Good product range and helpful staff

We bought our new fridge freezer from Beacon Electrical. They had the one we wanted, made our purchase really easy with delivery at a convenient time, all for a good price. The staff have good product knowledge, are polite and helpful and took great care on delivery. Couldn’t ask for more from our local electrical shop.

I would have given zero stars

I would have given zero star if I could.
I ordered a washer dryer which stated in stock and was booked for delivery. I get a text the day before the item is meant to be delivered to say no stock I am now without a washing machine and have a 6 month old. When I called Beacon they didnt seemed bothered and just blamed their supplier and it isn't their fault. Now I have to wait for their supplier to cancel the order before refunding me so will have to wait longer for my refund.
When it says they have items in stock they don’t they contact their suppliers after taking your money to see if they can source them. NOT HAPPY. Do not trust them !!!!!

We can only apologies that there has been an issue with your order, when you placed your order we had confirmation of delivery for the 14th this model was showing as in stock and is shipped directly from Hotpoint, unfortunately there appears to have been an issue with stock on pick resulting in the call yesterday this is obviously highly frustrating and upsetting as you are being let down at the last minute and to clarify we were only informed after you had been called. Our delivery team apologised and offered to look at alternative models which may have been viable but you have requested to cancel your order and be refunded which we have done with immediate effect, the processing time is standard for all card transactions but rest assured it has been processed immediately from our side.
We always take customer feedback seriously and never what to let a customer down, unfortunately in this case the manufacturer has had a stock issue, we can only apologies again for the inconvenience.

I would have given zero star if I could.
I ordered a tumble dryer which stated “in stock” They allied and said it wasn’t even in stock when I ordered and that they shouldn’t have said it was. It’s over 4 weeks before Candy are hoping to have stock. Now I have to wait 7 working days for a refund. When it says they have items in stock they don’t they contact their suppliers after taking your money to see if they can source them. NOT HAPPY. Do not trust them !!!!!

we can only apologies that you have experienced a problem with your order. To clarify the ordering system is live and stock levels can change by the minute, we run feeds from the Manufacturer which tell our system what the stock level is at that time which has clearly failed to update in the case of this model, and we are running a manual check the ensure availability is as accurate as possible.
Our sales team contacted you straight away and apologised, offered alternative products and of course cancelled down the transaction at your request.
Where as this is frustrating we do not feel that your review is fair reflection of our service particularly bearing in mind this is the second retailer in a row you have has this issue with, our sales team are available via live chat, phone and in store and would encourage customers to reach out, as many do, just to double check details prior to ordering.

Great prices and keen staff

We needed a new washing machine and our dishwasher was on the way out - we bought them from Beacon 16 years ago! Beacon promises a price match, even with big online sites, and also offers a package deal if you buy three items. We added a Ninja Foodi Max and got a great price on the package. We aslo got a five year warranty on the washing machine.
We opted for their services of removing the old machines and the packaging from the new ones and installing the washing machine and dishwasher. The service on the phone was excellent throughout - no waiting in a queue! - and on the day some very pleasant staff fitted the machines efficiently and tidily.
We got the best possible experience and feel reassured that we have a local shop as a backup. If you live in Beacon's area, check them out.

Bait and Switch

Beacon Electrical advertised a price online. I ordered a significant quantity of fans and ordered a couple extra to get the free shipping as advertised for orders over £150.00. I get a call the next day that unless I pay a shipping charge for each individual fan, which was advertised as free, they would cancel the order. Upon reading google reviews, this seems to have happened to a lot of people (bait and switch).

Excellent Service

Fab product knowledge in the shop. Requested morning delivery if possible and they were here early after the promised phone call. Delivery drivers were polite and efficient. Great local service👏👏👏

Very poor service

I purchased an extraction hood from this company. However, the product was highly unsatisfactory. It failed to extract the majority of the fumes it was meant to. Due to a whole flat renovation, it was not installed for a month. As soon as it was installed, I realised it was not fit for purpose. I contacted Beacon after the first use as I immediately noticed the issue. They told me not to ring back as they would contact Hotpoint and get back to me. A month later, I rang back after no contact from them. They insisted that someone should have rang back and I shouldn’t worry as they would definitely sort it this time. They arranged for Hotpoint to attend. The Hotpoint expert said that although the item was working to specification, the product was not fit for purpose. His report only reflected the fact that the product was working according to specifications. No mention of the design fault. After more discussion with Beacon, the issue was escalated to involve a senior expert at Hotpoint. By now Beacon we’re not fulfilling their promise that they would be pro active and return my calls. As a teacher, I could not be available in daytime/ weekday hours. Despite this, we manage to arrange a further visit over Easter. Unbelievably, they sent the same guy to review the appliance. He confirmed his previous assessment that the product was not fit for purpose. I rang Beacon back to explain what happened. Given that we had already established that the times I could be available were rarities, I was furious they had wasted this opportunity. Hotpoint offered a time that I would not be available for the rearranged visit.. Beacon assured me they would negotiate a convenient time. Once again I was promised a call back. I rang a few times and my calls were not returned. On the date the offered slot was allocated, I happened to be off work with a foot issue. However, despite the online update suggesting the expert was on his way, they never arrived. When I rang Hotpoint, they told me that Beacon had cancelled it! I never heard back from them and they did not return my calls. Absolutely shocking service.

Product fine installation service awful…

Product fine installation service awful . Now left with a kitchen door that won't fit the new washer as at no time during the sales process where we asked . Now have to incur more cost in getting it fixed beacon don't want to know once they have your cash . Terrible service .

We can only apologies that you had a problem with your delivery and installation and we do understand that this can be frustrating.
We have contacted Whirlpool home delivery who delivered and installed your machine and confirmed that all aspects of the installation where completed which includes removal of the old machine, reconnection to water and power and reinstallation into the cabinet, levelling and connection testing which is the majority of the installation work. It is correct that the wooden facia door required additional carpentry work in order to fit as the hinges are located in different position from the old machine, had the existing hinge cuts out been in the same location the installers would have attached the door; this is unfortunately a service that we do not offer and is listed in our Installation terms and conditions we can only apologies that this has not been made more clear but the machine was left fully functioning and just required supplementary carpentry work in order attach the kitchen door.
If you feel that any of our investigation information is incorrect do please come back to us and we will reach out to the service team again as this is what we have been reported as what occurred on the installation.

Excellent customer service

Excellent customer service. I purchased a washer dryer August 2022. March 2023 the machine no longer worked. I emailed Beacon electrical on a Sunday. First thing Monday morning Beacon Electrical phoned me and arranged for an engineer to come the next day. Absolutely fantastic service.

Misleading

Says free delivery over £150 on homepage. Final page at checkout they add another £10. Only free delivery if you're local to them. Sly tactics, should state that to begin with.

Beacon electrical have been a saviour…

Beacon electrical have been a saviour to us. We had washing machine ordered fitted and old one taken away, everything was seemless from start to finish. I can't praise them enough. Thank you to Clive for all your help and the boys who delivered it..cheers.

Absolute waste of time

Absolute waste of time, wouldn’t bother.
Says in stock and then ring you next day to say they have to have it delivered in, which is meant to be 14 days but then tell me could be looking at 23 days. Indecisive.

Excellent service. The item I ordered wasn’t in stock so I received a telephone call to inform me when it would be in stock and delivered but if I didn’t want to wait they would refund me. Delivered when promised.
