Communication with these guys has been great! There shipping schedule is solid, in my experience the only time there was a slight delay I was notified immediately of the new target date, and everything has been great. One toad so far and about a dozen tree frogs, my family has become enchanted with our new freind my son even giving him the very fitting name of Todd. I have read alot of negative stuff, but to my eye it seems like mainly redditors that are trying to get discounts or referral finder's fees from other shops. Lots of horror stories out there, and it took a bit of courage to click the buy button, and I'm glad i did. Didn't even hesitate when it came time to buy feedstock for Todd! He's been happy and healthy for weeks, he came from backwater and so has his food so don't buy the negative hype, buy stuff from backwaterreptiles.com and thank me later

Great experience! Got a tarantula spiderling and their customer service was excellent and quick to respond. They even offered to ship early and it came alive and well the following morning! The prices are fair and they have a great selection. Be wary of an unaffiliated imitation site causing them issues!

Fantastic company with outstanding customer service! I recently ordered frogs from them, and my animals arrived in excellent condition. Backwater gave me tips and advice on setting up the terrarium and caring for the frogs. They answered all my emails in less than a day. I highly recommend doing business with this company!

Backwater Reptiles handled my experience and transaction with care and confidence right from my first contact. I had several concerns through the process, not anything being about backwater or caused by them. I had a small shipping issues with fed ex but the representative I spoke to, filled me with confidence and put my fears and mind at rest. My wife's birthday present, a beautiful red tail boa, came to me not just perfect visually but it just wanted to snuggle with her and that was a perfect beginning of her adoption, I could do no wrong for hours. I text backwater reptiles,questioning feeding, now and in the future. They answered me right away knowing I already had my snake in my possession, they could have ignored me and put me in the past but they didn't. All in all, Backwater Reptiles have given me the absolute best experience, never did anything like this online but like I said, best experience ever! Thank you Backwater, I do want another red tail for myself now and there is no way I'm going anywhere else, your the best.

It could NOT have been a better experience. I was able to ask questions, and get answers really quickly. I went online to search, read about and learn more about the skink I purchased. It was shipped within a day and sent right to me. I'm telling you, this is a seamless ordeal! You'll love it. They have more than 15 years experience doing what they're doing, and it shows!

Just wanted to say thank you to Backwater Reptiles had some issues with ups delivery twice no fault to Backwater Reptiles all on UPS unfortunately my first delivery was delayed and arrived DOA but Backwater Reptiles honored their guarantee and sent out another one of course I had to cover the shipping cost but at a discounted rate so all in all I'm pretty pleased with the service

I received the most perfect 2 inch value versicolor today. I really liked that I could choose a preferred gender and they would try to get me that and they were priced at approximately $60 less than the next lowest priced one of this size. The shipping went perfectly. Arrived right on time. The tarantula is also very docile and climbed onto my hand when I was attempting to transfer. I will be purchasing future pets from them, for sure.

From the minute of purchase to the arrival of our new anoles , we have had a wonderful experience. Delivering the live animals can be tricky but all 12 made it here safety and alive. Thanks to Backwater reptiles we have a fantastic family of frogs , bearded dragons and now anoles. Thanks again Backwater reptiles.

Due to fake company's I was weary but Backwater did me very well after wait time because of bad weather were I live and I thank them for concern in their animals I have a beautiful Red iguana now

Ordered two baby leopard tortoise and they are active and healthy.

Will never buy from this company again. I ORDERED FEMALES. & was sent males. & not in great condition. Male chameleon had sore on his face. I ended up having to buy whole new set ups for the males I recieved all for their MESS UP. Reached out to their company to see if they would resend me females and they were rude and not helpful at all. They told me the male female option button is just a “preference”. What kind of bullshit is that. If you’re not going to send what people wanted then give them an option to cancel the order. & WHY PUT A MALE/FEMALE option if you’re not even going to abide by the selection the customer picked.

Do not buy from them unless you want to be disappointed

Just received my Guyana redtail boa a day ago cannot be more pleased with the customer service and the reptile I received. She was so docile and friendly came out of her bag straight into my lap and into my hands could not be more happy. Thank you very much. Would definitely recommend backwater reptiles.

Great experience - Backwater Reptiles delayed the shipment of my treefrogs to avoid winter storms but the frogs and their live food arrived warm and happy. Good customer service with a focus on delivering a healthy product.

Hello everyone! I received 3 amazing Rain Frogs from Backwater Reptiles. The overall transaction from start to finish was pretty smooth. They kept me updated through the process via email & answered my questions promptly. They even followed with me up after I received my frogs, that's pretty cool.

We just received our Redfooted tortoise today and he is absolutely perfect!!! He came in a super secure package and is doing great! He’s a wonderful new addition to our family!!
