Brilliant Hospital

My partner had the early stages of Prostate cancer. He went to Barts for radiotherapy for four weeks. All I can say it was an amazing experience. I cannot thank the staff of the people who run the hospital enough.

Thank you so very much.

No proper back up for Barts open heart surgery

2 wks after open heart surgery at Barts my 74 yr old wife spent 27 dreadful hours in a chair at Royal London A and E because Barts do not do critical problem fixing and the London Hospital A and E is unfit for patient care in so many ways. Their failings make patients worse. I wish I had not believed the Barts hype.

NHS HEROES

My name is Samuel Hunter. I am a retired Police Detective Sergeant and I am currently employed a Mentor to students in Greenwich University London.

In July 2024, I suddenly became paralysed down the right hand side of my body due to cervical myelopathy. I ended up being hospitalised in Royal London for exactly 2 months and during that period of time, I saw some of the worst and also some of the very best doctors, nurses and auxiliary nurses who help to keep our wonderful NHS ticking over.

However, among the excellent nurses who cared for me, the following individuals stood out like shining stars:

1. Nadine Gilbert - this nursing veteran was a true angel from heaven who put a smile on every patient's face in intensive care ward 10. Nadine did everything possible to make me feel human at a time when all my dignity had gone, including washing and shaving me regularly in such a wonderfully caring way and she did all that hard work always with a smile on her face. I came across all kinds of professionals during my policing career, and in my humble opinion, Nadine deserves to be recognised nationally as one of the very best the NHS has to offer.

2. Monika, surname unknown, but all these nurses worked in Intensive Care Ward 10 from July to September 2024. I believe Monika was of Polish origin and she was one of the best professionals I've ever come across. Her temperament was unflapable, and she had a permanent reassuring presence within the ward.

3. Paul, surname unknown, but I believe Paul was of Filipino origin. Paul was one of the best listeners I've ever come across. He treated patients with respect and dignity at all times and his professionalism was simply extraordinary.

4. Sabrina, surname unknown, but I would describe her as tall, slim built and of muslim asian origin. Sabrina was highly knowledgeable, reassuring and professional in everything she did. Her management of the medication cabinet to ensure that the wrong meds were not administered to the wrong patient was exemplary. She looked after all the other nurses in this respect and she needs to be recognised for it.

5. Suzie, surname unknown but I would describe her as a medium built Caucasian female who only worked a couple of times during the two months that I was in hospital. However, her professionalism was extraordinary. For example, I projectile vomited and flooded the bed and floor in front of her, and without even calling for any support, Suzie changed my beddings and mopped the floor so quickly, she made it seem like nothing had happened.

I am eternally grateful for the high level of care I received from the NHS and I would like this email to be brought to the attention of Barts Health Senior Management Team.

I have tried to send this message directly to Royal London several times but it keeps being rejected as the email for PALS scribbled by hand on their website is wrong; and the telephone number provided goes to a central location and re-directs to the same wrong email address for PALS as above.

If Trustpilot had a zero star opinion I would have choose it, I spent hours waiting in the most uncomfortable surrounding for my appointment which eventually didn't take place. My experience will not ever be repeated as I have no intention of ever visiting that hospital again

Poor care fron Cardiac Department, AVOID IF YOU CAN

I have been under Barts Cardiac team for some years for well documented reasons. The doctor I saw recently decided to discharge me despiote his view being contrary to all previous doctors and also despite him providing NO evidence toisupport his personal 'opinion'. He did however state that the hospital needed to save money!

Epilepsy Nurses make out they have…

Epilepsy Nurses make out they have tried calling. I watched my phone go straight to voicemail for that message but none of the other calls I received as normal. Basically told me to go to my GP despite me requesting meds recommended by my Specialist. Ended up being brought to A and E by Ambulance due to lack of help!
CQC is my next call.

Review of ENT Nara Orban

To protect members of the public it’s important to call out ENT Nara Orban for her appalling service. If you have an appointment with her please make sure you get a second opinion from a competent ENT - she gives generic answers in complete contradiction to highly experienced ENTs, she treats long term chronic symptoms as trivial, and she makes statements that are untrue and extremely distressing for the patient, ultimately discharging the patient with no further treatment - even when it has been confirmed that they actually need surgery. Any good ENT would agree that this career ENT should be struck off the GMC register, and it would be good for the NHS and GMC to check and evaluate our doctors so that patients can get the treatment they need. Always be suspicious when a consultant doesn’t have ANY reviews online. Stay positive and find someone GOOD who can help you - you deserve better. Take care please!

Delightful Doctors!

On Thursday 26th September I attended Barts for an echocardiogram. I was their last patient so it was the end of a long day.

The clerk was very friendly.

The one female and two male doctors were totally professional, committed, kind, caring, friendly and formed an immediate rapport.

Their sense of humour lightened the experience.

I was very lucky to meet such delightful doctors.

Best Kids Blood Test at Whipps Cross

I took my 8 year old daughter to the Junction 3, Children's Blood Test at Whipps Cross Hospital. The staff were so great with her. They out her at ease and were so fast. They were friendly and gentle. Even my daughter said it was a "great" experience. Thank you so much team. I hope you get the recognition you deserve.

I am going to make an official…

I am going to make an official complaint because of the way I was just left waiting in A&E for 14 hours, after being brought there by police from being assaulted and attacked at a bar. I wasn't offered a cup of tea, support anything. I was at first sent to the wrong department! A complete test of my sanity and strength. It wasn't any kind of service at all.

Quite Simply, The Best

Nobody wants to be in hospital but if you have to be then Bart’s is the place to be.
Bart’s is well managed, spotlessly clean, The staff from cleaners, porters, nurses, physios, radiologists, doctors to consultants are extremely warm and friendly, always a big smile, so vital for patients who are a little anxious. You feel you REALLY matter to all the staff, they raise you up!!! I will not name names as it would not be fair to single out individuals from such a fine team.
To all at Bart’s I send my heartfelt thanks for the care and empathy I received during my stay with you.
With my vey best wishes
John King

Fantastic care at Barts

Fantastic care at Barts. I just had a Pacemaker implanted in the Barts Health Centre. Every single person that I came into contact with helped me cope with what was a fast moving and traumatic experience.
This hospital is probably one of the best hospitals in the UK and is the level that every NHS hospital should attempt to emulate.

The medical staff were all incredibly caring and always had time to answer questions and did everything they could to assist my passage through the hospital.

Colonoscopy department.

Colonoscopy department.
Exceptionally well planned.
Wonderful clinicians delivered great patient care.
Procedure was quick and painless,
I didn’t have sedation, really wasn’t needed.
I felt included throughout the procedure.
Don’t be afraid if you’re offered a colonoscopy, it could just save your life and it’s nowhere near as bad as you’d think, down to the professional team work of Dr Benedick and his nursing staff.
I can’t praise them enough!

Avoid that hospital whenever you can

Avoid that hospital whenever you can. First, waiting time is notoriously long everywhere from A&E to hospital admission, that includes 2-3 hours waiting for a cold sandwich when you were admitted into hospital and were starving on your patient bed. You rarely see a doctor day after day and nurses do not know how to do injections - that can be life threatening in a hospital! It takes forever to get any blood test results. When finally the test is there, the reason why they never call you to give you results is because they had the wrong number. Then you finally call them back to get the results they tell you they cannot transfer your call because the system is down. They don’t know when the medical info will be shared with GP either. Whatever you ask, most likely they don’t know anything! Full of drama and beyond imagination on how a hospital could be run like this, it is supposed to be a reliable place where people cares, seems quite the opposite.
