Great versatile fitness centre
I've recently joined the centre and love it! The early morning classes really suit my family life and set me up for the day perfectly. I've struggled with long-term injuries but all classes are adaptable which has been great for my journey back to fitness. The gym is really well equipped, clean and airy and at induction I was given a fantastic personalised plan which has really helped the rehab of my shoulder. The whole team of staff are friendly, fun and happy to help at any time. I was nervous about changing gyms but really feel at home at the centre

Nothing negative to say!
Have had a membership at the centre for over 2.5 years and overall don’t have a negative word to say.. the membership is also great value for money, especially when doing the classes.
My daughter also throughly enjoys her swimming lessons at the centre and enjoys the soft play regularly. We’ve never experienced an issue with either.
Staff are always polite, friendly, welcoming and especially helpful when dealing with any queries I’ve ever had requiring memberships/booking.
Thank you for such a positive experience and an opportunity to make new friendships whilst looking after your mind/body 😊

Very welcoming and helpful.
The young lady at reception (Tash) was extremely impressive and very helpful getting my account set up. I’m not someone who like doing things online and she took all the stress out of it and sorted it for me.
The centre itself is spotlessly clean and the gym well equipped and spacious.

Friendly and supportive experience with knowledgeable instructors. For someone who has shied away from fitness clubs for years, this team go out of their way to make the experience a positive one.

Stopping Swimming Lessons
We have recently decided to stop my child’s swimming lessons for a few reasons.
1. Since he first started the lanes have been changed and the space for swimmers to learn is much smaller, however the amount of children in the area is the same.
2. Viewing is very difficult, to be able to see the children swim is very challenging due to lots of people and people sitting beyond their own children’s lessons. Where my child’s group swims means that from standing it is very difficult to see them and particularly when there are lots of people.
3. Some assessments are not reviewed regularly
4. In some lessons he is stood waiting for his turn to swim a length, he gets extremely cold waiting and in a half hour lesson may only be in the pool for a few minutes.
Having said these points the teachers are friendly and helpful.

Fabulous centre
Fabulous centre - great selection of classes led by friendly and encouraging instructors. Lots of fun and a real sense of inclusivity - there is a lot of kindness shown to members by both the centre staff and fellow members. No one feels judged, everyone is comfortable doing what is right for them. I’m not a natural gym bunny but I hop up here at least 4 times a week and enjoy all the different classes on offer.

Polkyth has been around for a very long time and council/many companies have tried to run it only to run it into the ground, that all changed since Better took over they invested heavily to bring the standards up to where it should be. The staff there are brilliant they make the centre and the classes, there is a bit of banter in classes which adds to the enjoyment and the want to work hard.
It’s also great to see how hands on manager Steve is, the man doesn’t sit still he’s the face of the centre not hiding in the office but actively running classes and dealing with customers.
This does however mean that classes do get fulled quickly and with the size of the town the centre could really do with being larger, hopefully someone from Better is realising this and can think of some ideas for the future.
My grand daughter also comes to swimming lessons and loves it.
I really wanted to put 4 stars of the review for this basis but I think for the staff it has to be 5.

Absolutely fantastic instructors, real genuine people who want to only see you succeed. Fantastic range of classes working all of your muscles or go in the well stocked gym and join others on a pathway the same as yourself. If none of these suits then get in the pool for a dip.
