Castle Donington - Spring Sensation Package - Amazing!!! I feel like a new woman! You get 4 treatments in one session for £69 - and tea and cake! The masseuse was friendly, informative and brilliant! (Cian) I had a back massage, facial, foot massage and scalp massage - I was so tense and she worked diligently to undo knotts and it was comfortable, warm with lots of relaxing music. The decor is gorgeous and I really recommend a visit to the Beauty Temple! :-)

Beauty Temple - Nottingham City Centre branch. My husband and I received a royal back massage and Elemis facial respectively today. Our therapists were Kaela and Courtney. We found the atmosphere in the room very nice - the temperature was good, the massage beds were firm but not hard and the music was very relaxing. The massage/ facial themselves were great and the oils/cream used for the massage smelt so good (but not too intense). The only negative feedback is though we have had a few 55 min massage sessions at this branch, it is always closer to 45 mins.

Nottingham branch - The aesthetics of the place are nice enough and the staff are friendly, but everything else was a big no for me.
Advice for improvement - the lighting is unpleasant in your therapy rooms. The strong down lights are either on or off. You need some pleasant ambient lighting.

The music was a disaster the playlist of gentle relaxation started and then banging club tunes which happened about three times until they got it sorted. Even when the relaxing music was sorted out it was impossible to relax as you could hear the constant thudding beat of the music playing in reception and the talking of staff. I think you need to address soundproofing or adjust your music and vibe to one of relaxation and tranquillity rather than a Friday night.

Biggest gripe - long fake nails! Absolute no-no in massage and facials. Not just for the very obvious comfort of the client, but for a plethora of hygiene issues. Not ok.

It felt like your therapists need a refresher in skills... The message was unpleasant and lacked flow and technique, the therapist didn't tell me what she was doing so the sudden cold scrub was a shock. That was also rough in handling.

The facial was not good, with a constant scrape of acrylic nails and clearly avoided areas due to the nails getting in the way.

The scalp massage was bizarre... I was seconds away from asking her to stop playing with my hair! A very strange approach of running her fingers through my hair.

The tea and cake just felt like an afterthought, with rather old looking herbal tea options and pretty low quality cake. I would avoid the UHT squirty cream too.

For some reason I seemed to be given a large serving spoon of some description to eat my cake. A few cake forks may be a useful addition to your kitchen!

I'm afraid I won't be returning.

My therapist was so lovely, I have been to a few of the beauty temple sites and it has always been an amazing experience. The offers are fantastic value and such a great range of services. This time I visited the retreat and had the treat time delicious package, which was a beautiful treatment with afternoon tea for two. I couldn’t fault the whole experience. My usual salon is Loughborough for all my feminine maintenance and they are equally as fantastic. I can’t wait to visit again soon.

Wow what an experience! I booked a Mother’s Day package and had the best massage at West bridgford salon. The girls were so lovely and welcoming. My nails are the best they have looked after my gel manicure too! Had a lovely tea & cake to top off the experience would 100% be back soon l!

Fab experience! Had an Elemis facial at the city salon and it was the best facial I’ve ever had! I felt so relaxed and felt really looked after. My therapist was really knowledgeable and gave me great recommendations for my skin concerns. I felt so looked after I have already booked another appoint and booked a massage for myself and my partner in a double room. Can’t wait! Thank you! 🤩

I paid £48 for gel nails and they lasted less than 24 hours. 3 nails chipped almost straight away and then all the nails started to peel. Worst gel nails I’ve ever had. Painting was sloppy. The West Bridgford salon was also really dusty from all the nail filing and the nail colours were all sticky when choosing.

I complained over 2 weeks ago and it is still not resolved. They have not replied in almost a week.

Bad manicure and even worse customer service. I would not recommend at all.

