Do NOT buy a car from here I bought car…
Do NOT buy a car from here I bought car back in December in five weeks the gear box went that got fixed no problem, 7 months later the coolant flange has gone the warranty team are telling me this is not under warranty and is the wear and tear of the car when if I drove the car with no coolant in the engine would blow up so they would rather pay thousands than a few hundred quid to get it fixed. A week of stress over 29 phone calls later still no joys and still waiting on the manager to get back to me regarding the car getting fixed. I would keep well away from this place after the back experience I have had, false advertising poor customer service and a lot of stress you will end up doing all the running about not worth it at all trust me when I say KEEP AWAY and always ask in detail what’s included in the warranty side of it because they will sting you

AVOID, it is not worth the risk
I bought the vehicle on 15th of February a fault appeared straight away with the boot randomly opening. This progressed into the boot not opening at all unless using the key. I informed Big Motoring World (Big Assist) straight away and the issue is still not fixed 5 months after. It has been diagnosed but communication between Big Assist and the garage is shockingly bad. Big Assist have not responded to the issue and appear to hoping that I sort it myself. The garage they allocated is over 1 hour away and they have endless issues in getting the part but it feels like they are just fobbing us off. I went today (they confirmed they had the part the other week) to only be told that they have returned the part and this has happened again. If Big Assist would use any garage or pay for the repair then it would be a completely different review. Oddly the first garage they allocated the repair rejected the job which makes me think that was the first red flag.
I would not go back to big motoring world apart from to reject and return the sale under the Consumer Trading 2015.
I'm glad I didn't get the extra warranty as it's quite clearly a scam.
By the way the repair is simple and I could it myself if I knew the part number. One of the issues with the stop start I fixed myself by using youtube. Some of the review factors in the terrible garage but BMC should be taking control of the issue but they just don't care. Because i had to put my son down to grab the keys to be able to use the fob to open the boot, my little boy almost got away from me and run onto the road. I obviously ditch the car to stop my son but it shouldn't have happened in the first place as the boot should manually unlock.
UPDATE - After almost 5 months the repair has now been completed. The delays seemed to be due to a single member of staff at the 3rd party garage being disorganised and useless. We ended up visiting the 3rd party garage 3 times (not including the initial visit for diagnostics).
I have increased the review by 1 star purely because Charlotte was helping and probably getting the same staff member we were. Big Assist need to take a Bigger lead in their aftersales and warranty issues and not leave it up to the customer. I suspect that if Big Assist were constantly hounding the garage like we were then they would have got to the good members of staff at the 3rd party garage. Hopefully, the fault is now fixed but no real way to tell until I'm driving in rainy weather. However the fault was obvious because the switch had a hole in it where water was getting in.

Shocking customer service - June 2026
Purchased a car on Wednesday 24th June with the view to taking it away that night. Transferred the money for the vehicle and then was told I couldn’t tax it so had to go to the post office the following day. Sales advisor filled out the V62 and I changed the insurance on my car on 25th June as was part exchanging. I then went to the post office the following day and they were unable to tax the vehicle. I tried to call Big Motoring World Leeds but was on hold for 30 mins then kicked to the back of the queue so I had no choice but to take the afternoon off work and drive through to speak in person. The handover colleague completed the form again as said this was done incorrectly and I taxed it at a local post office before being told there was a fault with my new car. I waited 3 hours before it was explained that I couldn’t take it so I had to change all the insurance again. After explaining the situation to the manager his response was ‘we are not in the business to compensate people’ and ‘we sell hundreds of cars a day’ so clearly didn’t care about my experience and the fact I had to take the afternoon off work to try and sort this out after taking my money the previous night to still end up with no vehicle. He did say I would be a priority on the Friday morning and he would call me first thing. On Friday I heard nothing again and was forced to chase again for an update on the car, being on hold for 1 hour before being told nobody was available to speak to me and they would call back. Unsurprisingly there was no return call and no update on Saturday and Sunday. It was left to my Dad to chase an update on Monday and be told the car is ready before collecting on Tuesday. A goodwill offer of £50 towards insurance and a tank of petrol is no compensation for a shocking experience and I would not recommend anyone use this company. To make matters worse just 1 day after driving away it was also found that I had a slow puncture. I should have been excited after spending a significant amount of money on a new vehicle but the whole experience was really poor.

Kia Sportage Purchase at Leeds
I recently purchased a KIA Sportage GT Line from the Leeds branch. According to their website, the car was advertised as having front cameras and heated seats, among other features. I specifically asked the salesperson and was assured these features were included, which was also reflected in the price.
However, when I brought the car home, I discovered these features were missing. In the future, I will insist on seeing all advertised features before finalising a purchase and will not rely solely on assurances.
When I contacted the branch to address the issue, they denied responsibility, claiming they do not provide the specifications and that the features were not listed, despite my having saved the original advertisement as evidence. Even when shown this, they still refused to acknowledge the problem.
Based on my experience, I will not be using their services again and cannot recommend them. I suggest looking elsewhere.

My 17 year old son bought a car from…
My 17 year old son bought a car from Leeds Branch, great he loved it. We were talked into buying Big Assist Warranty for 2 years which I though great at least he has trouble free motoring for 2 years we were told it covers everything, except wear and tear, unfortunately he had to make a claim shortly afterwards but they paid out and everything was great back on the road. Now my son is in the position 9 month later and has bought a newer and better car and we asked for the warranty which has 15 months to run to be transferred to the new owner. We were told yes thats fine at a £35 cost which was also fine. But then oh no we cant transfer because you had a claim, now forgive me if I am wrong surely it the car that is covered and not my son. If my son had have kept the car surely the warranty would have continued for the further 15 months.

