Clowns work here
Bought extra warranty after being told that they do in house repairs and that I would get a courtesy car whilst car being repaired. (Thats s big lie). I rang up they said id have to ring warranty company, I did they said I had no warranty and they wouldn't ring up these clowns to find out, that I had to do it. I was back and forth with calls for 3 days, then I found out they'd gave me the wrong number for the warranty company. Don't trust these clowns. You have to do all the running about. Only 1 person in after sales office can do the sending of documents they say, so what happens if that person is sick, on dinner, or holidays. Do the calls get logged till that person is back in the office. As I said they are clowns dont trust them

Awful
Lovely sales experience, nice chap sold us a 3 year old BMW, sold us extended 3 year warranty. Within weeks started to have issues with the car, 2 years in has become progressively worse. Extended warranty not worth the paper its written on. Staff/ Management at the Leeds site blatantly refuse to offer assistance and state "yes we know our after sales is awful". Terrible customer service, unless you are about to make a purchase. Really wish I hadn't entered in to a finance agreement with big motoring world, once they have made a sale all the nicities stop, they couldn't care less.

Avoid at all cost
From the salesman on the desk eating sweets and looking disgruntled at having to sell me a car to the poor attitude when i asked for the car to independently checked and would they cover any repair costs.
DO NOT use this company they focus on a 200 point check, if its so thorough the car will fly through an independent inspection. As soon as i asked for this was told I need to see the manager, then came back with the worst attitude I've encountered.
The staff need to remember I'm the customer and they are there to sell a service, not to be obstructive, rude and ill mannered.
If could award a - star I would, at all cost.

Absolutely appalling experience at Big…
UPDATE THEY STILL HAVE MY MONEY
Nearly £21k
They’ve had it since yesterday
They promised they would refund it today and I would be contacted.
This has not happened
They have ignored all my requests for an update & confirmation it’s been processed
WHERE IS MY MONEY???
I Will keep updating my review until it’s been received
I have contracted your head office like you asked and you’ve told me you’re investigating my complaint. But why are you keeping my money ? You should not have taken it in the first place
I am now left without a car and unable to purchase another until you refund my money !!!!
Absolutely appalling experience at Big Motoring World Leeds.
We visited on Sunday, test drove a vehicle and agreed to purchase it. We made it clear we would be paying for the car in full and only financing the warranty and tyre/alloy package. A £500 deposit was taken and we were told not to worry about completing the paperwork that day because they were busy. We were specifically told to return on Tuesday evening, collect the car and complete the paperwork then. We were assured it would be quick and straightforward.
We arrived at around 7.30pm at the time the sales guy had booked for us and had to bring our young son with us. We did express our concern at the time about it being a school night and were reassured by him that it would simply be a quick document signing and vehicle handover.
What followed was an absolute shambles.
We arrived, checked in with reception and were told to take a seat as somebody would be with us shortly.
Instead, we were left sitting for well over an hour with no updates, no communication and no customer service whatsoever. On Sunday they could not do enough for us. On collection night, nobody offered a drink, nobody checked on us and nobody even seemed aware we were there.
After waiting and becoming increasingly frustrated, we had to approach reception ourselves not once but twice to ask what was happening. Eventually, we were so fed up that we said if nobody came to see us within ten minutes, we were leaving.
When somebody finally took us into the finance office, things got even worse.
The paperwork had been set up incorrectly. We were initially asked to pay the wrong amount because the warranty and bumper package had been incorrectly added to the vehicle payment that we were paying for outright. We then had to wait again while they corrected their mistake.
Once the paperwork had finally been amended, we transferred the full payment for the vehicle directly from our bank account. We also made the first payment towards the warranty package.
Only after taking our money did the member of staff leave to collect the keys and paperwork.
He then returned and told us we could not have the car.
The dealership did not have the correct documentation required to complete the handover and tax the vehicle.
They invited us in to collect a car that was not ready to be collected. They kept us waiting for over an hour. They processed the paperwork incorrectly. They took full payment for the vehicle. Then, only after our money had left our bank account, they discovered they did not have the documents needed to release the car.
We were later told by their own staff that we should never have been asked to come in that evening in the first place and that the issue arose because the paperwork had not been properly dealt with beforehand.
This was a complete failure of process from start to finish.
The sales manager then came over to try and save the deal. His proposed resolution? A tank of petrol.
After wasting our entire evening, keeping our son out late on a school night, taking our money for a car they could not provide and leaving us with no vehicle, they genuinely thought a tank of fuel was adequate compensation.
We cancelled the purchase immediately.
To make matters even worse, we were promised several emails confirming the refund process and explaining what had gone wrong. Due to poor signal on my phone inside the building, I could not confirm receipt of the emails at the time, but I was assured they had been sent.
We are now home and still have absolutely nothing in writing.
Big Motoring World currently have our money. We have no car, no refund, no confirmation emails and no written explanation.
I have never experienced such a chaotic, disorganised and unprofessional vehicle purchase process. The fact that a dealership can take full payment for a vehicle before confirming it has the correct documentation to legally hand it over is astonishing.
Avoid.