Came as a party of 3 for a mother's day treat to the mapplery store. We were new customers to the temple but inhad received gift vouchers I can say we were let down with our first experience here. On arfival we were not greeted with welcoming staff we just had our names taken and told to sit in the window. All 3 of us received wonderful facials however when it came down to having gel polishing things were not so good. We booked over a month in advance however I had to sit for an hour with no update of why I was sat waiting for an hour after my facial with no apology or explanation or offer of even a drink. When i did question i was told then that the lady whom i was sat watching do my daughters nails would then be taking my daughter and doing her facial before returning to do my nails! I did mention to staff that I was waiting whilst they were not busy but I was told that I had to wait. The quality of my nails for the price are poor. I have no gel polish to the bottom of my nails and each nail has marks on where she would wipe my fingers with her nails when she had applied to my skin. I can honestly say it's the worst gel based nails we have ever had done. I asked for nail art which would be an upgrade of £10 but was told the person painting my nails could not do nail art so no i couldnt. I had to wait while she looked
We were not asked upon booking about this otherwise I could have booked this. On application of the nails she gave me a quick 2 minute buff with a file no other preparation was given which is normally given before application of the polish and might i add between marks on my nails from her wiping excess polish off you can see through the polish with what looks like a 2 week growth gap at the bottom. I also had to wait whilst she looked for a dryer for my nails. My daughter had to ask for her nail to be looked at as the top coat had not been applied to one ot her nails The reason for going here was that we had £200 ponds in vouchers and for the cost of what we paid we had an awful end product in the nails. I would definitely return for a facial I wish I could remember the young girls name but she didn't tell me however I would not come to have my nails polished again. Overall very expensive for very low quality nails staff unwelcoming and poor customer service. We didn't have the memorable time that we expected from the beauty temple.

I have had good experiences at the Castle Donington spa previously so when my step daughter said she wanted her nails done for her birthday I thought this would be the perfect place whilst we were in town - I booked her in at the city centre spa for the kids manicure and she was so excited.
When we arrived everything was fine and she chose her colour, she was excited about the cupcake and mocktail which was advertised with it and it never came... I thought maybe I'd got that wrong so I apologised to her and left it at that and we left after approx. 13 mins appointment time which felt a bit short for the amount paid.
Once we got outside I checked and it definitely said about a mocktail and cupcake so I'm not sure what happened there?
We went about our day shopping & having lunch etc and I noticed they had chipped within 20 mins of leaving and the polish was all over her skin? My husband could honestly have done a better job 😭
We decided to go back as she had her birthday party the next day and a different lady did two coats for her and was really nice about it which we appreciated but by the time we got home even that had chipped again and we had to take it off before her party.
£20 may not seem a lot to some people but for a 13 min treatment and missing the two things advertised for it to then chip anyway just seems wild ? You pay for an experience for a special occasion and in this case it was ruined.

Blown away by the treatment I received from Michelle. I will most definitely be coming to her for future treatment! Haven’t felt so relaxed in a very long time, she was attentive and spoke to me throughout the whole experience, she was very professional and she made me feel so at ease and my over all experience was truly wonderful because of her.

We visited the City Centre branch and had a facial with Michelle.
Staff were welcoming and accommodating as soon as we arrived.
Treatment was lovely, relaxing and tailored to my needs.

No items and no refund

Purchased two bottles of polished London mouthwash on 24 January, and paid for delivery in 3-5 days.

On the 30th January, I still hadn’t received confirmation it had even been shipped so I called and was told they’d look into it and give me a call back. I didn’t receive a call back.

I phoned the following day on 31st January and again got told I’d have a call back in half hour. Two hours later no call back, so I rang and was able to speak to somebody. I was told it wasn’t in stock and that I’d get a refund. It’s incredibly poor business practice to ‘sell’ stock … without having the stock. I’d be more understanding if they had communicated this to me, and I wonder whether they’d even have bothered to tell me if I hadn’t have been chasing.

It is now 13 February, and I still haven’t been refunded, nor do I have the items I ordered. I have just called again and have been told management will call me back. Not holding out much hope and will have to proceed in making a claim via PayPal if this continues.

I should have known better as my SIL also had issues with her items and had to chase for a refund. She drove all the way to Castle Donnington, after purchase to collect, for them to say they didn’t have it.

Poor communication, poor business.

EDIT - no call back (shock), so I called again to speak to the manager I was promised … who had left for the day!!

