Don't even deserve 1 star. The most deceitful, dishonest of companies I have ever dealt with. They have treated me like a criminal despite having provided every piece of verifiable document imaginable... See more

My horrible experience (I guess) is a blessing…
My horrible experience (I guess) is a blessing in disguise. I attempted to open a savings account with the Barclays in June 2023. After initiating the opening of the account, I received the standard email confirming the account is open, and verification of my personal funding account needed to take place. Great. So far, so good.
Barclays took about 5-7 business days to initiate 2 small verification deposits to which I proceeded to use to verify my funding account. Before I could verify, I received an email that my account was suspended. OK. Weird.
Called customer service (1st time), and I was informed I needed to send a copy of my bank statement to confirm my funding account. OK. Sent.
I waited another 6 business days for the account verification, only to get another email saying my account was suspended (again).
Called customer service (2nd time) to figure out what is going on, and she said and I quote, "they have decided to end their financial relationship with you". I was shocked. What does that even mean? How do you end a financial relationship that hasn't even started? I immediately asked why I have not received a formal letter and what is to happen to all my personal information that I submitted. The representative apologized and said I should receive a formal letter within 10 business days.
This is the worst customer service I have ever seen in a bank. I would steer clear of this company and choose a more customer-friendly bank with less hassles for new customers.
Customer service laughed on the phone at me
I have a Hawaiian airlines credit card (Actually, I have 3 Barclays US credit card accounts). I'm paying two $100 annual fees on TWO of them, so it would be in their interest to handle this complaint correctly and appropriately.
I tried to make a purchase, my card was blocked. Not only the card I was using (Hawaiian), but ALL of my Barclays cards. This doesn't make any sense to block them all.
There are NO options to fix this in the app nor via text message. CALL ONLY.
This is a TRAVEL credit card. International calls are VERY expensive. This process has not been thought about AT ALL!
I called, waited 10 minutes to speak with somebody, after some time, my account was unblocked.
I tried to make the purchase again (In person, at a store), CARD BLOCKED AGAIN!!!
I called AGAIN! Waited 30 minutes to speak with somebody!!!!!!! 30 whole minutes!!!
The agent I spoke to (Before asking to speak with a supervisor) didnt apologize and laughed at me on the phone. CHECK THE CALL LOGS.
I want:
1. A full investigation into this agents behavior and I want to make a formal complaint
2. I was compensation for $45 worth of calls I made internationally to speak with you to unblock my account twice.
As it stands, I still CANNOT make purchase. This is a TRAVEL card.
If my requirements are not met, I'm going to cancel all 3 of my credit cards.
This complaint is public and im willing to speak to the media
UPDATE: I received one response from "lastniehaus at barclaycardus" stating that: "You tried to make a purchase on Hawaiian Airlines.com and we also reject to compensate you $45". This tells me that they received my complaint (As they mentioned $45), but CLEARLY didnt read it nor address it. The part about the "A full investigation into this agents behavior and I want to make a formal complaint" was completely ignored and they ignored pretty much everything I told them in my complaint. It's really quite unbelievable. I want to speak with a manager immediately.
Barclaycard has abandoned US Cardholders
Both wife and I have a BarclayCard for5+ years, with perfect payment records and credit scores of 820+. . Barclaycard has eliminated perk after perkand finally has decided it simply will not offer its US customers balance transfers at anything other than insulting amounts (your regular interest rate plus a 4 percent fee). You refuse to give a straight answer to my inquiries excet the usual CS mumbo jumbo. Well, Barclay good riddance there's plenty of better cards out that want my business.