I purchased a Vauxhall Mokka Electric…
I purchased a Vauxhall Mokka Electric from Big Motoring World in October 2025. Unfortunately, the vehicle has since developed a serious fault and is now completely non-operational.
The car cannot communicate with diagnostic equipment, which indicates a potentially major electronic or control system failure. The 12V battery has been tested and confirmed to be functioning correctly, ruling out a simple battery issue.
What is particularly concerning is that this appears to be a significant defect rather than a problem caused by normal wear and tear. Given the nature of the fault and the age of the vehicle, I believe there may be an inherent manufacturing or pre-existing defect involved.
While the warranty may have expired, consumers are still protected under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 where goods are not of satisfactory quality, durable, or fit for purpose. I have raised this matter accordingly and am seeking a fair resolution.
This experience has been extremely disappointing, especially for a relatively modern electric vehicle.
Their response: As your purchase is now beyond the initial six-month period and there is no extended warranty in place, we are unfortunately not obligated to provide assistance with the current concerns.
In line with the Consumer Rights Act, it will now be onus on yourself to prove these concerns were present at the point of inception, this will need to be via an independent inception for an unbiased opinion from a company such as ACE.
I appreciate that this may be disappointing. While we always strive to support our customers where possible, after careful consideration, we are unable to offer assistance on this occasion.

Overall a very positive experience
I had a great experience at Big Motoring World Leeds. There were no high pressure sales and I was free to look at and test drive any cars I wished. Sid was extremely helpful as was Matthew who sorted the finance and car tax out for me.
I got a fantastic deal on a low mileage vehicle and they threw in a 3 year extended warranty at a very reasonable price. I was slightly cautious of Big Motoring World given some of their other TrustPilot reviews, but I have to say, they don’t reflect my experience at all and the extra warranty gave me more peace of mind.
Just a few minor criticisms - even if you’ve booked in an appointment or test drive in advance, be prepared to wait around a lot. For some reason there was lots of back and forth to an office with glass walls that had a lot of people stood around talking in it. Could’ve been legit but it looked very odd and was a tad frustrating, it resulted it me waiting around a fair bit, so knocked a star off for that. The team were very open and honest that they earn commission from the finance and additional warranties. Some of these are genuinely helpful and I opted for the extended warranty which was very reasonable, but don’t be afraid to say no to the extras if you don’t want them.
Also the test drive was only about 10 minutes long around a roundabout and back. Could’ve been a bit longer to get more of a feel for the car.
Overall, very happy with the service I received and the car that I got. I would recommend Big Motoring World and would happily return in the future.

I rarely leave negative reviews
I rarely leave negative reviews, but the way I was treated at Big Motoring World deserves to be highlighted.
I visited with the intention of buying a car and spent over an hour at the dealership. I test drove the vehicle, discussed the optional extras, breakdown cover and warranty packages, and agreed to purchase the car at the full asking price. There was no haggling and no finance application needed as I was ready to pay in full.
After all of that, a sales manager called Paul approached me and informed me that the car had been reserved online around 20 minutes earlier and was no longer available. This was despite the fact that I had already been in the dealership for over an hour and had agreed to buy the vehicle before he came over.
What made the situation even worse was Paul's attitude. At no point did he apologise for what had happened. Not once. There was no acknowledgment of the time that had been wasted, no attempt to make things right, and no effort to show any understanding of why I was frustrated.
When I challenged the situation and questioned how a car could be reserved while I was actively purchasing it, I was simply told to leave.
The whole experience was unprofessional from start to finish. Spending over an hour going through the sales process only to be told the car is no longer available is bad enough, but the complete lack of apology and poor customer service was what really stood out.
Based on this experience I would not recommend Big Motoring World and certainly would not consider returning.

Absolutely appalling experience with…
Absolutely appalling experience with Big Motoring World.
We visited to purchase a car and, after spending over an hour at the dealership, test driving the vehicle, discussing warranty options, breakdown cover and other extras, we agreed to buy the car at the full asking price and pay in full.
After we had effectively agreed the purchase, a sales manager called Paul came over and informed us that the car had been reserved online approximately 20 minutes earlier and was therefore no longer available. This was despite the fact that we had already been at the dealership, viewing and agreeing to purchase the vehicle, well before this supposed reservation was made.
When we questioned how this could happen and expressed our frustration, Paul's response was simply to ask us to leave the premises rather than try to resolve the situation or offer any reasonable explanation.
The whole experience felt extremely unprofessional and left us feeling that our custom was not valued. Given that we were paying outright rather than taking finance, we cannot help but wonder whether this played a part in how we were treated.
We left feeling completely disappointed after wasting a significant amount of time and would think very carefully before dealing with Big Motoring World again.

Great staff, shocking experience
This is literally a review of the experience, not the people, the people were great.
We arrived at 11am for a BOOKED APPOINTMENT to pay for, and collect a car. The appointment didn't start until 1110, after we had sat and watched at least 10 people, and this is only our opinion, 'wandering around not doing a great deal'. We saw the nice gentleman who had helped us to order the car and have it transferred from another branch, but we were assigned a different advisor for this appointment. I wasn't having that as lovely Lee had done so much previously I didn't want him to lose his commission.
Then started the waiting! Waiting for the car to be brought in to the building, I would have quite happily viewed it outside! Then a wait for a set of trade plates to come back so we could test drive the car. Then a wait for a managers I pad to complete the paperwork. Then a wait because a manager came to do a 'hard sell' on the warranty we had declined. This REALLY REALLY annoyed us! Once we said no that should have been the end of it. Then a wait for a member of the finance team to take the payment. Then a wait again for a set of trade plates so the advisor could take us toma physical post office to tax the car as the branch didn't have the log book, so it couldn't be done online. Then a wait for someone to literally hand us the keys. After 10 minutes of waiting the final time I took matters in to my own hands and grabbed the next person I saw and practically demanded the keys so we could leave.
I know there are processes to follow, but 3 hours to.collect and pay for a car is LUDICROUS!!
