We had a 93 year old wheelchair bound member of our party and there is only one disabled parking space. So we didn’t always get this space but the rest of the car park was down a steep slope which is... See more

Best Western Newark
Booked for 2 nights at Best Western Newark. The room was horrendous. It was filthy and smelled. The light fitting was full of dead flys and other debris. The bed sheets looked as though they hadn't been changed from the previous guest. The toilet/ shower room was even worse. The whole room needed cleaning and up grading. I refused to stay in the room, even though it meant me loosing my deposit, but no way was I going to stay in this room. This hotel is no way worthy of 3 stars.
BW at Port Talbot
We booked BW at Port Talbot, near the beach, lovely location however very disappointed with the hotel. I booked this particular for SPA and pool, which we didn’t even told that this was closed but could go over to the leisure centre which didn’t have sauna/steam. When complained said sorry, and the rooms were duty, found one chair with big patch on which we did get changed. Then the shower didn’t work well you just dripping, didn’t complain due to they didn’t care. I wanted to leave but my husband to tired to move And we paid nearly £100 a night which we were not getting back. Not booking again for BW hotel because this is 2nd one I found so run down, needs to update the furniture and doctorate the rooms.
Best western Dartmouth hotel golf & spa
Wow! Where do I start, we booked a suite for that little bit extra in quiet golf course after our extremely long and tiring journey however disappointingly wasn’t expecting the extras that we received in the suite! Heavily stained sofas that were that grubby looking we even couldn’t bring ourselves to actually use them. Various staining on the carpets in all the suite areas, wall had water staining where a roof leak had allowed ingress run down the walls the furniture very dated with heavily worn areas on the top surfaces and the rooms appearance just tired.
Adding to this the room was extremely cold on arrival and following turning on all the electric wall heaters there was a smell that filled the room almost like urine and presumably where the heaters were old and was burning off all the dust accumulated within where not used for some time and very unpleasant.
The seats in the bedroom had the base material hanging from the seating where split/torn and added to the overall feeling of tiredness and an uncared for room along with the mould growth around the windows & embedded in the tile grout in the bathroom.
To say i expected more than this level of poor comfort after paying a premium price for what we believed the best room and an upgrade, this suite is unbelievable for all the wrong reasons however wont mention this to the desk team on checking out while we’re here unless asked how our room was as do not want any confrontation and spoiling our day ahead as arrival did to the room. We were extremely tired and wanted to rest.
We stay with Best western on a regular basis all over the country and tbh this is by far the worst experience we have had over the years and most certainly wont be returning here and would also make us consider our future options of using BW choices apart from the previous properties we have stayed and found delightful.
Staff at the site I complained to were grateful & appears they’re as disgruntled as we were with the owners and appears it’s a reoccurring complaint that no one follows up
On a positive note, the view of the tree line from the window & natural birdsong was beautiful, however you were responsible for neither of these.
If anything ever goes wrong with your…
If anything ever goes wrong with your booking all they'll say is all of our hotels are individually run so they don't care. They still show your name best western, people used to trust your brand, like i did, i don't anymore. No point complaining, go straight to your card company. Best western will go bust soon, they're not in the same league as travelodge! Travelodge help their customers
Should be ashamed housing asylum…
Should be ashamed housing asylum seekers in thier hotels I for one will never use a best Western hotel again and I urge you all to boycott them aswell house the homeless first
What a dirty hotel
What a dirty hotel. Mother and son run.
The son is a freak and is like something out of the league of gentlemen. Food is good and the staff very kind. The son in pink dress most nights makes you feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. It’s all about him. Seems like he’s turning his mother’s and father's hotel into his weird dream! Don’t stay there.
Best Western Plus Buxton Lee Wood Hotel
This Easter we had the most enjoyable stay at The Best Western Hotel in Buxton (UK). We were received by a very friendly and helpful Duty Manager, Lorena. The service we enjoyed was outstanding. Consideration for us was paramount. Our room was modern, spacious, comfortable and cleaner than clean. The breakfast each morning was delicious. My wife and I would definitely recommend this Hotel as the staff showed professionalism in their individual roles. Lorena was extremely helpful and quickly brought us up to speed about the activities we could enjoy in and around Buxton too. Thank you Best Western Buxton UK
This company is clearly a scam
This company is clearly a scam, from my perspective!
They do not care about their own policies, they do not have customer support, nothing!
