As soon as I made my first deposit, my account was frozen. They demanded 5 different types of ID and then rejected two of them. After re-sending more ID, they then demanded pictures of the same ID with my face included next to them. They ignored my request for arbitration. They only released my money after I said I would refer them to the gambling commission.

Never had this treatment from William Hill, Skybet, Bet 365 etc

Brief details: My account was frozen immediately after I made my largest deposit with them. After passing all of their security checks it was permanently closed without explanation and they refused to return my money. They told me that they were no longer going to communicate with me and I would have to wait six months before they reconsidered returning my funds.

Full details: They asked for several forms of ID and approved them all. I was asked to explain my connection to another username containing my surname (my surname is amongst the most common 70 surnames in the UK). I told them that it wasn't my account. They accepted this and re-opened my account minus all of my funds.

I asked them to return my money and as soon as they did, my account was restricted again. They then asked for a selfie with my ID, which I provided and they approved. They then asked me to explain my relation to another player who had the same surname as me. I explained that my surname is very common and it shouldn't be a surprise that somebody else on the website has the same surname as me. They accepted this reason and told me that once I had logged back into my account it would be fully reinstated.

I was busy for a few days, but as soon as I signed back in they decided that they weren't happy with the previous selfie with ID that I had sent them, despite this having previously been approved. I was asked to send another, so I sent four. At least one of these was approved.

They then changed their minds about me not knowing everybody with the same surname as me and I was told to explain my relation to somebody who shared my surname.

I provided them with evidence that my surname was extremely common and told them that I don't know all of the other 90,000+ people in the UK with my surname.

I was then told that I had failed the screening process and that they would be closing my account. I was told to contact them in six months to see if it could be reinstated.

I asked when my money would be returned and how I was supposed to have failed the screening process when I had previously passed all of the security checks before somebody reversed the decision.

They told me that they were not going to communicate with me for the next six months and that I would have to wait until the time had passed if I wanted my account reinstated or my money back. They refused to explain how I had failed the screening process.

NOT GOOD - i too opened account they allowed deposits OK - as soon as i won they requested ID - which i provided, ID was accepted but because a family member had closed account with them they put my account on hold - THREE DAYS later still no response - i can only email them no support number to call - this practice is no good they think they can hold peoples money (typical mentality of these betting sites), they need to speed this up, they must think we are mug punters and that they are somehow more important than their customers - they seem to get away with it - as these comapnies usually do - a law to themselves.
my advice avoid this site - another one way online betting site - its just not worth the agro !!!

I put a bet on a game, 500 dollars, and won. They froze my money and suspended the game. Its still pending 2 days after. Give me my money or Ill call the police and get you closed.

I’m not a gambler. There were 2 transactions for £50 that went out on consecutive days and the bank spotted another due to go out tomorrow. It’s an out and out fraud. They were known to the bank and the bank said that they are buying card details from crooks in card clearing companies. They were using my debit card. The transaction on the statement said STARS with a transaction number underneath.

They wait for you to deposit then suspend your account so you can't place bet u want under the guise of security check when you had account for couple years firms a joke then ask for passport utility bill what u had for breakfast etc then had trouble getting money back as I wasn't divulging info. Crap firm.

Some of these reviews are a joke if you don’t abide by the rules the betting regulations set to which betstars have to abide by. Think you just moan for the sake of it.
My honest opinion at first they didn’t show enough inplay betting but as time as gone on theve improved given more variety and more bets options never be like the top betting sites but there getting there. As for my account I sent all relevant Id in that was requested and never had no problems with withdrawl always done within 10-20 mins and a confirmation email to say it’s gone through. When I needed some advice about my account they were quick to respond and made it clear for me to understand. Overall a good betting site getting better as it grows

Betstars is a disgrace to online bookies. I don't even know where to begin. They suck all over and in every single way.

Surprised i had a good experience after reading these reviews. Only pain was that as soon as i deposited they said my id number hadn't been verified so i had to send off a photo of my passport, they verified it was my and i regained access my account within 2 hours. I had a biggish win and requested withdrawal, they credited my initial deposit to my bank immediately and the remaining amount was pending, they verified it within 10 minutes and credited that to my account. Tip for everyone out there moaning they cant withdraw - Make sure you have the documents you need to prove who you are before you make a deposit, and make sure you are able to scan or take a good photo, if they ask for this info and you dont have it to hand then its obviously going to be a pain to withdraw, you cant moan at a company that handles your hard earned money for being tight on security!

