Ruta was amazing she showed in a very efficient manner the gym facilities and also helped to familiarise with all gym equipment. Definitely I can feel that staff in the Wavelenghts centre is genuinely friendly and ready to help and this make the gym and swim experience a special one 😉

I really love this company, been using the facility for around a year now and it’s helped me greatly with my mental and physical health. Really lovely staff members that keep their relations with their customers professional but also friendly and caring. Very helpful and informative staff members.

I have been going to Aqua aerobics at Wavelengths for many years. I go on Mondays and Fridays to the classes run by Rhian and Topaz. Their teaching is superb, the fifty minutes of continuous movement is a very effective work out, and the music that accompanies it is joyful and energising.
It’s a wonderful class. My mobility is hugely improved and maintained because of it. Thank you Rhian and Tooaz, and thank you to Better for providing and supporting this class.

Great location, very near my home. The facilities are good and just had my first adult swimming lesson (so I can finally learn to swim properly). The instructor was very patient and quite switched on, considering that every single person in the group had different needs. Will definitely return for more classes. I've been to the gym there as well and it has everything you need.

I've been to many better gyms and Wavelength can definitely do with an up grade. For the price you pay there should be more weightlifting equipment. There are many machines missing. Smith machines, preacher curl machine, fly/ rear delt machine, lower back machines, hack squat and more are all missing. You'll have to be creative with the dumbells to do the exercises in different varieties. However, there's only one set of each with the dumbells so there could be a long wait for them (sometimes)
I go to this gym only because it's the closest one to where I work and I go there on my lunch breaks which is really convenient for me.

My doctor advised me to go to the gym for health reasons and told me he would put me through the GP referral process for a cheaper price, the last company Fusion were really good and charged £20 a month but when this company took over they instantly raised the price to £25 which is sickening really considering most people on GP referral are OAPs. After inheriting my bank details they realised they made a mistake in the amount of money they were charging me and after a year decided to charge me £48 a month without telling me and then I had to wait 6 months to get my money back after a lot of arguing, then after that I was advised by there staff that I had to wait 6 months to renew my GP referral status and I had to go back to my doctor which I did, now over the last 2 years my doctor has referred me 3 times and I've not been contacted by Better once, when I did speak to someone at Better they said I got turned down because I didn't turn up enough which is hilarious as I wonder how many subscriptions they cancel for people not turning up enough or is their problem just with the customers on GP referral. The fact that Wavelengths is owned by Lewisham council and a building paid for by council tax payers, who are Better to turn down lewisham residents who were sent there by their doctors, sounds to me they don't want GPs sending them clients paying a cheaper price.

I would like to give a special mention to Topaz. During a Barre class she listened to my concern about floor work, due to arthritis in my knees. She provided a chair, double yoga mats and a personal item of clothing to roll under my neck. Topaz showed me how to place myself onto the mat and coached and supported and encouraged me throughout the execises. I found the whole experience emotional and liberating. Thank you Topaz, you are amazing.

The gym has only two benches and a limited selection of dumbbells and machines, which often makes it difficult to complete a proper workout, especially during busy hours.
Additionally, the changing rooms are often not well maintained and appear dirty. The swimming pool floor also tends to have quite a bit of dirt, and sometimes the water looks murky. It’s also worth noting that not everyone is wearing swimming caps — usually only those in the fast lanes — which may contribute to the overall cleanliness issue.
Another point I’d like to raise is about the Friday evening women-only policy. While it's great to promote inclusion and safe spaces, true inclusion should consider all genders. It's quite frustrating to see the gym completely empty — sometimes with just one woman using the facilities — while men are not allowed to enter or work out. This seems counterproductive and exclusionary, especially when there’s clearly available space that could be shared respectfully.
Considering the monthly payment is almost £49, the current standard of services, equipment, and cleanliness feels far below expectations. For this price, a much better experience should be offered.
I hope this feedback is helpful and can contribute to some meaningful improvements for all members.

I find that staff and instructors are very friendly, there is a good selection of classes and the membership cost is very reasonable but the cleanliness of changing rooms and sauna is very poor. There is dirt on the walls, where clients have splashed products inside cubicles you can see drips and murk that has not been cleaned for weeks, it feels very unhygienic. The sauna doors are also very dirty, it feels like cleaning staff only have time to clean the floors.

The customer service was fantastic in helping me find swimming slots for my little one. I also really like the swimming instructor who teaches my daughter—she is very friendly, and I appreciate her teaching style. I love it!

I never went to a gym before and always say that exercise should be free. However, after much deliberation and noticing changes in my body, I decided to give the fitness classes a go. I've been going for 8mths now to mainly LBT and Zumba with Topaz, Rhian and Angella (Sunday) and I've never looked back! There is a real community at Wavelengths almost like the community feeling you get living in Deptford. The teachers, Topaz, Rhian and Angella are all brilliant, always encouraging and pushing everyone to do their best. Thank you ladies, you're the best!

Been going to the body conditioning class taught by Topaz for a few months and it’s really great! Amazing teacher, very thoughtful and helpful. Wanted to add that Topaz spotted something in my posture which no GP has noticed which meant I can now get it sorted out which will really benefit my mobility! What a result!

Had asked for a month of membership as was travelling but was tricked into signing up for a couple of months, now I will pay for membership when I am not around.
The customer service agents says they can't do anything, the reception no longer owns up to it. Very poor service.

Rhian and Topaz are the reason I have stayed loyal to this gym for ten years. I've joined so many gyms in the past and never really enjoyed it. As long as they are teaching, I will keep coming! They are so passionate about what they do. They really care about each and every one, taking into account the diversity of the members as well as the age ranges. Everyone is included and made to feel special. My spirits are always lifted and I'm keeping fit too. I just love the Wavelengths community, and so happy to be a part of it

Have loved joining the gym. I need the group classes to stay involved and a sense of community. Topaz and Rhian have been instrumental as instructors in my journey. They included me and made me feel welcome when I first started(as they do with all newbie’s), encouraged me to be there no matter what level of fitness I am currently in(I go up and down because life is busy)! No matter what-when I turn up I am welcomed into a family of people working towards better happiness levels and fitness ❤️