I have now finally been refunded on 14 Feb.

Just nipped in this impressive shop front. In mapperley. to enquire about buying a gift voucher for a friend. 2 ladies at the reception desk.One chewing gum. They were useless I asked about buying a voucher for my friends 60th birthday they had no
idea. No customer service I came out

If they had known their stuff. and been more helpful I would of paid for a gift voucher. But had no convincing that this would of been a good idea. I left went over to the other salon across the road booked a ful mlassage as a gift for my friend for £60.

I came to BT Mapperley for the first time this morning, for sculptured nails (I last had them 35 years ago), as I had a voucher given to me as part of an award for my academic work at NTU. I was initially a little concerned after reading some of the reviews here, after I had already booked my appointment online; well, I need not have worried, the lady did a fantastic job of my nails, was very accommodating (I was born with a finger disfigurement) and I love them!
I have re-read the neg reviews and I can only assume they are perhaps fake and someone has an axe to grind, because I honestly can say, I’ve had the very opposite experience, and I am very particular with who does my treatments!
The lady, (long blonde hair) who I believe was either the salon manager or owner seemed very nice and my type of person (I’m sure I’ve seen her somewhere before?), saying that, so did the lady who did my nails and the other staff member I came into contact with; so please don’t take any notice of the neg reviews!

Migrated there after they bought NKD. Absolutely awful wax, half finished, with grumpy staff complaining about the salon the whole time. Tried on 3 different occasions before giving up.But that's when the card fraud started.

I was on a package that I cancelled because of the quality issues. At this point they told me I hadn't paid for the last two (they claim the payments had failed with the bank but bank confirmed they never tried to take it. They tried to call me to take payment but I refused to answer. They'd told me the payments were accounted for - not my problem.)

A few weeks after cancelling the plan they charged my cxard with an amount of money different to the plan and on a date I had not agreed to without my permission. They refused to refund it as they claim I am in arrears and in breach of my contract (lol good one. My plan was with NKD and I cancelled as they're absolutely awful. Not paying for a half done job you told me I'd already paid for)

The bank blocked them charging my card so they can't do it again but they called me today claiming they're migrating me to a new system and need to take my card details again. Ermmmm why are they asking me this? They still have them recorded. I'll tell you why...because they've tried again to charge the card without my permission and they're trying to trick me into calling to give them my card details again.

DO NOT LET THESE PEOPLE KEEP YOUR PAYMENT DETAILS. Have told thme this is a breach of GDPR to keep my details when I've requested they delete my account.

Go to Secret Sugar Club instead. Nice private salon, offers a similar package and hurts less. She does a great job too.

Just visited the West Bridgford salon and had the best back massage and facial I have had in a very long time.
Michelle was my therapist and she was very professional and did a marvellous job
Would definitely recommend her if you want to have some relaxing pampering

Been visiting waxing salons for 10+ years & this salon has given me the worst 2 experiences of all of them. I had a Brazilian wax in the summer where all the hair was removed except the labia (bizarre! Other salons since have also been wondering why they thought this was a Brazilian wax). I thought I’d give them another chance with an eyebrow & chin wax. I left the salon with wax burns on my eyebrows, & wax burns all over my neck with almost all the hair still on my chin. The swelling & redness I’ve never experienced before - my face is painful! I was given an almost empty bottle of aloe vera gel to take home & no discount or compensation. Not how I expected to spend Christmas with burns all over my face. Until they properly train their staff I’d avoid at all costs.

Not what it was. Overpriced, unpleasant atmosphere and do not value their customers or their team.
Feels like you are an inconvenience at reception, and the moral at the Mapperley salon is low.
Basics such as enough lamps for manicures/pedicures are missing - a shame as it used to be a lovely salon

The place was warm and friendly my masseuse was Chelsea she was brilliant I had full body massage she worked to my tolerance ,she was really gentle .I had full pedicure booked it was not so perfect i think she could of worked more on my feet .THIS place caters for both men and women, it has female workers , I would definitely call first if you are conscious and not comfortable with males around you.
