The London fields lido is quickly becoming my favourite part of the week. The staff are welcoming and friendly, the pool is always well maintained and at a good termperature… I still can’t believe how reasonably priced a membership is! Beyond this, the sense of community that exists is so lovely - everyone is so friendly and is a great place to find like-minded people.

This is my favourite pool in London. Considerate and helpful staff, lovely location, good community feel.
Cons: the pool was has gone downhill since Covid. Not because of the facilities themselves but because they now let in way too many people in summer. You cannot actually swim in summer, only tread water, and that frustrates swimmers leading to tension. Perhaps the staff could more actively move slower swimmers to slow lanes, ban breastroke/ backstroke in the fast lane, etc like they do at the Olympic Pool.
Also, the staff try so hard to keep the place clean but still people keep wearing outdoor shoes into the changing rooms and not showering before swims so that the pool is full of cream! This issue is not specific to the Lido though, and I really appreciate they at least try to keep the place clean. Perhaps more signage and more explaining why keeping the place clean matters?

We love swimming at the lido. We feel spoilt having such a beautiful and well cared for pool so close. The staff keep it clean and safe. Their vigilance regarding maintenance is evident on every visit. Staff present as a strong and collaborative team who prioritise customer service and creating an inclusive and safe swimming community at the top of their priorities.

50m pools are incredibly rare: outside, and heated ones are practically non-existent. This historic Lido a greatly valued asset for the community. Water quality is sparkling, facilities are very well maintained. The staff appear to take great care and pride in running the lido, and always welcoming.

What a joy it is to be able to swim outside all year in a heated pool. There are plenty of showers inside and out, hanging hooks outside for towels while showing, lots of space to change, and lockers that return your coin or token. Everyone obeys the no shoe rule inside, and only the odd selfish person leaves their clothes in the changing cubicle, to 'bags it' on a busy day, but hay ho thats people.

I have been swimming at London Fields lido for over 15 years now. It is one of the main reasons I moved all the way from west London to Hackney. The staff are wonderful, the pool excellent, and the swimming there is heaven - especially in winter

Tucked away at the back of London Fields is a hidden gem, an oasis of peace and calm. It's hard to describe how an outdoor, 50m pool can be so thrilling an experience. But behind the walls is London Fields Lido – a treasure spot for every different type of swimmer to enjoy. Whether you're a complete beginner or a competent swimmer – the lido staff welcome everyone. Open all year round, swimmers arrive to swim and leave very happy they came.

I swim here regularly- and even when it’s busy, or cold or it’s raining, it’s always great: friendly staff, clean water and good facilities. Don’t know what I’d do without it. Indispensable!

Top staff, always friendly and welcoming, beautiful pool and options to change inside and outside. Hairdryers, showers..everything you need for a great swim plus the community spirit! Lovely in summer but even better in winter.

One of my favourite places in the whole world. Great customer service, excellent facilities and open 6.30-9. As a member of HAC I love my Thursday morning 6.30 swim. Thank you everyone.

Huge, clean outdoor pool with the best staff! Shoutout to the teachers who run the fitness classes and have improved my swimming massively. Has a great community feel to the place too, with ever changing art, bake sales, and friendly swimmers.

London Fields Lido is my happy place- I love swimming outside whatever the weather, the staff are lovely, the water is at the right temperature and the other swimmers are always friendly. Love this place ❤️

This is just a fabulous facility and we’re so lucky to have it in the borough. I’ve been a regular since it opened, and I particularly love swimming on a cold but sunny winter day. But the heated water means it’s bearable in all weathers. I’ve always found the staff friendly and helpful. Only complaint - it’s too popular in summer! Time limits need to be better enforced but also Hackney needs another lido!

Love, love, love London Fields Lido. Believe me, I’ve been to lots of lidos, and this one is the crème de la crème. The staff are fantastic. From the cheery and helpful people on the desk in the entrance hall to the lifeguards, who when not keeping us safe in the water are keeping the changing areas -indoors and out- so clean. The staff enforce the ‘No outdoor shoes’ rule which also keeps everywhere clean. The staff and management all work together as a team (you regularly see the management working alongside the regular staff poolside). The staff show a real sense of pride in their work. They don’t just clean once a day but all through the day. And when needed they respond quickly to any specific problems. There is also a strong sense of community with staff and pool users joining forces to raise money for local charities. Art work is regularly displayed in the entrance hall. There is a book swap and space for food bank donations.
The pool water is always clear and the pool is kept at a temperature of about 23-24 degrees. It is a glorious place. Thank you to all who work so hard at London Fields to make it such a joy to visit.