Awful experierence over 4 days
Recently purchased a vehicle from your dealership for £13,400. My part-exchange vehicle was formally valued and offered by your team at £3,400. Upon informing your sales team that I would be utilizing my own independent finance rather than your in-house lender, my part-exchange valuation was immediately and punitively reduced to £2,600. Your staff explicitly stated that the drop was due to the change in finance, and i didnt buy the incredibly inflated warranty (always buy seperate online, its cheaper).
Clear breach in FCA guidelines, this wasnt treating me fairly. In fact, punishing me because i didnt go with their provider who is more expensive so they lost out on commission.
Go to MotorPoint, Trade Centre, Arnold Clark... don't waste your time. Constantly left me in store for hours on end by myself with unneccessary delay.
EDIT BASED ON REPLY. THIS WAS ABSOLUTELY NOT THE CASE, THEY INSPECTED MY VEHICLE IN PERSON AND GAVE ME THE FIGURE OF 3400. BECAUSE I USED MY OWN FINANCE COMPANY, AND THEY DIDNT GET COMMISSION THEY ADMITTED TO LOWERING IT TO 2600.
THEY CHARGE HIGHER APR FOR THEIR FINANCE COMPANY, AND THEIR ADD ONS SELL FOR 1/3RD OF THE PRICE SEPERATELY. BULLIES AND FRAUDSTERS

AVOID BIG MOTORING WORLD: £19.5K CAR SOLD WITH HIDDEN P2002 DPF FA
purchased a Land Rover Discovery Sport from Big Motoring World Leeds under agreement BIG0079082. Within less than a month of ownership, the vehicle suffered a major, progressive emissions framework failure. Both Savile Road Garage and the RAC have formally scanned the vehicle and diagnosed fault code P2002, confirming the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) has failed and requires a complete replacement.Under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, the selling dealer is strictly and legally responsible for resolving inherent defects discovered within the first 30 days at zero cost to the consumer. However, Big Motoring World and their warranty provider Assurant are causing significant delays with an 8-week investigation and refusing to cover full diagnostic fee shortfalls at Green Oval Garage. This is completely unacceptable customer service for an outright cash buyer. This matter has been formally escalated to the Executive Office of Chairman Laurence Vaughan. I have all official independent diagnostic reports ready for the Financial Ombudsman Service and Trading Standards.

Car not as described and promised valeting never done.
Bought my car on 30th May 2026, travelling to Leeds from the North of Scotland. I had paid to reserve the car, so they knew I was coming. On arrival the car was brought round and the first thing I noticed was the overpowering smell of dog, I nearly gagged (and I own a dog). The sales person said not to worry as they hadn't valeted the car yet and he would ensure it was cleaned properly and the seats shampooed. This did not happen. He even had the audacity to pretend to drive it round to the valet department and made me wait over an hour while they pretended to valet it. It took me hours when I got home to clean it, as it was filthy, the glove box hasn't even been emptied. The boot shelf was broken and there were no car mats, which he promised would be put in the boot. The sales person could not have cared less about the sale, he assumed I was going to buy anyway as I had travelled so far. I was told there was a second key and SD card but they would be sent on from head office. I had to phone and email several times (the Leeds office did not once answer) and I eventually got the key and SD card yesterday.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS...
AVOID AT ALL COSTS...
Never again!! Wouldn't touch them with a barge pole after today.
I arrived at a 12pm for a pre-booked test drive with my wife and children, aged 2 and 4.
This is the only time we had available to test drive a car. "UN-NAMED STAFF" (Ib**y)(Because big motoring world complained at this review because I included his name!!) at Leeds Big Motoring World shook my hand at 15:00 (3 hours after we arrived) and said congratulations on your new vehicle. We settled at £249pcm on a PCP deal for a Polestar 2, with 69k miles on the clock. After waiting around for an hour, after being told my car was getting valeted for me to drive away today, I was told,
"sorry we can only do this on HP, not PCP because the milage is too high... "
This was after he told me everything was sorted shook my hand and said "congratulations on your new car mate" after a painfully slow 4 hours of waiting about because they hadn't even got the car out, or sorted anything out.... To come away with absolutely F all.
I already know the standard reply is going to be "its black horse finance, not us" and that "Ib**y" was only giving you figures as illustration purposes only" which is all b**ocks... Why the hell would someone tell you you've bought the car, shake your hand, only to tell you "Ahh we can't do it now sorry"
Absolutely pi$$ poor customer service, just left waiting about start to finish.
HIGHLY RECCOMEND YOU AVOID AND LOOK ELSEWHERE.... LOOK ON TRUSTPILOT, IT TELLS YOU ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ...

AWFUL COMPANY WITH NO INTEREST ONCE…
AWFUL COMPANY WITH NO INTEREST ONCE THEY SELL YIU THE CAR.
25 June 2026
Following my original review, Big Motoring World attempted to have it removed by claiming it was defamatory. Trustpilot investigated the complaint and decided it was not defamatory, restoring my review.
Ironically, I only received an apology after they had tried to silence my account of what happened, rather than when I was dealing with months of poor communication, inconvenience and unnecessary expense.
I stand by my experience because it is true. Looking through the reviews, it is clear that many other customers report similar issues. I hope Big Motoring World focuses more on improving customer service than trying to remove genuine customer feedback.

A very long process
A very long process and you are pressured into buying warranty when you do not need it.
Jack the finance man was helpful because the warranty on the finance company agreement was wrong it was for an ev and had to be changed to a petrol car.
This made it a long process.
