Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 431 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Consumers frequently complain about increasingly expensive subscription costs and rising license fees that simply do not match the poor quality of programming provided to the public. Many individuals also encounter frustrating technical issues and annoying obstacles when trying to access online streaming media, mobile apps, and official websites. Some reviewers were surprisingly satisfied with specific quality dramas and found certain television presenters to be genuinely fantastic, respectful, and engaging. Some people also felt that the remarkably wide range of available programming successfully offered great balance and made the overall subscription cost worthwhile.

£170 TV licence in the UK. I'm on holiday in Majorca and I'm now expected to pay an annual subscription fee in US dollars. Just to read the news on the BBC'S website. Absolute rip off.

Dear Radio 1,

Dear Radio 1,

I am writing to complain about certain content currently broadcast on Radio 1.

As a parent, I was uncomfortable hearing discussions about washing horse urine and squeezing a dog’s glands. I found these topics inappropriate for a mainstream station with a young audience.

My son listens to Radio 1, and I expect content that is entertaining without being crude. There is a difference between humour and shock value, and some broadcasts have crossed that line.

Radio 1 should consider its diverse audience. Many listeners tune in for music and engaging conversation, not for content that may be unpleasant or insensitive.

I believe the station should review its editorial standards and ensure presenters maintain professionalism and respect for listeners. Some content risks alienating those who expect higher standards from a publicly funded broadcaster.

I hope my concerns will be taken seriously and that future content will better reflect the expectations of Radio 1’s audience.

Yours faithfully,

Caroline Green

RIP off

Nothing but sport! Repeat of Escape to the Country and Bargain Hunt dating back 5 or 6 years. This is what we pay nearly £180 per year for.

I usually like the BBC

I usually like the BBC, but what have we got at the moment, BBC1 Wimbledon, BBC2 Wimbledon. Not everyone is interested in tennis, so how's about leaving BBC2 with tennis and cater for my taste with BBC1.

Sound problem on Iplayer Wimbledon coverage …

Wimbledon coverage on Wimbledon special channel on iplayer is suffering from serious 'cross-talk' on the sound. This manifests itself as a constant whispering of someone seemingly commentating on another match. Very poor in this day and age. Is this the best you can do BBC after being the recipient of all the money we are forced to pay ?

Boycott this rubbish.

You can watch tennis from players all round the world but not able to watch national teams! It’s a disgrace, No England cricket, rugby and little football. Close their channels and save the country and individuals money. Money is tight and we waste money on this rubbish.
BOYCOTT THIS CHANNEL.

Going, going, gone.

At the moment the only programmes the BBC are
broadcasting are:- Cooking, anything about food, auctioneering and repeat after repeat after repeat of all the other programmes. Is this all one can expect these days for their Licence fee?
Probably better if the BBC auctioned themselves off.
I forgot to mention game shows; and all for celebrities and ex-celebrities. What a farce.

Terrible after game analysis

Terrible after game analysis of the England vs Ghana game.
Microphones worked intermittently, wooden presenters.....with the exception of Wayne Rooney. Format with presenters standing up is a joke.

change of plan

had a mate round to watch steve coogan film last night and then it got cancelled for darn football and yet another view of the prime minister resigning.
they don't have a lot of good stuff on imho so how dare they change their mind over screening it. it was still advertised on epg so had to keep looking out for it in case it suddenly came on. ruined the evening really.
i don't think the licence fee is good value for money, they could do a lot more with all the millions!

The BBC weather App is pointless and inaccurate

The BBC weather App is pointless and notoriously inaccurate. For weeks it has been forecasting rain every day and yet it’s been the exact opposite on 90% of the days. It matters too as a friend who runs an outdoor activity centre tells me that lots of people cancel because of the forecast for rain.
In this part of the Highlands there’s only thunder and lightning one day a year on average and yet the app forecasts it regularly ( 25 days a year).
Last week we were in Skipton for four days. The BBC forecast was dreadful and yet there was only one shower that lasted half an hour.
We’re both going to delete the App now.

Watching Tunisia v Japan and commentary…

Watching Tunisia v Japan and commentary appalling. I don’t know who the summariser is but he needs to shut up. There was 5 mins in the first half where there was not one comment about the play just rabbiting on. A total embarrassment. They obviously don’t know the players name. 1 star is far too much

The bbc bloke turned up

The bbc bloke turned up, to a single womans home , starts looking through the window and trying the door to see if it's unlocked, what was his intentions , what sort of people are you . Employing to go around single women's home trying doors, and trying to freely walk in there home to try to and bully them into a tv licence or did he have something else on his mind.

The BBC has become

The BBC has become, in my view, a deeply unreliable broadcaster. What should be a neutral public service has turned into an organisation that feels increasingly biased, selective with facts, and far too comfortable pushing particular narratives while ignoring others. For many people across the UK, it no longer represents balanced journalism.

The trust that once defined the BBC has eroded. Instead of delivering straightforward reporting, it often feels like the news is filtered, framed, or spun to fit a predetermined angle. When a national broadcaster funded by the public loses its impartiality, it loses its purpose.

If the BBC continues down this path, I believe the public will eventually decide they’ve had enough. For many of us, the day this organisation is finally held accountableor replaced by something genuinely fair and transparent will feel like a win for the people of the United Kingdom.

I have a strange purple orb that’s…

I have a strange purple orb that’s appeared in the top right corner of my tv screen. lol, last year I bought a ring camera, and had a strange orb appear in the room above my tv, and then it appeared?! Looks electric or something. I tried videoing it the other day and the screen flickers. With random shadows across the screen and wouldn’t capture it that well, looks like some kind of electric spot in the system looking at it!! Although I’m useless with tech, when I was at uni I kept tripping the house out. Have had multiple microwaves blow up. lol, I once played don’t cry for me Argentina, and then Argentina had a massive black out, big you can’t blame that ok me obviously!!
