Impossible to book a class
Impossible to book a class - you join a waiting list and get emails at hours like 4.00 am stating there is a place.
Been trying for the Aqua aerobics ( women only ) for past 2 weeks . Trying to book as soon as it’s published but no joy!!!!

Thanks for your review.
We are sad to hear that you have been experiencing difficulty booking.
Our classes are very popular and members do receive priority booking, so you can book 7 days in advance from 10pm whilst non-members only get access 5 days in advance.
When a class is full, you can put yourself on a waiting list and when someone cancels their booking an automated email is sent informing customers that a space is available and you can then book on.
We also advise to keep an eye on the session throughout the week if you don't book onto the waiting list as people to tend to book on and then cancel as the week progresses.
We hope you are able to attend a class soon!

Kingshall Leisure centre sauna is…
Kingshall Leisure centre sauna is absolutely unhygienic. It is not clean between session and the whole wall and floor is black. I had to request a clean and it was not clean properly. The gym equipment rusty and limited. I have to started my membership due to the convenience but I might cancel this membership. The management seems as if they have no care the duty of care of the customer.

Good facilities, app needs an upgrade
The facilities are good and the instructors are also qualified. It’s nice to have a pool and the gym and classes and even badminton with one membership.
Only 2 downsides. 1, you can’t get notifications from the app for cancelled bookings for example, or notification that a spot is available when you are on the waitlist, it’s all via email.
2, the different activities or classes don’t have a description so you don’t really know what to expect. What’s the difference between swim for fitness and aqua aerobics? Badminton is actually you booking a court so you better come with your partner. You have to get off the waiting list to be able to book when a spot gets available. It would be nice to know what to expect.
Other than that, I’ve been enjoying being active close to home.

Regarding your two points, all communications are conducted through email as this method enables us to reach members universally and ensures all emails are received. Swim for fitness is a swim session and is booked under our Swim session option and Aqua Aerobics is a fitness class and this is booked under our fitness classes.
Swim for Fitness sessions are designed for members to swim laps independently without an instructor, whereas Aqua Aerobics is an instructor-led class.

swimming at Kings Hall
Went swimming at Kings Hall - on this occasion only 1 double size lane was available for the general public to swim - the rest of the pool was closed off for swimming lessons - after 20 minutes the double size lane was reduced to a single sized lane (while 8 people were trying to "swim for fitness in it") - the staff looked embarrassed to reduce the lane - but from the conversations they were having they had no choice - and because they were embarrassed they did not explain the situation to the swimmers or give instructions as to which side of the lane the public was now supposed to use - surely an unacceptable situation - especially as the half of he rest of the pool that was closed of for childrens swimming lessons was not using the deep end of the pool - which could have been used for fitness swimming in circuits - very poor planning and bad treatment of paying customers who have not paid extra for swimming lessons (but have still paid!) was told by member of staff to address the issue with reception - but reception only had one very busy person on it - date of experience 04/05/2024 10;50am-11;50 am session which was prebooked via the better app

What great fitness classes at Kings hall with Michelle, Helen and Jorge, just to name but a few Nicki , Wendy, are great too. Sorry I'm sure all the other staff are great too, just not had time to go to their classes.

Terrible pool timetable
The pool at King’s Hall in Hackney is hardly open! Each week there’s a few slots at inconvenient times in the day and often multiple days with no options at all. The facilities and pool already are not great, but this just makes it impossible to use. Definitely going to cancel.

We are sad to hear that you have not been enjoying using Kings Hall. As the centre is so popular we sometimes get busy and we also accommodate swimming lessons, club and private bookings so occasionally the schedule may be limited.
As a member you have access to 7 days advance bookings, whereas non-members can only book 5 days in advance.
We also have other fantastic centres which aren't that far, where you might find more availability.

I enjoyed my exercise there, the staff too are helpful, friendly, busy place, which is good.
Good equipment, any equipment not working I see note on it,
They should introduce wet wipes instead of spraying and tissues.

The spray that is provided in the Gym is an antibacterial spray to clean down the equipment after use. We do not currently provide wipes but I can pass on your comments for the attention of the centre manager so he can see if this is something they can provide in the future.

You had toddler swim classes posted at kings…
You had toddler swim classes posted at kings hall leisure centre and allowed me to book my daughter in. On arrival we were checked in but then the instructor said she had been trying to get the class removed from the website because the class was actually for older children with special needs. Management told me to call another pool to switch into that class. Very unhelpful considering it was their issue in offering a class incorrectly and took 4 weeks of payment for that class in advance. No help in switching was offered and the instructor told me she’s been asking management to remove the class for 6 months.