The first thing i see is they've got all this bad publicity and nobody from the company has tried to resolve the issues. That tells me right there they couldn't care less about their customers or what people think just the ££££

They don't even have a phone number to contact. No live videos to watch of the event you have bet on. Customer service non existent. Free bets not even existing anymore

Oh and when you deposit then go to with withdraw they make you wait for 48.hours before you can withdraw your own money. Somethinh to do with fraud and collision they claim which is nonsense. Don't seem to care about fraud when you deposit your money

Blocked my account a day after opening after id bet £40 and won £80, asked for proof of ID, i sent it via their help service. Emailed said it would take minutes. Ive not been unblocked, cant access my money, cant place any bets, THERE IS NO WAY TO CONTACT THEM. Other than by emails which go totally ignored. Its been days now and i feel theres no option but to contact the ombudsmen. Complete scam artists, if i hadnt won they wouldnt of blocked the account.

Betstars are a f@cking joke! Stay well clear guys! Joined them.. deposited £10.. froze my account.. reopened it after 7 weeks.. didn't receive my free bets either.. tw@ts!

Had the same problem took my money but as soon as I won (good win ) froze my account asking for photo and bank statement , looked at reviews and thought not good , done what they asked for , sent a couple emails regarding my account , payed up after two days , happy days , they took off live chat when they asked for photos etc that's only complaint I've got , when I've won on other accounts they've asked for the same passport etc .

Frozen account after deposited huge amount of money, no reply even thought it says on the site 24/7 support. No contact number given on site.

I could maybe forgive the terrible customer service, the lack of free bets, lack of ability to watch live sporting events you've bet on if the odds were any good but they're not. They're not even average

1st heard about this firm 2016 soccer season when when onto oddschecker and they came up constantly best price on game after game. I can now see they did to get publicity and people to sign up by tempting them with good odds as now the 2017 season the odds are never the best. In fact they're not even average.its like they don't care and 2016 was just a marketing stunt.

On the odd times they go an ok price the limits are dreadful and they have no phone number to call to ask a limit extension so you have to go live chat which just pass it on. Then they never tell you they've increased the limit you just have to keep trying. Normally the event passes with no reply.

The website looks like something from 1998 as well. Has to be the poker side keeping them afloat it can't be the sportsbook.

Opened an account and lost, then won money. They have now frozen my account. I have provided passport and bank details but no response.

Looking to withdraw winnings, but nobosy to contact to discuss.

Will be raising a compliant if the account is not unlocked within 72 hours.

Shocking website to deal with, customers service staff are unhelpful and rude taking days to get any kind of response out of them, and suspended my account after my first compaint. Deposited £100 and wouldn't let me have any of it back until potentially gambling all of it first which is not made clear when depositing. In my opinion deposit with a reputable and well known company, William Hill Ladbrokes, both of these tend to have better odds and offers, and customer service staff have been very helpful on every occasion. Depositing with this company is the worst mistake I've made!

Opened on line account and Betstars quickly requested i make deposit. Paid in £500 which was easily accepted by them, and tried to place bet but amount refused and they requested driving licence number. I gave this and sent but it was not accepted and they requested scanned licence or passport which i did but they did not accept this then froze account and e-mailed to say they were "investigating".I would need to send several documents to now apply for an account and it all seemed to much hassle so i requested my money back.
Several days and no contact from them,i sent many e-mails to various departments to ensure someone would reply but no contact from them,. I became increasing concerned over my large deposit. Eventually they e-mailed saying be patient. Then again more days went by and i sent more e-mails and no reply so i sent registered letter to their head office but they did not answer.I got so concerned i contacted IBIS and the next day miraculously my money was returned.It took 3 weeks and lots of hassle,worry and writing to get my money returned.
This company is the most shocking one i have EVER dealt with in my life,You complain to complaints,customer service and they ignore you most of the time.
Deal with this company at your own risk!!!

I deposited money, placed a bet which won.
They immediately locked my account and refused to explain why.
They then asked for ID, I provided a copy of my driving license and bank statement but they wanted a picture of me with my driving license. I tried to produce this but was unable to get one clear enough for their satisfaction, I have an old phone so the picture quality is not great but they offer no alternative for ID.
I have put in a complaint at resolver.com and will update in future.
People should avoid them like the plague.
UPDATE. Read This If Owed Money..
After raising a complaint using resolver.com and placing the above review my account was reinstated so I was able to withdraw my money. I would urge anyone with funds they can't access to do the same.

They were fine until recently. Deposited £20 then had strange emails, one saying something about a withdrawal request for £2 that I hadn't made and one in Russian!
Tried to log in and account has been frozen. Emailed them again and had more Russian replies. Going to write off my £20 and never use them again!
