I was approached by a member of staff and falsely accused of having alterations with another swimmer. He was thrashing around and changing direction randomly . As a 63 yr old recovering from major leg surgery l was expecting the pool to be somewhat safer

The joy of swimming at London Fields…
I've been swimming at London Fields Lido for over 10 years, since I came to live in Hackney, and it's one of the reasons I'll never leave Hackney! It's wonderful to be able to swim outside all year round, in warm clean water. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and responsive to any concerns. It's a great community!

London Fields Lido- Literally the best pool I have ever…
Literally the best pool I have ever been to. The London fields lido is an oasis, a true gem in the heart of Hackney. Once you swim here you will never want to swim indoors again. Being in the open air feeling connected to the seasons is so uplifting. The pool and showers are pristine and all the staff are amazing. There is a real lido community and you will feel completely refreshed and renewed after a swim here. Bring sliders for the walk to the pool, especially in the winter. Have a nice hot coffee or tea afterwards at the Lido cafe. I’ve been swimming at this pool since it opened nearly twenty years ago and can honestly say it has enriched my life in more ways that I can recount in this small space. The best best BEST!! Cannot recommend highly enough!

Best pool and best place in Hackney!
I absolutely love London Fields Lido. It’s part of everyday life in Hackney and I don’t know what I’d do without it! The staff are super friendly and all the facilities are great!

London Fields Lido
London Fields Lido is my happy sanctuary. To have the opportunity to swim in an outdoor (albeit heated) pool all year round keeps me sane. The pool gleams, the changing rooms are clean (unless someone has 'missed' the no outdoor shoe notice and left mud everywhere!), the staff a delight and the atmosphere one of calm serenity (except in a hot summer!). A big thank you to all for making it so.

Respectful, helpful, and clean
London Fields Lido, in local to train stations, local buses, near 2 local markets you have Broadway Market and Roman Road Market. It is within walking distance from London Fields overground, Hackney Downs and Hackney Central. You have local shops, such as Primark, Tk Max, Iceland, JD Sports, Morning Lane Tesco, Hackney Empire all within about 8-10 depending on your speed of walking. All staff at London Fields Lido are respectful, and helpful.

the best part of my week!
The London fields lido is quickly becoming my favourite part of the week. The staff are welcoming and friendly, the pool is always well maintained and at a good termperature… I still can’t believe how reasonably priced a membership is! Beyond this, the sense of community that exists is so lovely - everyone is so friendly and is a great place to find like-minded people.

This is my favourite pool in London
This is my favourite pool in London. Considerate and helpful staff, lovely location, good community feel.
Cons: the pool was has gone downhill since Covid. Not because of the facilities themselves but because they now let in way too many people in summer. You cannot actually swim in summer, only tread water, and that frustrates swimmers leading to tension. Perhaps the staff could more actively move slower swimmers to slow lanes, ban breastroke/ backstroke in the fast lane, etc like they do at the Olympic Pool.
Also, the staff try so hard to keep the place clean but still people keep wearing outdoor shoes into the changing rooms and not showering before swims so that the pool is full of cream! This issue is not specific to the Lido though, and I really appreciate they at least try to keep the place clean. Perhaps more signage and more explaining why keeping the place clean matters?
