Overall it’s a decent gym. Fair size and varied equipment. Not a bad price for the gym and pool combined usage. Adult users all seem polite and well mannered with the equipment but the kids that are allowed in to get off the streets till 5:30pm are really annoying unfortunately. I don’t want to be negative at all but they are the only negative and a big one. Really disruptive at times, noisy and loitering around equipment in large groups messing about. I get the reason behind them being allowed in and it’s probably a minority but I feel they need better supervision and need to be shown how to use the equipment better.

All staff very welcoming and the premises are so clean.
I totally enjoy watching the squirrels out the back of the gym in the little garden, makes me smile and takes the pain away lol.

The gym in St Austell shuts the male changing rooms between 1630 and 1730hrs daily.
This forces me to use the swimming changing rooms and is degrading as this is not a process females have to follow.

Staff are always very friendly, pool is a good temperature (on the cooler side 👍🏻) and the showers hot 😀
The changing rooms could do with a freshen up, but I fully understand that in the current environment that isn’t so easy to fund for a charitable organisation.
All good, I use the pool 2 to 3 times a week now and I’m starting to feel the benefit !

Great customer service, glad they retain some human to human interaction on reception. Good selection of classes and the gym is good. Only thing is it would be good if they had a gym only membership.

Its with a heavy heart that l write this review , as the staff are always friendly and professional .
Sadly ,the condition and cleanliness of the Club is disappointing and falls well below the standard l would expect .
The Gym floor on my visit didn't look as if it had been hoovered or brushed , gym equipment is nearly always dirty .
The changing room at wet area of swimming pool is so dirty , this could be because of heavy usage but it needs to be monitored .
Children need to be supervised as one young boy aged around 13/14 yrs old pushed my changing room door open deliberately as l was getting undressed . to go to pool . l spoke to him but he was cheeky to me .
The poolside shower and tiles at the entrance to the pool are in need of repair ?
In the Yoga class the fire alarm was set off twice but no announcements was made to explain what was expected of the instructor or the members ? We didn't know whether to stay or leave ?
l do love using this gym and l hope these issues can be addressed please ?

Gates don’t work, or atleast I don’t think they do. Since signing up to the gym I have not once scanned anything or booked it anything. Just walk straight though. Dated equipment, small too.
Unsure if I will renew

Great place. Excellent monthly price (price for gym, swim and sessions cheaper than most monthly gym sessions elsewhere), staff super friendly and helpful. All ages, sizes and types of people in gym so not intimidated! Love it.

Often unable to log into app. Bookings not showing in app. My first swimming lesson was cancelled but no one contacted me so I attended. Card payment taken and direct debit.

At Austell leisure centre is the nicest of all of the group I have been too. The staff are really friendly the centre is so clean, especially the gym and dry changing room . Swimming pool is also nice , although lane swimming can be very busy and fast swimmers tend or go in the slow lane also, and that is stressful for slower swimmers as we can feel that we are in the way , so it’s better to pick a quieter time to swim , not between 4pm and 6pm for sure , as less pool area for swimming. Other wise all is really nice .

I signed up today at my local centre St Austell and I could not have been made to feel more at ease and welcomed by the lovely receptionist there.
Not only did she answer all my questions and concerns, she went above and beyond to take away any anxiety that I had about joining somewhere new, plus she talked me through the most suitable sessions, days and times for my current needs.
I have now come away feeling very positive and excited, looking forward to starting my new journey.

Unfortunately, we didn’t have the best experience here.
I’m not one to usually complain but when it involves my little girl being upset and the teacher being obnoxious and lacking in empathy to myself and my daughter then they definitely shouldn’t be working with young children.
It’s a shame as before she had the best time till it all changed…
Some of the staff are fab and cannot fault them however this experience has really knocked back her confidence and I think I will be cancelling the membership because not only did she not know anyone and was left to fend for herself, she just got told ‘ she just won’t do anything and not willing to do anything’ the teacher had no patience at all, I was watching through the glass window and she wasn’t even being comforted!! Which is baffling when she’s one of the youngest in her class, not only has she been at school all day so naturally will be tired and not full of energy, the teacher was honestly the worst. Her arrogance and attitude needs to be improved massively, if anyone is wishing to book in swimming lessons then I would avoid, the classes are overly booked and a mix of ages, whereas before it was designed for her age.
Thank goodness for other teachers that work there and care about others, I spoke to another lady who was lovely and spoke about my concerns.
Fair to say that this other teacher in the pool lacked empathy, patience and compassion for her job.
When I mentioned about that I had booked the lesson because of a teacher my daughter knows that was meant to be doing the class all this teacher could do was shrug as if not my problem.
Really unimpressed with the service this was given.

We have been using thsi centre for over 18 months without an issue. Last week the management decided to lane the whole pool (always had a slow, medium and fast lane for the serious swimmers). This has meant that people who do breath stroke have a job passing each other, even touching each other on occasions. This is going to cause serious problems and with several of us complaining last week of the set up, we were told they will revert to the old layout. This morning they have gone back to this ridiculous layout, forcing people to swim within inches of each other. WHY?
