldn’t buy from a company that tells you the costumer that your a fraud with out being able to show prove of it when asked through email to show the evidence that the person is a fraud to begin with this is the first time I have ever had any issues with this company and the first time I have ever had to complain about them. It’s bad business to ingore the costumer when the customer is always right . And currently I’m still trying to get them to communicate with me.

I ordered 3 White Tree Frogs. They arrived quickly and were safely packaged. All tree are doing very well.
They're also quite cute. Representatives were also very attentive with any of my questions.

I recently built a pond and wanted to add turtles to it. I contacted Backyard Reptiles and they suggested a few different type. I purchased 3 different ones and they arrived yesterday. They were babies and the coolest ones I’ve seen. I would highly recommend them if you are looking to purchase a unique pet

I got a great animal at a really good price it's captive bread and I couldn't be more pleased! She's really gorgeous!

We received a beautiful Pueblo milk snake hatchling in great shape.

Ordered one male and two female green anoles for my bioactive vivarium. Ordering was simple and the animals arrived on time as scheduled. All three of the Anoles look healthy and immediately began to eat and to lap water up from misted leaves. Very happy with the company. Now keeping the Anoles healthy is up to me!

All lizards I have purchased here have always been of excellent quality. And I have purchased quite a few.

They also provide excellent service and superior selection. I love that I can always choose between a baby or an adult lizard and also choose between a male or female gender lizard.

Horrible. Lizard arrived on Death's door, emaciated and dehydrated. It lived 2 hours after it arrived. Backwater wanted me to pay an additional shipping charge for a replacement.

This is the 2nd time I have had issues with Backwater Reptiles. First time, I ordered a frilled neck and received 2 breeding pairs of emerald tree skinks. I decided to keep the skinks vs. put them through return shipping stress. So, they started harassing me about paying for the emeralds when I had paid 3 times as much for the frilly, but never got it. Eventually, that was resolved. Seems like every transaction has an issue.

I ordered a Guyuana Red Tail Boa and had nothing but a good experience. From the moment I ordered her Backwater emailed me back and forth about tracking and all the questions I had. I had to wait an extra day because they didnt have any Guyuana Red Tails when i ordered but they emailed me and asked if it was ok to ship the next day. Ofbciurse i was ok with it. She was delayed by UPS no fault of Backwater and I got her like 6 hours later but she was brought to my door and I actually had to sign for her. So made me feel better to know she wouldn't get left out in the heat. She came in a net bag with newspaper in a secure box with an ice pack. And shes alive and thriving. She looks very healthy. When she came out of the box she was a little agitated but I expected it. She had a long trip. Now shes happy in her enclosure and has lots of love. Overall, my experience with Backwater Reptiles was excellent. Don't listen to any of the bad reviews online about them. I was nervous as first too but took the chance and it was a great chance to take. THANK YOU Backwater Reptiles,I will be using yall again!!

I placed an order with Backwater for a Chubby Frog. Although they were out of the breed I requested, they contacted me in no time to let me know they were out and gave me options of other fossorial breeds they had on hand. I selected a Tomato Frog which arrived, as promised, healthy and beautiful!
The Backwater Team is great on communications and if I ever get space for another frog, I’ll buy from them again.

I ordered a baby Nile monitor from back water my baby came doing great beautiful color eating the first day I also ordered a baby savanna monitor my baby came not wanting to eat I emailed backwater and with there quick help answering me both times my baby is doing great so I have to happy healthy babies I'm so glade I ordered from backwater and I definitely give 5 stars

My leopard geckos arrived healthy and immediately started eating when I got them, I am happy with what I got and will definitely be getting more from them

I ordered 2 Schneider Skinks 1 male and 1 female the order was placed and I was notified right away that it was received. Notified that they were shipped and had a tracking number right away the next day.
Received them the very next day when promised. Had no issues with the shipment at all. Will definitely buy from again in the future. Very nice company to work with. Thank you for my new skinks.
