Change of instructors
The teachers are great and
My daughter is enjoying her lessons, however I feel that changing the teachers every week is a little confusing for the children. Children need continuity and it’s important they have a teacher who is aware of their abilities and their progress.

Changing rooms weren't clean
Changing rooms werent clean, one of the disability/family showers was out of order and 11 kids in one group, and not that much space in the pool

Been a long time since I have been in a gym. Manager put me in a good frame of mind . Place looks inviting with mixed age groups. Nice and clean and not over busy .

Better Gym lives up to its name. It really is a good place. The staff are always nice and helpful, the equipment is always kept clean and I'm glad to be member.

I found the gym well equipped with all machines in working order. The place is very clean, the changing room and bathroom facilities are very good and spotless. The staff are polite and very helpful.

Very Disappointed
I have 2 children who finished their Gold stage at Church Farm swimming (which is closed now). They joined Academy stage to improve their swimming at New Barnet Swimming. Too many students in just one class doing two lanes with ONE teacher who was taking with a parent for half of the lesson. The children were doing whatever they want like doing half lanes, summersault, doing all other movements without the correct one which really discouraged my children. Even tough the teacher saw all these she ignored everything. Not strict at all where as in Church Farm the teachers were very strict & very disciplined to teach the correct movements to students.

New Barnet leisure centre is very clean…
New Barnet leisure centre is very clean and the people are friendly . I have only managed to get into two classes as the booking system is rather odd but I think Im getting the hang of it now . The two classes I have been to were very good and the staff are professional . Its a nice quicky place .

Excellent - I recommend
The New Barnet Lesiure centre is excellent.
It has a very large pool. There is a also a smaller for young toddlers too.
You can book swimming sessions online through their Better app which works well. The "Pay as you Go" deal is very good. You can pay through the app with debit/credit card.
The changing rooms are large and clean. Well done to the cleaners. There are lots of lockers. The lockers require only one £1 coin to put away your belongings. Then you have a little key you can strap onto your wrist like a watch until your swimming session is finished. This is very handy.
The water in the swimming pool is quite cold. It would be better if it was a little warmer.
Professional and friendly staff. Well done to the team. I commend them.
Overall, the place is clean.
There is an eating area where you can order food, sit and eat. There are sandwiches, snacks, and drinks. There is something called an "Angle Cafe" which sells these bubble teas. It is very nice. Available in a variety of juicy flavours. Perfect place to sit and drink drink tea or a latte after a nice workout. There is a park outside which is lovely. It has a great view.
The only downside is that I have to pay to park my car.
I don't like that. So I knocked off one star. I have to use a car to get here because it's too far away from where I live in order to walk to here. This is because all the other pools in my area are bad.

There is also library here. You can read before or after some exercise. They have a selection of books which is okay for a small library. Unfortunately, it has very short opening hours which is quite bad. Opens at 4pm only to close at 7pm on a Thursday. They need to get some staff here. For me this is not a problem because I am not a regular here. I only come here for a swim. I had a quick browse and found some nice books I never heard of.
Finally, as a side note: There is a gym but I haven't used it. Memberships cost £54 per month which is way to expensive for me. The £35 off peak membership is no use to anyone who has a full time job. They need to either change their hours or prices. At least this is something for them to consider.
