Beefeater Ware

Beefeater ware, second visit after a terrible first visit, in which the sloppy joe vegan bun had visible blue mould on it. The main was immediately taken of our bill so didn’t leave a bad review as I didn’t want to be to critical. However second visit no mouldy mains but missing dressing on the chargrill prawns and have been sat here with the plates for our mains finished for over 30 minutes. Poor customer service

Dog and Duck

Dog and Duck. Wellingborough. A place with very little curb appeal.
My stay in Premier Inn next door has been hindered by the experience ive just encountered for breakfast.
The person that ive since found out is the Manager whom refused to give his name and laugh at me has decided to take offence that i didnt wait more than 5 minutes at his sign. He then wanted to argue with me about it for another 10 minutes until the point when i was asked if i wanted to be served at all is where i walked out. Its now cost Premier Inn the cost of a breakfast and the promise i shall never return. The most arrogant, rude stupid man ive ever encountered in custoner service. Perhaps a change of career is needed.

I bet you a pound you don’t respond

Hello

Just wanted to let you know about my evening.

I had a meal booked this evening as a surprise for my wife at your countess wear restaurant for 8.30pm. We arrived 5 minutes late as my wife was late leaving work at the Exeter hospital. I thought I’d treat her to a meal to save time when we got home as she was working late.

We were seated but by a gentleman that looked like he really didn’t want to be there. He gave us 2 menus and off he went.

I opened my menu to find my fingers were then covered in bbq sauce as there was a big dollop of it inside the menu that once closed, clearly spread all across the pages. After cleaning it off, I see shared the other menu my wife had and picked what I was going to eat.

Sadly we then waited 20 minutes to be asked what I want to order. Now you know as well as I do that you would normally be offered drinks first, but not tonight. Wanted to take the whole order of food then drinks? I felt really rushed. We were clearly the last people to come in the place and felt like we were an inconvenience. 8.30pm shouldn’t be any issue to receive crap service.

Anyway, food and drinks arrived and were fine, but lucky we were not thirsty as was never offered another drink, was asked literally 1-2 minutes into the meal if everything was ok? What do you think after a minute or so. I had to ask for a refill on my drink as no one asked me again.

We were never offered a dessert once we had finished. TBH I couldn’t have eaten one, but you would have never have known that because no one asked.

Anyway, then it came to pay the bill time. We waited from 9.35pm until just before 10pm and no one was even visible let along come and asked us. The kitchen was in darkness as was all switched off. Looked like we were forgotten. Still no waitress, a lady walked by with a premier in badge on, we grabbed her and asked if she would find someone which she wandered off to return saying someone is coming out. No one did after another 10 minutes. Now forgive me for being sarcastic but am I paying you for this terrible service at best. We had a voucher for a free meal and burgers were half price, so by me losing the will to live whilst waiting, I just got up with my wife and walked out. I will never return to that restaurant despite being quite local.

I then tried to call the restaurant to let them know what I had done and why but guess what, no one answered the phone.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know what a disappointment the whole episode was. But in a time where there are lots of restaurants fighting for your business, you really need to up your game. We are regular visitors to the Grandstand in Newton Abbott, and in 5 years of going there we have never had an issue that has resulted in me having to email the company to complain.

Anyway, feel free to send me an invoice for the meal, and please let me know when you want to pop round for me to collect the money.

No need to respond to me unless you want to, but just a real shame. I think you need to share this email with the restaurant manager, as there are some training requirements I feel for the staff that were on that shift.

Beefeater Woodlands, Gravesend, Kent

Location: Beefeater Woodlands, Gravesend, Kent

Our male waiter(looks French Algerian as he speaks with a french accent). He is not friendly or welcoming!
I ordered a refillable drink and he ignored my request for the refills twice, I have to ask two different waitress for my refills.

As we're paying the bill, he did not explain the exclusions of the agreed discount, we have to ask another waitress to explain it to us.

Once my family is on their way to the car, so not to cause a scene, I caught the attention of a female supervisor/waitress, she wasn't even interested in what I have to say! That's why I post my/family's bad experience today at Beefeater Woodlands, Gravesend, Kent.

Beefeater food quality

Had Garlic Prawns (Thrill from the Grill) at the ‘Mill Lodge’ Beefeater in Lincoln. The prawns were so hard you could play a round of golf with them. I left most of the meal on the plate. Over £15 for 6 badly cooked prawns, a handful of French fries, and a pinch of limp rocket must be providing Beefeater with at least a 500% markup and is just not right! Consistently bad food from most of the Beefeaters I have visited in the last few years. I suspect getting good staff after COVID must be playing a part but in general I find that food standards and quality are getting pretty bad and I have decided not to use ‘Beefeater’ anymore. It’s a shame! But I’m fed up with poor food and paying high prices for it.

I would encourage everyone to write a review (good or bad) so that ‘Head Office’ gets to know about their business. I suspect many complaints never get talked about or any attempt is made to improve things at local level, so let’s make sure that the top people responsible for customer care can do a better job and hopefully improve and return the quality of service we enjoyed 10/15 years ago.

