We had an excellent experience with Beacon after being recommended by a family friend. Our caseworker was absolutely incredible and kept us informed from start to finish, which made the whole process feel clear and supported throughout. They were patient, empathetic and incredibly knowledgeable.
The expert analysis they provided was impeccable and proved invaluable in helping us win our case, with our appeal being fully upheld.
The service was professional at every stage, and we genuinely believe that without Beacon we would not have achieved this outcome. We are very grateful for their support and expertise.
Our Mother sadly passed away in December of last year after us battling with the ICB since January 2025. However now we feel that we have done her some justice and that's all thanks to Beacon and our amazing caseworker (they know who they are).

I found about CHC funding by watching a TV advert, and whilst my husband was in hospital. My husband's complex health issues indicated that he could potentially be eligible for CHC funding. I got in contact with Beacon, and from the very first conversation I was so impressed by their knowledge about CHC and their professionalism. My advocate was very easy to talk to, she showed great empathy and understanding of my husband's very complex case. She really went above and beyond, and escalating issues when needed. Navigating CHC is not easy and it can be very stressful, but with Beacon and my advocate I felt fully supported and guided. I strongly recommend using Beacon.

Beacon were an invaluable help to us in securing care and necessary funding to care for Mum at home, as she experienced a sudden decline in mobility and increase in pain due to Parkinsons. We would not have got through the CHC process without their advocacy. They guided and advised us through the delays and supported us with the frustration at the ICB’s processes and systemic flaws. Beacon are experienced providers of advice, casework and advocacy and their knowledge and expertise achieved the scheduling, representation and successful outcomes at three CHC reviews. Mum has now been cared for at home for two years and we simply could not have managed this without Beacon’s advocacy and CHC support. If you are in a similar situation I would highly recommend Beacon and would also advise you get your local MP on board too.

When I was looking for help about a CHC appeal for my mother, I found Beacon's website invaluable as a tool to collect thoughts and information. It was also the most thorough website for guiding me through the whole process and setting out different stages. In addition, when I contacted them to discuss my case, they took time to listen to me and make suitable suggestions. Without Beacon I would not have won my appeal. Thank you!

I contacted Beacon for help and advice when mum was assessed for continuing healthcare funding. The stress of going through this process was made easier following conversations with multiple members of the team.
They listened to my problems and arranged for experts to contact me and guide me through a very complicated process.
They arranged a meeting prior to the completion of the main decision support tool to ensure we knew what was going to happen so we could prepare.
We were successful in our application and mum has the care she needs.
I cannot thank Beacon enough and I would highly recommend Beacon to anyone who has to go through this process as they are friendly, honest and reliable.

Brilliant organisation - the initial free advice offered was extremely helpful, dense and thorough. We then opted to use Beacon to advocate for us during an CHC full funding appeal and further DST procedure. The advocate was great, very knowledgable and very strong in terms of advocacy. It is a bit like learning a new language when trying apply for and be awarded this funding for a family member so Beacon were invaluable. The appeal that Beacon advocated for was sucessful. Beacon were however clear throughout the process that whilst they believed our relative was eligible there were no guarantees, outcomes can be quite unpredictable despite clear guidelines.

Beacon never failed to be open, honest, supportive, and kind throughout our three-year journey into challenging the ICB's decision on my father's CHC funding. Every contact was approached with empathy and a drive to ensure we understood the journey and decisions as thoroughly as they did.
While the cost was a little eye-watering, you are paying for their experience and skill - I would not have been able to navigate (and finally win!) the appeal without them. We knew the process we had been through had been flawed and that the original decision had not been correct, but without their in-depth knowledge of what the experience should have been, we would have stumbled through and lost heart.
There were some hiccups initially; nothing is perfect. The NHS report contained several significant errors that our original caseworker did not pick up. I had to spend hours combing through and correcting multiple times. And originally, there was a significant wait between my request for their help and their first contact. On both points, I understand that they were understaffed at the time and dealing with a high demand (and it was over three years ago - things have changed!). Since that point, promises have been kept, paperwork has been accurate, and throughout, there has been genuine empathy for my father's individual needs.
I will *always* recommend Beacon to those going through the CHC application process.

I called Beacon after our CHC funding was stopped. I spoke to Mo twice and then had in depth discussion with Stella. They were both so helpful and understanding in what is an incredibly daunting situation. After the 90 minute discuss with Stella she sent us a 3 page email of advice and guidance. This was invaluable and information I couldn’t have collated alone.
The process of calling, getting a response and setting up the 90 minute discussion was very quick. After having dealt with the NHS and social services over the past year and the frustrations with trying to get information and appointments with them my experience with Beacon couldn’t have been more different. My advice to anyone either going through a DST or who has had their funding stopped, please call Beacon you will not regret it. They will give you the confidence to appeal and will save you thousands of pounds in the long run. Thank you Mo & Stella

I recently used Beacon CHC to help with a local resulting appeal hearing, after my Mum was turned down for Continuing Healthcare. From the first hour of free help and advice to the service provided for the appeal, I can't praise Beacon enough. All emails were answered promptly and they helped to support me through what is a complex and stressful process. My appeal was successful. I wouldn't hesitate to re ommend Beacon CHC

I was actually the 2nd person who turned up on Saturday so how can you say you dont do weekend appointments? The man on reception said you'd cancelled all appointments that day?

I would like to express my gratitude for the outstanding support and professionalism I received from the staff. She was there for me during a very emotional time, offering a shoulder to lean on and patiently listening to all my concerns.
I also want to acknowledge the help I received from the first point of contact before I was referred to the paying service. A gentleman explained the concept of the continuing healthcare budget to me, helping me understand how unfair the assessment conducted by the ICB was.
Thank you very much, Beacon CHC!

I am full of praise for Beacon, their support was amazing and I couldn’t have navigated the CHC process without them. Particular thanks to my Beacon advocates in this incredibly difficult and often soul-destroying process. As an only child my aim has always been to do the best for my Mum and with Beacon’s help we achieved this and won our appeal (sadly learning this 2 weeks after Mum’s death). I looked at several other companies providing CHC support including Beacon, even changing my mind last minute deciding to use them over their main competitor, so glad I did. I used both their free and paid services. They guided me through the process, and I believe had my ICB Nurse Assessor been different (and person centred) we would have not required paid services. However, anyone reading this will know the CHC process is not fair and takes a lasting toll on families. Beacon never pushed their paid services (quite the opposite) they empowered me, were transparent, honest and never over promised. When I was broken by the process, I genuinely felt their support, Anna &Mia from Beacon got me through it. Mia produced a fantastic appeal document totalling 64 pages of evidence, I can’t thank them enough.

From the first phone call to their support team, all the way through to the CHC process, Beacon were amazing.
Even before we had instructed an advocate to our case, we were given so much advice and support which enabled us to not only get a CHC Checklist agreed to, but helped us secure interim funding and finally achieve CHC funding for my father. Even if we had not been successful in achieving this outcome, I would not have been able to fault Beacon.
From their initial support helpline to the advocate who attended the CHC meeting with us, their help, advice and support was invaluable and they made an extremely difficult and emotional time easier to manage.
We looked at several other companies who offer help navigating the CHC process, many of which were three times the cost that we ended up paying to Beacon. And none of the other companies offered such thorough advice and support. I would highly recommend Beacon to anyone who is trying to obtain CHC funding for their relative.

We didn’t achieve success with our DST, however our advocate was great and worked hard in our behalf. I put this down to the criteria being significantly tightened, with a strong focus on complexity, integration and unpredictability, which will remove many previously funded vulnerable people out of CHC funding.
