Excellent service from the team at Jenkins, been using them for many years we had a new gas boiler fitted by Dan yesterday a very professional service so tidy and polite also a mention to Dave and Ellie who came last week to assess the problem they were all amazing we now have a warm and cosy house thank you very much

Always contactable, reliable and helpful

Because you are dealing with an office you do not have a problem with contacting the plumber and when they say they are going to arrive they actually turn up on the day at the agreed time. Liam was excellent he always asked you in the morning if there was anything we wanted to know. His helper Ellie was very nice and helpful as well. Liam explained everything he was going to do. The bathroom was always left very clean and tidy when he left. The final finish was just what we wanted with no problems it was finished to a very high standard and the price was comparable to other plumbers.

BUNCH OF THIEVES Keep an Eye on your Personal Property

Had a new Valiant boiler installed, in order to keep the warranty valid we called them back for the regular annual service, had a couple of good experiences, turned up on time pleasant man, explained what he was doing and why.
The last service we had a different engineer arrive with a trainee, the service was completed, but when I went to pack away the book and the torque wrench (which was used to open the water crystal container) I realised the torque wrench was not there, I made contact with the office to advise the torque wrench was missing, I was advised the engineer would return and put it in the post box, this did not happen, when I made contact with the office and explained the situation again I was told that no torque wrench had been taken, I do not appreciate being called a liar when the office knew about this as I reported it on the same day and it should have been returned on the same day, eventually we did receive various torque wrenches in the post after a lot of back and forth.
I decided to overlook this issue as I felt it was an easy mistake and had been corrected by the company so I made conatct concerning a leak in my kitchen, I was told they could not help me becuase I made an acusation concerning theft in my property, had I known I would receive such an unprofessional response I would not have asked for their services and in reality it would have been better dealt with by the Police.
It is a real shame that this happened as up until the last service I would have recommended this company but I can no longer do so
Be carfeul with who you let in your house and watch your property
The original owner and founder B & G Jenkins who built up the company from 1967 until you bought it from him when he retired would be ashamed of what you did to this once great name of a company in Swindon.

Mrs McBride final email to B&G Jenkins – Hello, Thank you for your message, However it was not an accusation it was fact, You replaced the tool and indeed went above and beyond to do this. As you are always very professional in the way you handle things, Hence me now requesting your services again. Please can you reconsider this request as I do need your help and services in the future. I will not have any of our own tools out so this will not happen again. Does this also mean you will not service the boiler again. Do I need to highlight this in other ways . Regards.

We have had no correspondence or dealings with you since 02/04/2024. I am sorry you feel you have had to write this review 15 months after the matter was settled to your satisfaction.

We are sorry we refused to attend your property when you requested in April 2024 however, after your accusations that the engineer who attended, had stolen from your property and the threat of police involvement over a small plastic key costing £6.30 of which we sent you two replacements. We have a duty of care to protect our engineers and our company. We did not deny at any time that the small plastic key for the water softener had been misplaced, this can happen when the engineer is clearing away his tools and any rubbish that he needs to dispose of, and would simply be an error on their part and not an intentional act.

I purchased the company 34 years ago from Brian Jenkins as an ex employee and trust all my staff implicitly.

disappointing

When i made the appointment for a service i asked for first thing which i was told would be between 8 and 9 to fit it in before having to leave the house for an appointment meanwhile it was 9.30 and found out someone else had an appointment before me.
attitude of the office is very unprofessional how they speak to people.
Two engineers turned up separately i was not told why and did not get to speak to engineer as he was to busy gassing about all sorts to the other person. Ok if you have all day to wait in. i would not use again.

Boiler and Gas Fire Service

Boiler and Gas Fire Service. £175 paid one month in advance. Engineer arrived on time, completed work in aprox 1 hr, replacing electrode assembly as it was showing signs of wear. He asked me if I was happy for it to be replaced and told me additional cost would be £66. All good, and very happy with professionalism and quality of work of engineer. However, later received additional invoice for £160.20. This was £72.20 for electrode and £88.00 additional labour. Engineer did not mention labour cost, and got the price of the electrode wrong. It's not the price, it's the misinformation, and the lack of empathy from the admin team. I also requested a survey for some additional work and expected this to take place today. It didn't and it seems no date had been booked. Suffice to say with this bad experience I won't use them again - for fear of lack of transparency on pricing.

Knights in a boiler suit

B&G not only replaced our boiler but has serviced it, we have also had to call them out in an emergency and they came within the hour. There reliable trustworthy and don’t do anything that’s not necessary I would highly recommend these guys no matter the size of the job,I wouldn’t go with anyone else

I have used and trust B&G Jenkins over a number of years for delivering quality workmanship , reliable team members and polite friendly service .
Yesterday I had a brilliant experience from Sam and Harvey who worked hard all day to get my boiler installation completed.

Quality work was carried out and the workmanship done was delivered and carried out in a outstanding manner their knowledge and expertise is brilliant and professional at all times.

Great to see/hear a tradesperson sharing his skills & knowledge within the team who all work brilliantly together giving their support on a new boiler installation.

Fantastic open friendly customer service polite and great communication leaving my home spotless and clean .

Thank you team especially engineers Sam and Harvey with the help from Jae and the parts man great job and highly recommended.

Rip off pricing

They fitted our boiler and service it. I've found a quick fit compression joint that they fitted under my floorboard/airing cupboard that has been leaking for some time, leaving mould on our downstairs ceiling. I phoned to ask for help, and they quoted £170 !!!!. The part costs £1.75 - turn off rising main, open a tap to drain system and change the fitting. I don't know how that quote can be justified. Andrew Notton needs to rethink how he prices his jobs

Thank you for leaving a review Mr Davies. We fitted your Boiler in October 2016. You contacted us on 18/01/2024 to report a leak. You were quoted £170.00 for an engineer to attend to fix the leak and you were told that our hourly rate is £85.00 including VAT. The reason you were being charged £170.00 including VAT was because until the engineer attends we do not know if the system has to be drained down. You were also told that we would refund you the difference if the works were done within the hour. You told our member of staff you were not happy to pay as we fitted this connection, albeit it was seven years ago. We are sorry to loose you as a customer. We must advise that B & G Jenkins do not tolerate staff being spoken to in an aggressive or rude manner. B & G Jenkins are here to help customers and the office staff will always be polite and courteous if you treat them in the same manner.

Very reliable company

Very reliable company, very quick service when needed. Came when they said they would, found the problem, and rectified it, no fuss just a professional service. Needed a replacement part and received an estimate for this the following day. Excellent from start to finish.

Professional from start to finish

Engineer was a friendly, polite chap who cracked on with his work as soon as he arrived.

He did his best to keep the mess to a minimum & cleaned up as he went along.

I found the engineer to be professional & he didn’t seem to mind answering the many questions I put to him. I think the brews & biscuits helped!

Although the engineer talks you through how to use the Nest thermostat - I just wished that a user guide was issued with it because it took me a couple of hours of watching YouTube videos to get to grips with operating it correctly.
