My favourite place. Starting at reception a young man Djon his presence brings good energy to the front of house always helping members sort out dramas understands the the neurodiverse. Djon always has positive energy towards the members how can’t we keep coming back. But on the other hand those changing rooms and showers are filthy and disgusting i take my own antibacterial wipes to clean. And the pool has been freezing over the last few months that my joints can’t handle. If only the everyone was like D’jon and cared enough about members wellbeing.

Last Wednesday HITT
Last Wednesday, I attended a HIT Class, and it was an amazing experience! The exercises were super dynamic and perfectly matched with the Latin music that the instructor, Carlos, chose. I loved how the rhythm of the music helped keep my cardio going without being too intense, which was perfect for me since I can’t lift heavy weights.
Additionally, I’d like to praise the gym manager, who has done an excellent job improving the environment with new equipment. I highly recommend the space and the rit class for anyone looking for an energetic and effective workout experience!

I have been a member for 8+ years. Angelique has always been a pleasure - extremely helpful. Rosemary, Sharon & Aurora have the best classes. Their classes are more than worth braving the cold and the rain for. They are all incredibly motivating, fun and dedicated to ensuring we’re using the right technique/ making accommodations. The classes are better than Active Lambeth!

I’ve got a 10 year old autistic child
I’ve got a 10 year old autistic child. Decided to start doing private swimming lessons for him. We were promptly introduced to Nick who is one of the swimming teachers. 6 months plus in, my son’s ability and confidence has grown beyond expectations! The service generally is good. Clean Changing rooms, friendly staff and etc. However, personally Nick has definitely played a major role in the value this gym offers! He’s always professional, always on time, super patient and passionate! He has genuinely made a positive impact not only on my son’s swimming ability but also in his personal life too. Due to this, this leisure centre easily deserves a 5 star rating!

Fun classes and great staff
I am member of Better Vauxhall for quite a few months now and have got nothing to say but positive. I am pretty active here, doing yoga, swimming and a few exercise classes like core conditioning. Let's start with Alfi, very helpful chappy at the reception. If you have any questions/issues - he will sort those in no time! Especially, if you ask in a nice way. On the fitness side of things I am doing classes with Angelique and Shain, both are very helpful and motivating. If you have been hesitating to join, do it now and you won't regret!

I joined Better Vauxhall mainly for the pool and gym facilities, however after trying Volkan’s Zumba class I never looked back have been addicted since! Volkan is a wonderful person and his classes are always joyful no matter what and have really helped fall in love with moving and dancing again! I couldn’t recommend it more!

No more the same
The gym is nice but it used to be cleaner few months ago. Since the kids have joined the female changing room is a dirty mess! That is unpolite tiwards the staff and the other users of the gym. There are more people joining the activities it should be provided more tidying up in turns. I have never seen same people cleaning! Only sitting at the reception. I do not see any staff doing the cleaning, not to mention again as often as they were before.
What would be useful also is having at least one member of the staff doing a round in the gym to see if we, the costumers need to ask something about the machine or advising about exercising. That's a pity all the good things have been dismissed. I hope they could be back to them.

The facilities are nice and clean
The facilities are nice and clean. The staff is very friendly and always willing to help.
The only problem I have is that the sauna and steam room are always full and that people don't respect the signs the staff has posted on the door announcing silence for optimal relaxation. I would like the sauna hours to be extended so there aren't too many people in at once. I would also like them to repair the broken wood inside the sauna so the cold doesn't get in and the heat inside is adequate.

Love coming to Vauxhall Leisure Centre for a swim! The pool is always clean and the perfect temperature and the changing rooms are always spotless. The staff here are super friendly and helpful, from the reception team to the lifeguards they make the whole experience even better. Definitely one of the best places to swim in London!

A swimmer experience…
I’m a regular swimmer before covid times until today and I really enjoy the pool, steam room and sauna facilities.
Reception team is professional and friendly. Sofas by the reception area are a good idea, it’s only missing a water fountain to refill bottles. However, cleaning standards in the last 6 months is below average, very bad! Changing room cubicles are dirty and messy and sometimes they smell pee after kids swimming lessons. Very bad housekeeping, not cleaning maintenance at all!!! Showers are disgusting, too.
Also, lifeguards during patrol and on duty they have earbuds and listening music from their mobiles, specifically the Spanish speaking ones. Unprofessional 100%! Not feeling safe at all! Unbelievable!

It’s super clean it’s spotless. The staff are helpful, I’ve been coming there since the first opened 2019 or whatever i after lockdown we had to change by the pool walk round the pool to shower and come out the back way which was a bit of a nightmare, but Hard work staff all I do is shower and into the pool it’s the same depth all the way along, which is good if you put your foot down it only I’ve been banned until January 2027 Reson unknown? No discussion no meeting so now have to go to zBrixton a 75yr old Penshioner with Sever Asthma & COPD most disillusioned & depressed most unexpected on Crutches

Why has Better in Vauxhall upped the age for Seniors to 66yrs when nearly every other London Better has remained at 55 years?

A really good leisure centre
A really good local leisure centre. Great pool, gym and classes. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Atmosphere is great. Volkan is an absolutely brilliant instructor in classes - motivating, welcoming, funny and kind. Top recommendation for this place and the people there.
