Very helpful in purchasing a bed

At a time when you can order high quality mattresses online with a long sleep guarantee that have zero return fees, and zero delivery charges, Bensons are doing business in the past.
Bensons currently will not give you a refund once it has been delivered, and should you want to use their '40-night comfort guarantee' they also charge a 10% fee of the original mattress price AND a delivery fee for the replacement mattress, even though they will be picking the previous one up anyway.
We were on the phone when arranging the replacement process that the manager 'may waive the fee', so it was at his discretion, but nope - an absolutely brick wall on that one when we actually visited the store.
Just to add insult to that, the in-store customer service was appalling. One particular member of staff at the St Andrew's Quay (Hull) store, was incredibly condescending, bizarrely defensive given the guarantee is there for a reason, and absolutely unhelpful, constantly questioning why we wanted to exchange it, and telling us that the new choice of mattress was 'just as firm' (it absolutely was not).
Given that myself and my family have used Benson's numerous times in the past and spent thousands on mattresses there, and also that we have used an online brand also to much better effect (they replaced a mattress with no fuss and no charges, and best of all with no unhelpful, badly-trained staff to deal with), we will no longer use Bensons For Beds either online and certainly not in-store.

Great experience in store, hoping delivery and installation lives up to the same quality.

I was greeted by Steve when I entered the store in a friendly and helpful way. He took the time to do the sleep assessment with me and then showed me suitable options. He did not make me feel under pressure in anyway to make a purchase and respected I needed time to go for a walk to think about options before I returned to the store later that day to try the bed/mattress again and then place my order. He answered all my questions thoroughly, was extremely patient and helpful. Thank you!

Steve was great, explained everything as we went along. We didn't feel like we were being rushed or pressured at all.

Took over 8 weeks for our wardrobes to arrive only for there to be missing parts another 8 weeks later we are still waiting for them to be finished we paid cash upfront aswell and still no doors on our wardrobes they also ripped the wallpaper I'd just put up the week before sick and tired of been fobbed off with lies and excuses do not use this cowboy outfit 😡

We ordered a wardrobe for our front bedroom early July 2025. When they came to fit it on Monday 29th September 2025 it was missing 2 shelves and 2 door runners and a handle as well as having a twisted front panel and big chip out of the top of the drawer. They took the front doors away as we had no where to store them and were told it would be a further 4 to 6 weeks t get the missing and replace the damaged parts. We called customer service and they were very unhelpful almost dismissive. We were promised a call back yet nothing so we call again 3 days later to be told nothing they could do nor were they willing to try. We asked for a manager to be told we would again be called back....nothing from them at all no call no email. High handed dismissive and poor service for a £2000 wardrobe, I wouldn't shop with them again if it was free and I would advise others to avoid and use a reputable company instead that truly cares.
Update.....after 2 more calls we have to wait a further 6 weeks for the parts.....we are at the back of the queue to get the missing parts manufactured and sent. Total lack of customer service and customer satisfaction is none existant.....oh I can have the delivery charge refunded...oh goody well done Bensons! Again avoid at all costs dont spend your money with them they are happy to disappoint and then tell you that is the way it is.
