I'm a great believer in. It's not how you start. It's how you finish Which is why I left the review until now.. We went to the store to look for a bed. They were very helpful in finding what we needed. We eventually were offered a deal to buy a X display mattress. We were told upon purchasing the mattress that it would be removed from the showroom and stored safely for when we picked it up in 3 weeks time as the base and single mattress we bought wouldn't be delivered until then. On arriving back to the store today to my surprise it was still on display in the showroom which was obviously very disappointing because had I known that it was going to remain in the showroom for the 3 weeks I would have arranged to have picked it up beforehand.. unfortunately I can only give 2 stars for this purchase because you shouldn't give assurances if you can't follow through just to get a sale

After a visit to another bed shop with poor service at Cheltenham we drove to Bensons Beds I Gloucester and were served by Matt. My daughter was buying a bed for my 14 year old granddaughter who was unsure exactly what she wanted. Matt was very patient and helpful explaining about different mattresses and styles until a decision was made. As the bed was more expensive than expected he left us to make a decision without pressure which was reassuring. He dealt with the paperwork efficiently and was a very pleasant salesman.

We purchased a Grantham Ortho Backcare Mattress in-store on 27 June 2025 (Order Number: C3704570).

Shortly after using the mattress, we began noticing that fibres were shedding from it, appearing all over our clothing, blankets, pillowcases, and even the floor. As we do not have any pets, it became clear that the fibres were originating from the mattress itself. The situation has persisted for months, and it is disturbing, disgusting and unhygienic to have fibres spreading throughout our home.

We contacted your customer service team and were informed that Bensons for Beds expects mattresses to shed fibres for around six weeks. We were very surprised to learn this, as:

1. We were not informed about this issue before making our purchase.

2. The product description contained no warning or note stating that the mattress would shed fibres for months.

3. There was no information provided regarding any potential allergy or health effects caused by the fibres.

It appears that the mattress we received does not meet the standards required under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, as the product is not of satisfactory quality and was not accurately described at the point of sale. As the issue was identified within six months of purchase, we are legally entitled to request a replacement at no cost to us at this stage.

We are happy to provide any necessary information, photographs, or supporting evidence to assist with your investigation and resolution of this matter.

Staff were really friendly, personable, knowledgeable & helpful, especially Alan, who spent a considerable amount of time with us, talking through the different types & make ups of mattresses, trying them out & providing a variety of pillows to ensure we had correct levels of posture, alignment & comfort. We walked away very much looking forward to our new purchases arriving! Thanks Alan :)

Gloucester Store - We went to Bensons with the details of a mattress we bought in 2020 and wanted to buy another like it, but were aware you no longer supplied Silentnight products. Steve (with decades of experience) knew the mattress we were talking about straight away, and showed us the naturals product in the Slumberland range, which had just the same feel as the one we bought in 2020. He also introduced us to another version of a pocket spring mattress. He was so helpful and informative and answered all our questions as we navigated choosing a mattress and a new divan.

I knew 3 days before, the 2 hour window that the mattress would be delivered. Then a call 30 minutes before delivery. The employees were effective, efficient and humorous

We were helped with choosing which bed was best for us.

We had a great time with the employee. They were massively helpful and let us try the bed machine so we could find out what kind of mattress we needed. She also provided some recommendations for mattresses that might help with my joint issues and chronic pain. Overall a really easy experience made better by the helpful staff. We think that the staff member who helped us probably deserves a desk for her efforts!

Whilst friendly and polite, our customer assistant was vague on many issues and gave us incorrect pricing only picked up when the order was being processed and some charges were not explained either until this. He did apologise, but this wasn't good enough.

Shocking. Ordered a new mattress, was given a delivery date. Was told that would receive time slot 3 days before. Rang 2 days before as no delivery slot sent, then to be told they cancelled my delivery slot. I didn’t receive any notification at all from Benson for bed. We added mattress recycling to order but wasn’t aware had to pay otherwise order delivery get cancelled. I understand if outstanding payment got bed but it was for recycling
