I can't give one star for them

I can't give one star for them. Sorry, I don't have enough to write properly review but I will do that soon. Really very bad company and very bad people. First of all Arron, when he needed let's say favour he phoned. Now no reply on anything. Last time when I phoned him he said he will phone me in 2 minutes and my appointment is going to be late. After waiting all day, nothing happened, nobody comes. Just trouble since day 1. I am not able to use my shower, think that's something what all of us think it's not possible. I paid them enough for 2 not 1 bathroom and now I think I been so silly

Avoid, avoid, avoid.

So disappointed with Arron - it started off well and he was very personable and involved in my bathroom renovation planning. The two workmen sent were well below standard and I had lots of snagging issues to fix.

Arranged for remedial work via the receptionist, which took weeks to book in. Nobody showed up and the company has since disappeared - phone lines down, social media unresponsive. I found their accountants on Companies House - they couldn’t reach them either.

Managed to track the receptionist down on Facebook as she had the company name in her work section - this has since been removed and she claimed she doesn’t know whats happening with Barclays Bathrooms. She did pass on Arron’s personal mobile but he’s not responded at all.

Completely left in the dark and have to deal with multiple issues with the bathroom, which is bound to cost me a fortune to make right.

Avoid this company at all costs, you’ll never hear from them again.

Arron, if you read this - shame on you for what you’ve done to me and many others.

Avoid, poor fitting, warranties not honoured

As per other recent reviews on here the company appears to have disappeared off the face of the earth, number disconnected, emails ignored, facebook messages ignored. After promises to get issues resolved (leaks, scuffs, scratches, damage to units) we had no-one turn up on the day scheduled and have since been ghosted. If you've a job scheduled then cancel it ASAP.

Shower room.

We contacted Barklay bathrooms in Jan or Feb 2022 and ask to renovate our on suite shower room. We ordered the stuff and been delivered at home and after few days they started the project.

2 guys started the job. We choose 2 different wall panels for shower area and the rest of the area. I can cut the panels more nicer then these people's. Left visible gab between the joints which I ended up filling with silicon.
They put cheap extracter fan which did not even suck the steam during winter time. Ask them to change it. No one bothered. I have asked the manager to call me back about the panels. He did not bothered.

Now it's been over a year and realised that the material we have ordered is not good quality even we paid quite a good amount of money. I can say if I buy the material now it would cost me less then they have charged me. Reason I am saying is my shower tray leaked and we only realised it when we had a water mark on our kitchen ceiling and stopped using the shower room.

They have not used quality material and compounds like good quality silicon.

They charged us to remove old tiles from one wall on the shower area which they did not remove and put wall panels on top of the tiles.

These cowboys did not use any water proof membering or compounds under the shower tray or even on the shower area walls.

We have been told that the material comes with 2 years warranty and labour for 1 year. Now trying to call them and they don't pick up the phone.
I think I would keep them away and hire someone professional to sort out their mess.
Very disappointed as nearly 5 grand wasted , I wish I could upload some photos so that people can see.

Poor customer after care

Just after one year of having the bathroom fitted the shower pump packed in. After numerous phone calls I was told the bathroom had a one year warranty therefore I had to get the problem sorted myself, this is despite having an e-mail from them saying if the pump was faulty they would replace it. Fair enough I’m out of warranty so I try to get the issue fixed and this is where the problems start. The pump was put under my bath and the bath panel was glued on, this means that if there is any issues, leaks, pump packing in, the only option is to break the panel off to get access. Having spoken to a number of tradesmen every one have said that the panel should never have been glued on. Despite a number of calls and e-mails all I get is silence, I don’t expect to receive a replacement pump despite an e-mail telling me they’d replace it if faulty. So far I’ve had to pay a jointer and will need to pay a plumber to replace the pump. As I say fair enough the warranty is up albeit only a month, but really disappointed that they have no interest in the fact that I’ve had to have the bath panel broken off, won’t reply to my request to replace the pump they said they’d replace and left my disabled wife with no facility to wash (she uses a disabled chair under the shower which no longer works). The tradesman I’ve spoken to have all said it’s a poor response by Barclay’s.

Unsafe electrical work: unfinished bathroom

Barclays Bathrooms have ceased trading. Beware, they are probably trading under a new name.

Trading standards attempted to meet them several times and they refused to comply. Trading standards cold-called at the offices and never met anyone there. Interesting to read the lies in replies, I have all the written evidence and it does not confirm the responses they made. They also lied on responses on a local Facebook group. Thanks Trust Pilot, this is an essential service!

The job was to refit a bathroom, fit underfloor heating, and raise the ceiling to restore the Georgian height. We would have been happy with anything over 2.8m.

Instead, Barclays bathrooms claim that their quote was to put PVC paneling over an existing ceiling. All communications reveal our expectations with regard to the raising of the ceiling. As the existing ceiling sat below 2.4m, this does not fit with the terms of the job. Nor was the existing ceiling compliant with fire safety standards as it was damaged.

To make matters worse, the underfloor heating was connected to a lighting circuit AND left free in air under fittings. The warranty of the heating was also immediately voided as the control card was left uncompleted.