The staff at the best western are…
The staff at the best western in Sylvan Lake, alberta Canada are beyond incredible. We stay there often and we are treated like gold every time. A huge shout out to Tammy for always giving us the best experience and hospitality. Thank you. Leona and Ken Krawchenko ( AKA) Mr and Mrs Smith. lol
Useless app
One of the, if not the most useless app in the history of man. Fire everyone involved in making the best western app.
Once we got to the hotel and worked things out it was great. Really good breakfast
Two friends and I stayed for a night in the Best Western in Loxton with a spa. This is an example where missing communication - words are free to use - reduced the experience, which would have been 4 or even 5 stars.
The welcome email mentioned the pool, sauna and steam but did not give times, closures or process. We learned the hard way. They wanted bookings online, barriers to entry and was not inclusive, when we could call the hotel and book on the phone. We were told the pool closed at 6.20pm and the whole process was confusing. So phone number and request us to book with opening times right there in the email.
Secondly, getting there. This could be simple. Provide an area map and satnav style turn-by-turn directions. We turned off the M5 at junction 22, so far so good, then drove around for over an hour. Simple solution. Turn off at exit xx, take A38. turn left at New Inn, Quick, clear and simple. you'll reach the hotel AND MAP!! a bit of 'show not tell'. It's always good to cater in pictures (1000 words) as well as words. One step at a time. We got to a lane that was closed and then it was miles of wiggling on the very small roads they wanted us to avoid. That was a fail.
We discovered in about as indirect a route as possible via notices stuck around, that the pool re-opened at 6.30pm - not mentioned on phone. Incomplete information is a waste of time, effort and energy. Please give a complete picture. Facts create choice.
We missed the dinner food entirely, not sure when kitchen was going to close, but they did help us find a takeaway that delivered to the hotel. That was great.
The layout of the spa is bizarre and the wet floor slippery. Also, there were unexpected steps in many places. Trip hazards. We were given a towel at the spa reception but there were no keys for the lockers in the first, obvious changing room. Then when we went to the sauna and steam, there was another changing room with lockers and keys and large showers. But these showers had glass between them so no privacy. There were hints at the casino this hotel once was. Secret rooms and strange routes.
The room was big and comfortable with a bath with handles and a shower. The bathroom door kept opening so no privacy there either.
The breakfast was brilliant. Nice filter coffee kept hot. Fruit juices, fruits and cereals and a full English buffet bar. The tastes of the buffet items were a little off. The kitchen provided items such as local Cheddar cheese, poached eggs and porridge, which I loved.
The staff were really friendly and helpful. Just sometimes didn't fully inform us when asked for information. Up the commms, this would be 4 or 5 stars.
"please be advised Junction 22 is the most direct route from the M5 motorway with easy access from the main road A38. Sat Nav updates will attempt to bring you through the countryside, please ignore and follow the main road route. "
This could be: 1. Junction 22 2. take A38 3. Turn..... 4. the hotel is on your right 5. MAP of this process.
Then from welcome email: "Complimentary use of our Leisure Club is included in your stay, this includes a; Heated Swimming Pool, Sauna, Steam Room & Gym."
This ought to be: Telephone number and explain when we call when it's open and to book per person. Simples!!
Parkmore Hotel & Leisure Club
Haven't been here for years but decided to give the bottomless brunch & spa day a go - pleasantly surprised. The staff were all lovely especially at the Birdcage restaurant, we had a lovey young lady named Hope looking after us, she was very attentive, cheerful and held great conversation with everyone in the restaurant, nothing was too much trouble for her. Nice food in comfy surroundings that were kept clean and tidy. SPA was relaxing - pool, steam room, sauna so all good. A nice relaxing day. 😌
Best Western Pontypool Metro
This hotel is lovely and friendly. There's a few things around it like Mcdonalds..KFC...Gregs....Subway....Harvester...Asda Garage....and also an Aldi. The room was set out strangely I had to plug the kettle in away from where its kept as there was no plug sockets near where it was kept. The room was a little un clean on arrival. Bits of previous owners crumbs on the floor and someone had been for a number 1 and not flushed it...it does say towels and toiletries are provided but was no toothpaste and the shampoo and conditioner is in 1 tiny little bottle and a tiny bottle of body wash. Only 1 towel for 2 adults too...On arrival only 2 little sachets of coffee and 2 little sachets of milk and 1 little pack of 2 biscuits....if you know the booking is for 2 people i dont understand why the room isn't prepared for 2 people to use. The breakfast wasn't too bad for choice plenty there to choose from..cereal...bread/croissants...full English items...coffee/tea. Starbucks is also available but this obviously at a price. There's also a little bar so alcohol and refreshments were available not badly priced either. Overall the stay was lovely the staff were friendly and helpful and I would definitely stay again when travelling to visit family.
