Made a Great Decision
I was a member of Better Gyms for many years, but after they reopened after the Covid lockdown, Better Gyms prices had skyrocketed and their customer services left a lot to be desired, so I left them and went to PureGym.
However, I had always missed their Pilates classes, which literally got me back together, after my cycling accident.
It was Better Gyms Pilates classes that finally convinced me to cancel my PureGym membership and return to Better Gyms and I must admit, I have not been disappointed.

Poor service, zero communication
I am extremely frustrated with the service at this Greenwich Centre. As an existing customer trying to coordinate specific services, I’ve been stuck in a never-ending loop of "passing the buck." The landline staff tells me to contact the centre, and the centre tells me to email a specific address that apparently no one checks, as I’ve received zero replies. It is incredibly unprofessional to go silent on a customer once you have their business. I’m currently being ignored by every channel of communication available, and I would strongly caution others to reconsider using this centre if you expect any kind of follow-through or professional accountability.

Small, but great centre
Staff are always helpful here, and the equipment always works. It’s not one of the larger centres, but it’s extremely well kept up and has everything I need (apart from spa facilities). A good range of classes.

Unfair cancellation policy
I had my two children signed up for swimming lessons at BetterGym Greenwich. When the time comes to cancel they made me pay do 68 days despite 20 days notice period. When I complain they hid behind T&C. For one of my children they went into the pool twice and I had to cancel again paying for 3 months of service I never used. I encouraged the to change their cancellation policy to treat customers fairly but sadly my suggestion was dismissed. Very disappointed with customer service and their lack of care for someone who had been with them for years. I would not recommend better gyms as they are only decent when things are ok.

We currently operate a 20-day cancellation, which is listed in our Terms and Conditions, which was agreed to during your registration process.
We advise our customers to read through our T&Cs before agreeing to them, so they're aware of our process.
During the registration process, you also pay a Month In Hand fee, which is a non-refundable payment which extends your cancellation date by a month when you wish to cancel.
This essentially means that you're paying for your first month and your last month, provided you've processed your cancellation correctly, when you sign up.
We also operate a 14-day cooling-off period, where you could have requested the cancellation of your little one's lessons and a refund if you knew that he wasn't going to return.
We're saddened to hear about the disappointment this process has caused.
