Great company to deal with and after…

Great company to deal with and after sales backup superb. We bought a Hotpoint washer/ drier from them which developed a major fault after only 8 months. Beacon were on the case promptly after learning about the issue and quickly got the machine replaced with another. Dealing direct with Hotpoint was a complete shambles and I almost gave up until Beacon intervened much to my relief.
Cannot praise this company enough and I will continue to use them for any future white goods as I have done so for years Their prices and delivery service are also excellent!

Excellent company!!

I’ve just purchased a fridge freezer from these guys but unfortunately I was out of their delivery zone by a fair way, I arranged for an external courier to collect from their Plymouth branch on my behalf. Beacon Electrical were so accommodating & kept me up to date with developments & ensured they delivered my purchase to the correct people! (After all anyone could have turned up to pick it up). They ensured that my purchase was in tip top condition & took photographic evidence before it left them in case there were any issues whilst in was in transit.
Very friendly & accommodating staff, it’s a shame they don’t have branches in Hampshire! Would definitely recommend & use again should the need arise.

Great local company

Ordered my washing machine online. Had a phonecall from Jessica the following day to talk about delivery day and access details.
2 of the delivery team came at 8am. They called me first, they were very friendly and efficient. Great service and communication.

Fantastic and very helpful

Fantastic knowledge and very helpful when I rang for advice on buying a washing machine. I thing it was Luke I was speaking too on the phone and nothing was to much trouble, he even managed to get me a cheaper price .Thank you

Not what they used to be.

We've popped in a few times and the staff's attitude is horrible. One customer left after not buying anything and the staff member I would say around 40s or 50s said "Yeah F*** off". Furthermore, I overheard employees making inappropriate comments about female customers, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere.

I came in with my husband and a staff member jumped on us as soon as we entered.
They then were very forceful telling us we needed to buy now. They are very focused on selling you anything even if it's wrong.
We did visit last year and there was a chap with glasses there who was fantastic and a lady who both were lovely and easy to talk to. Since then I've not seen them for a while so maybe they've moved on to different workplaces. After our last visit, we will not be returning. Instead, we went to Currys where the service was much better and they made sure we got what we needed rather than being rushed and forced into a sale. The price was the same and we were not forced into a sale.

Just following up on the reply as you say this is a fake review, I think you need to sort yourselves out. This was based in your Totnes store and I'm appalled you would come out and say such a horrible thing. Rather than try and make things right you go on the attack.

Tumble dryer for disabled daughter

Wanted a tumble dryer for my daughter who has learning disabilities. Ben knew a lot about the different tumble dryers and what I needed to keep my daughter safe. Not once did he try to sell me a more expensive model. Excellent service. Highly recommend. Thanks very much

Outstanding service that I assumed no longer existed
Speaking directly in store with an intelligent, informed member of staff who was intent on educating me in terms of the range and suitability of washing machines, rather than enforcing a hard sell.
I cannot speak too highly of this family run business and the pleasurable experience of shopping for a replacement washing machine that could so easily have been stressful and frustrating which is the usual online experience. Excellent value for money and a staff that genuinely care. Try them and don’t just take my word for it.

Very disappointed with service I…

Very disappointed with service I ordered a microwave my fault I ordered the wrong size phone them to change the microwave it cost me about £400 it was delivered on a Friday a wk later on a Friday. they finally contact me another week later to arrange a return telling me they will pick it up in another two weeks. Also they tell you it’s free delivery but it isn’t they charge you £20 then I was really shocked to learn they are charging me £79 to pick it back up and if I want to order another one it would be another £20. When I questioned this, he spoke to a manager that said they would waiver the £20 but still charge me £79 to pick the original microwave up. How can they deliver a microwave for £20 and charge you £79 to pick one up makes no sense . all in all I’m not very happy with the service as it takes them three weeks in total to pick it up. They still haven’t picked it up. I’m hoping they will turn up . obviously wrapping up my money so I can’t buy another microwave. They will not do a change. They say they need to take the microwave back then credit me then we ordered another one so I’ve gone to a more reputable company, who I have dealt with in the past, with no problems, AO electrics I found this company brilliant in the past to deal with nothing being a problem. I recommend anyone looking for electricals, steer clear of beacon, electrics

We are sorry to see that you have posted a negative review and are unhappy with our service.
We have only been in contact with you since Monday 18th @ 11.45am when you called us saying that you had purchased the wrong size of microwave and would like to arrange a collection, you mentioned that you had unpacked the product so we asked for pictures of the machine and packaging for clarification. 03:09pm we received your pictures showing the microwave had been opened and the plastic wrapping had been cut down on one side but this had been done carefully and could be resealed, our customer service called your back at 15:17pm to confirm that the collection was to be arrange at our standard collection charge of £69, which had already been discussed in the previous call, on this call we were asked about alternative models and asked to check with the dimensions provided to locate a suitable model, we advised that if this was to be the case we would have to raise a separate sale as they would be arranged independently but we would look to see if a reduction on the collection charge could be made if a replacement was ordered.
15:28 collection request was emailed off to the courier.
Tuesday 19th March (the following morning) @ 11:09am we called you with optional replacement models – voicemail left.
Wednesday 20th March 11:47 collection confirmation number came back to us and was passed onto booking who liaise direct with yourself by text/email - from our side everything had been arranged and set up.
Friday 22nd March we received an email from your complaining about the length of time the collection was taking, a member of the sales team called you and explained that is can take a few days for bookings to be arranged but all of the ground work had been done and agreed, we then chased down the courier uplift and it was confirmed that a collection on the 3rd of April had be agreed.
In regards to your amounts quoted this is unfortunately inaccurate we have never quoted £79 and in fact have offered you a reduction on the collection charge if a replacement model was ordered, as you are aware we have a standard £20 delivery charge (which is the same or lower than AO) we offered to waver this on the second product if ordered as gesture of goodwill, and it is only reasonable that we cover the costs of collection and logistics with a collection charge which is in line with all of our competitors, where as we understand that you are not happy this is not a true reflection of our service and the speed and effort that has been put in by our customer service team to resolve your issue.
Once you collection has been completed we will arrange for your refund to be completed.
We can only apologies that you are not happy with our service and would hope that when you review all of the work that has been done to solve this you will reconsider your review.

Plymstock branch

A small store but staffed with very helpful and knowledgeable people. Price point for a built under oven was very good. Fitted and delivered by friendly and polite fitters, who kept us informed as to timings of arrival. Have used this small store several times now, and always pleased with the outcome.

I have used the store in Kingsbridge for many years and always received excellent service. I recently ordered 4 new appliances for a new kitchen and am very happy with the customer service from Riley at the local shop. Highly recommended

Brilliant, helpful service

From the first minute we walked in the door, we were asked if we needed any help. We did because we had an idea of what we needed but some additional advise. Nothing was too much to ask or too silly. Colin was clear and brilliant, checked availablity and gave us the best possible price. Talked us through delivery options and extended warranty for when the machine is delivered. Brilliant service.