Personally! I would prefer to see a smaller menu with the emphasis on healthy really tasty food. Then I would be happy to pay a decent price for it.

Scunthorpe Beefeater

I just want to say how lovely and amazing the team are at The Anchor Beefeater in Scunthorpe. Alison, Zoe, Louise, Adam and Mike always go above and beyond and nothing is too much trouble for them. They are down to earth and have a great sense of humour which makes us come back weekly, sometimes daily! Their service and smile are second to none and the food is amazing. Thank you team Scunthorpe!

Beware the (non) special Offers

Beware the (non) special Offers
Thought we'd stop off for a meal with Grandsons, and we had a 'Kids eat Free' Promotion code.
Whilst at table there was a 'Half Price Burger after 5.00pm' offer so when the bill arrived we expected to see no charge for the childs meal AND 50% off the burger, but NO!
Childs "free" meal is ONLY the main course, (so should read "Kids eat PARTLY Free") and the Burger offer doesn't apply as you're are getting the PARTIAL 'Kids eat Free' offer
As all these chains are moaning about reduced business, this sort of behavoir doesn't encourage return visits, does it? Especially as menu prices have increased noticably as well.
Reminds me of an old boss I had, he wanted to increase his sales revenue so upped prices by 25%, then couldn't understand why sales & profits fell. The firm went broke a year later, an object lesson??

Terrible meal at Beefester, Swansea Marina

We went for an evening meal at the Beefeater at Swansea Marina. We were given menus and left to choose and then go to the bar to order. The main reason we had chosen there was, having looked at the menu on line, my wife was looking forward to the chargrilled chicken. When we ordered, we were then told this was not available(we wouldn’t have gone there if they’d told us at the outset). Reluctantly my wife chose an 8 oz rump. When it came, the rump was actually cold to the touch so we sent it back. 15 mins later the same plate (mayonnaise etc still on the plate) of food came out with just the steak warmed up (of course everything else was now cold). I have now finished my meal and I am just sat waiting. When my wife started to eat her steak it was so tough that it was a real struggle to cut and virtually impossible to chew.
In any other restaurant we would have refused to pay for her food but, of course, in a Beefeater you have already paid so we decided we had to ‘suck it up’ but would write this so all are warned. We would have spoken to the staff about this but no one ever came to check all was OK, even after we had sent the meal back and it wasn’t as if they were particularly busy.

The long reach beefeater Whitstable never again!

Beefeater.The Long Reach Whitstable
Had a meal here on father's day.
My daughter my wife and myself.
My wife's meal, Steak salad was extremely bloody and well under cooked. She asked the waitress to change the meal. The waitress only took the meat to have it put back on the grill. The salad still had blood all over it.
The waitress return with the meat re cooked and placed back the salad.
Later that evening my wife was violently sick this lasted two day with a further two days feeling bad.
This ruined our first weeks holiday.
Beefeater replied twice asking for photos which my daughter Sent.
Now beefeater are refusing to communicate with her.
We will not be eating it beefeater again.

Beefeater Gloucester

I recently stayed 3 nights in the premier inn opposite for work and the guys in here were fantastic; nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. They're a really good team and have a clear understanding of what good service looks like. It was the hottest 2 days of the year and with the sweltering heat outside my colleague and I set up on one if the table in a quiet area of the pub, Sarah and team were very accommodating; it was very much appreciated.
Great team, great service - thank you.

Beefeater Redditch

Headed there this morning for breakfast and was turned away. Granted we hadn't booked and it was quite busy. However the 3 people in front of us in the queue also hadn't booked but the person on the desk spent 5 mins trying to squeeze them in. No such effort for me and my friend. We pointed out all the empty seats in the bar area but were told they never serve food in the bar area. Well strangely enough the last 4 times I've been I've never eaten in the restaurant area but in the same seats I always sit in, in the bar area.
Maybe the man on the desk didn't like the look of me and my friend? Maybe he was having a bad day?
Who knows? Safe to say I won't be coming back and will recommend to other people that they go to pitcher Oak golf course for breakfast instead where not only were we seated on a busy Sunday morning, we didn't have to deal with the snobby attitude of the guy on the desk.

Harbour Lights Beefeater Portsmouth - Sydney & Dan

Dan, the manager, welcomed us immediately and explained a table wasn't available for 30 minutes but we were welcome to wait in the bar, after I'd asked for a table for 5. Before getting to the table he explained the table was ready and it was just getting cleaned. These small details kept us informed. He explained the new staff member would be dealing with us, Sydney, who you would not have guessed had been working their only a week. Working her way between several tables in close proximity she gave customer service with a smile the whole time. My girls, 5 and 9, she was fantastic with and when they were curious about the in-house computer system she showed them it and how when our order turned green it was ready. Whilst serving food to us the conversation from her was informal and comfortable. With a manager like Dan and a staff member like Sydney, we will definitely be returning to this Beefeater. Sydney is young and new but is already a credit to the company and Dan is a very professional, open and friendly manager who always had a smile.

Not forgetting, the food was hot, tasty, well presented and given the amount of customers in the restaurant the wait time was more than acceptable.