We paid 150 for waste removal and had to have waste removed twice at our own expense.

The bathroom was left unsealed, with no attempt to finish the alcoves at the shower.

The fitters attempted to frighten us into accepting a ceiling height of less than 2.3m by trying to convince us that removing the existing ceiling risked structural damage to the property.

Trading standards are now involved.

Reply from Barclays Bathrooms

You were made well aware in the designs and written quote that the maximum ceiling height we could achieve was 2.4m as this is the height of the panelling. This is signed for by yourself in the written quote that states 2.4m.

The quote was to remove one ceiling (which was done) then install PVC ceiling. As the existing ceiling was below 2.4m (2098mm) raising it to 2.4m was the term of the job, only 2.35m was able to be achieved although after checking with your husband he agreed that the new height worked well for him being the tallest member of your household. The existing ceiling was up to code until you removed it with another team of unqualified cowboys who in the process damaged the bathroom.

The heating mat was only connected into the lighting circuit to be tested before the flooring was laid as the electrical had not been connected yet. We did not complete any electrical work in the bathroom after your cowboys had been in and cut through live electrical wires some of which had been "misplaced".

You have paid nothing towards waste removal as the £150 comes out of the final balance which has yet to be paid. We also did have the waste collected halfway through the work as there was too much that came out the bathroom and we paid £150 for this.

You agreed for the bathroom to be left unsealed because again your cowboys had created such a mess and damage to the bathroom that we refused to finish it as it was no longer in the agreed upon scope of works.

You are the only customer who has ever complained about us taking care to make sure they know all the possible outcomes before carrying out work, most would appreciate us taking extra time and care to make sure they can make an educated decision.

You say trading standards are involved although after explaining the situation to them they have done nothing to follow up so they obviously do not agree with anything you say.

What you have written in your review is a complete fabrication, as you will be aware we are currently pursuing legal action to have the final invoices paid as agreed.

Problems in the bathroom

Phoned Aaron at Barclays Bathroom with two questions. First question was how do you get the sink plug off so that this could be cleaned but it was stuck he was able to tell us how to remove this. Also had problems with shower no hot water he was able to resolve this over the phone.

**Highly Recommended **

**Highly recommended **
For welfare reasons we have just had our Bath removed and replaced with a Shower unit , The company we chose for this work was BARCLAYS BATHROOMS.
Arron Barclay visited us and spent quite a long time with his thorough survey ** A first class Shower Room Design.**
As a cynic I thought jf he made good 1/2 of his promises we would have received good value for cost.
The three man team who completed the work needed in 3 days were a very friendly and helpful trio, who worked like trojans and did a perfect job.
Arron Barclay not only kept all his promises and more - he was readily available when a couple of minor questions were asked with satisfactory answers.
We have no hesitation in recommending BARCLAYS BATHROOMS for a First Class all round job - Thank you.

Great experience from start to finish…

Great experience from start to finish with Barclays Bathrooms. From the initial consultation, this company were all about finding solutions to help us achieve the exact bathroom we was hoping for.
Special shout out to Yasmine, who was fantastic to deal with and Ross and Cole who both worked hard and left us with a dream bathroom.

Thanks again to all.

Very Professional

Very professional and friendly service. Arron came for the home survey and described the whole process. He brought the bathroom catalogue along with samples for all the wetwall & flooring. He was able to measure and give a quotation right away that was exactly what we paid on the job completion. He was really helpful with making design suggestions and was able to answer all my questions.

The fitters were great, worked very quickly and always cleaned up after. They answered my questions and were happy to sort out any imperfections we noticed afterwards. Overall very thorough and professional job, and slightly cheaper than what we were being quoted for from most other bathroom companies!

Barclays and fitters Derek & Ross Top Marks

I could not be happier if I tried.
From quote start, to completion I cannot fault Barclays.
Arron listened to what I wanted the finished look to be and the fitters did it.
I received excellent service from the fitters, Derek and Ross who were keen to show me their progress on regular basis and cleaned up after everything they did. Always punctual and wonderful singing voices.

Poor quality installation

The sales process was smooth and quick. The people I dealt with were very helpful. However, there were three separate occasions when materials required for my bathroom, were either missing, insufficient or the wrong item (2). It was all rectified fairly quickly, but a 4 day job took 7 days to finish.

The finished job was poor: the shower tray was not sealed properly; the shower leaked from one of the glass panels - not sealed properly; in several places silicone had been missed; no door tread provided to protect the new flooring; a transparent edge trim that enabled you to see the original wall finish.

They were very quick to rectify most of the issues ~( but still 2 outstanding). The experience does not leave me with confidence that overall, the installation will stand the test of time.

As for overall value for money, I can only give it 5/10.

Top quality bathroom renovation

Just had my bathroom renovation completed from Barclays. The transformation is amazing I am so pleased with the results. The products are such high quality and the work carried out by Ross the fitter and his partner was second to none. Cannot fault the finished result. This company is also very reasonably priced compared to others. Highly recommend!
