I purchased three beds totalling just short of £5000 from Bensons for Beds Croydon in February and was hoping for a smooth process, but this was not the case.

The order consisted of 2 Double beds (different colour bases) and 1 King size. I made it clear before placing the order, that the 2 Doubles would need to be delivered to our new address, once we were notified it was ready for us to move into. One of the Croydon store managers assured me that this wouldn't be an issue and it was with this assurance, that I placed the order for the 3 beds.

The King size was delivered on the correct date and time in March. It was the correct colour base with drawers and legs. The goods were as ordered and paid for.

The same can not be said for the Doubles which were due to be delivered to the

new address, which was less than a mile away, four mins by car from the old address. They refused to deliver on the agreed delivery date (22 May) because their schedule had already been set and the items were already on the van. This did not make sense as the delivery date was at least a couple of weeks away.

On the first delivery (30 May) two mattresses and one incorrect base was delivered. Second delivery (17 June) one correct and one incorrect coloured bases were delivered.

I spent countless hours making calls to sort out the first mistake and guess I'm now expected to do the same with the second mistake.

According to your mission statement "At Bensons for Beds, we’re driven by one purpose - to help more people get a better night’s sleep. And with 70 years in retail, and 100 years in manufacturing, we’ve got plenty of experience in making this mission a reality."

My response to this is: Firstly, in order to get a good night sleep you need the bed to be delivered.

Overall the customer service provided by the Croydon managers was unsatisfactory and there was little evidence of knowledge and experience in placing orders.

Unfortunately for our family your mission has not been our reality. To date I still haven't got the bed I ordered.

Both in the shop where we purchased the mattress and the delivery team were amazing.

They were very helpful as just had major operation done everything for me besons for bed your absolutely amazing

We were greeted by one of the sales team ; he ( anton ) asked what we were looking for regarding our special requirements concerning a suitable mattress . From our short discussion , he was then able to guide us specifically to the few mattress's that were best for us saving us alot of time & effort going around the store.

The salesperson Ian was very knowledgeable and attentive and never made you feel pressured when looking around the store.

This is the 3rd or 4th bed/headboard store we had been to trying to find the right headboard for a single bed. We found what we were looking for and returned to this store which is a hours drive from us because the member of staff who looked after us wasn’t too pushy, knew what he was talking about and was helpful.

Wardrobes seemed good quality. Fitted and delivered in 8 weeks and good sale discount of 25%

The sales person was very helpful and knowledgable

My husband and I bought a mattress at bensons for bed at the Croydon branch just before Christmas we waited for 1 month when it arrived I quickly realised it was not the mattress I’d chosen, but it was paid for now so I dressed it and kept it. This is a damaged Mattress it sloped badly on my side I’ve called and complained I’ve been back to the store , but because my name was not on the receipt they won’t help me. If you buy a mattress from here please purchase as Mr &Mrs or you will get nowhere quickly, I’ve particularly fixed the hole I’m sleeping in with a soft fleece fabric and a topper, now 5 months later in waking every single morning with chronic back pain and real anger, I didn’t want to bother my husband to get on the phone as it takes ages and he’s a busy guy, but more the fool me me I guess, I’m now looking to try to get a new Mattress without my husband noticing as he’s still paying on interest free credit, buyer be aware.

Great choice, excellent service from Ian without being pushy, would definitely recommend.

I was just going to look at mattresses but I ended up buying one! There were plenty of mattresses to choose from and the assistant was very helpful. I then spoke to the manager as I couldn’t decide which mattress was right for me but he explained fully which mattress was best for my needs so I bought one and it’s extremely comfortable!

Ian the assistant was very helpful. Showed us the right range of mattresses for our budget and need. Knew the frame we wanted so together all good. Very friendly and explained everything well.

We visited Bensons for Beds in Croydon to choose a Zip and Link bed, and the customer service was outstanding. Ian was exceptionally friendly, took the time to understand our needs, and guided us through all the available options.

The next day, we needed to change the order to my husband’s name, and the process was incredibly smooth. It was such a refreshing experience to call the store, speak directly to someone knowledgeable, and get immediate help—rather than being redirected to a call center!

We hope the delivery goes just as smoothly.