Best Western Colorado River Inn is the Best!
When you get off a train at one o'clock in the morning, and you don't have to wait until the 3.00 pm check-in time, believe me, you're grateful.
I had been worrying about this a bit, I'm very pleased management was so understanding.
For the record, my room was fine, clean and of a good standard.
Then disaster, an arctic storm hit America and my return train trip to L. A. was cancelled!
Staff were very supportive at this stressful time, supplying me with numbers for local taxi firms to help me get to the nearest airport. However, I had to make several calls and (not unhappily) expected to pay for them upon checking out.
Well, they were only local so I didn't have to. But it was nice to find that out. A bill I thought I'd have to pay, I didn't have to pay. In a small way, that made my day.
Not only that, Diana the manager let me hang around the lobby and even watch TV while I waited for my taxi. Such small kindnesses make all the difference.
If I can get my ESTA renewed and learn to trust Amtrak again, I certainly hope to return.
A very good day at the Inn.
Worst hotel ever
We tried to stay at the Best Western Weybridge and will not be staying here again.
We shown to our executive room which had a loud noise coming from the roof. We informed maintenance but they could not stop it and suggested we change rooms after a heated discussion with reception we eventually were offered another room which was not clean.
We then decided to no longer stay here and asked for our money back, we were told it’s not possible and to speak to the head office when we spoke to Head Office we were told we have to email.
The general manager of the hotel called to say there is no way we’re having the money back. this is a disgrace. They took out money in good faith and gave us to 2 faulty and dirty bedrooms.
I have now read many online reviews of this Weybridge hotel, and it appears the management are very argumentative and many people are complaining. I will never be staying at Best Western ever again.
Supporting terrorist states
This hotels are known for hosting events sponsored by terrorist states, such as Russia. If I were in you I'd avoid them at all costs.
Best Western Chilworth Manor afternoon tea
I had the pleasure of recently experiencing a fantastic afternoon tea at Chilworth Manor. Accompanied by my mother, we were instantly greeted by a friendly employee as soon as we entered the establishment. Throughout our journey to the restaurant, every member of the staff we encountered greeted us warmly, emphasizing the pleasant and inviting ambiance of the manor.
Upon our arrival at the restaurant, Socrates warmly welcomed us and ensured our comfort before taking our drink order. Socrates went above and beyond to ensure that our needs were met and that we received excellent service throughout our visit. The food provided was delightful and fresh, showcasing the establishment's commitment to quality. Additionally, the restaurant's elegant setup and cleanliness added to the overall enjoyable experience.
Based on the exceptional service, delectable food, and charming atmosphere, it is without a doubt that my mother and I will eagerly return to Chilworth Manor in the future.
When a lobby is not a lobby
Do not use the best Western heathrow. Firstly, it is on bath road to the north of the airport and it is now an expensive and time consuming travel to any terminal. Their are 5 hotels in the complex, mainly at t4 and one at t5, use them. In addition, i was meeting people here and was monstered by three heavies who had been trained across the border at the taliban charm academy. I have often used hotel lobbies when not a guest - that is what they are designed for, most recently at reids, funchal, (a much desired destination) waiting to meet guests for afternoon tea. Questioned in the most polite way, this was no problem.
If this is how they treat a visitor, i hate to think what treatment a guest would receive.
AVOID
What a find Leigh Park Hotel
What a find Leigh Park Hotel in Bradford on Avon is. Best Westerns are usually faded ladies. This is a stunning building; we stayed in an amazing room, bay window, views beautifully appointed.
We were lucky enough to dine in and my oh my, what wonderful food we all ate. Better than many upmarket restaurants we go to. We’ll definitely book to go back, just for the food. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend, but remember it is not a 5 star hotel, though the staff and food are worthy of those
Homophobic hotel chain
Homophobic hotel chain - avoid at all costs.
Receptionist at one of their hotels lied about being over booked to try and separate my partner and I into single rooms because he didn’t want us to share a double.
Management have since tried to palm off and to cover up the issue and have ignored any attempt to resolve. Disgusting service and totally LGBQT+ unfriendly - avoid at all costs.
