Right, here’s a review for you:
“I purchased a car from Big motoring World Peterborough on Monday, June 8th. Immediately upon collection, I discovered the air conditioning wasn’t working. The dealership identified a gas leak and promised to repair it within two days, asking me to return on Wednesday. Unfortunately, the car wasn’t ready, and I had no choice but to leave without it. Over the following days, I received minimal communication from their complaints department despite multiple calls and emails—they only assured me they’d logged my complaint and would get back to me. This caused significant inconvenience, particularly as I’d purchased fifty-five day driver insurance I couldn’t use. I eventually collected the car on Thursday at my own expense, travelling from London. Although I was assured the leak had been properly fixed and checks were completed, the AC stopped working again by Saturday. It appears the dealership simply refilled the gas rather than actually repairing the underlying leak. When I contacted customer support, I was told to contact the warranty team instead. I would strongly advise potential buyers to thoroughly inspect every aspect of any vehicle before purchase and be extremely cautious with this dealership, as resolving issues after purchase requires extensive hassle with emails!!! Absolutely unreliable company.

Bought a car from this firm and whilst the buying process was fine, the after sales service was awful, I viewed and bought a car the same day and only issue was that they would send me the spare key which wasn’t on site.
A month later and I have been chasing incessantly. You cannot contact Peterborough directly to speak to them, you have to go through a calls centre who are varying degrees of helpful and who seemingly struggle to get information from this centre themselves. There is no clear escalation process, complaints amount to nothing and they do not respond in a timely fashion. This week I did finally have a helpful lady called Olivia who did communicate with me, for which I give credit to her, but honestly if you’re buying a car you can get from any dealership avoid this outfit- the hassle isn’t worth it and totally ruins the joy of buying a new car.
In response to your reply - my order number was 390579. There is nothing more infuriating than a firm that has terrible after sales service yet responds immediately to a poor Trustpilot review. It did not take a few weeks for the spare key to come it was over a month and no one responded to me - the communication is appalling. So no, I won’t be sending you further details to your awful generic inbox I just advise others who don’t like that kind of hassle to avoid your business at all costs.

The car I reserved and viewed was in poor condition for a 4 year old car. The glove compartment didn't shut properly, the plastic shield over the dashboard control panel was cracked and there were chips in the paintwork that were down to the metal just inside the rear passenger door. I asked if all of these issues would be fixed and was told no.
On a plus, my deposit for reserving the car was refunded immediately

We have just driven our new car out of Big Motoring World in Peterborough and had a few niggles, hence leaving a review.
Upon inspection the car was quite dirty - more so in the engine bay with lots of sandy dust. The salesman (Karim) said it would be valeted but it wasn’t.
The sales process did involve encouraging us to buy things we don’t need, standard sales for many dealerships.
There was some urgency to get us to take the car away, and this part annoys me because we were told that they are able to take a car with private plates after we put them in retention, and before we receive the new V5. This turned out to be untrue and we had to pay a £200 fee for them to hold our old car, refundable upon sending the new V5. Not very honest!
The handover team is a different team to sales, although they are in the same building, and they have to deal with the lies, which they do by apologising.
I hope nothing goes wrong with the car!

Absolutely appalling experience with Big Motoring World at the Peterborough branch this afternoon. The sales staff attitude was disgusting from start to finish. They were rude, dismissive, and very unhelpful when I asked about part exchanging my car. The salesman wanted to take my keys but refused to let me accompany him to my car while he valued it. He then said he wouldn’t do business with me if he couldn’t inspect the car alone, which sounded very off and made me feel extremely uncomfortable. Customer service clearly means nothing to them. Buying a car should be a positive experience, but they give car sales people a bad name. I would not recommend this company.

10 April 2026.
That was the day I wrote the first complaint to Big Motoring World.
Since then, silence. If anything happens to me because of this vehicle or the unresolved issues I have repeatedly reported, Big Motoring World should be held fully responsible. Their refusal to act has turned every drive into a constant fear, like my name has already been written into a Death Note and I am just waiting for the inevitable.
Every warning light feels like another name written in the Death Note. Every journey feels like a gamble between reaching home safely… or becoming another ignored customer story.
The company promised support, but instead mastered the art of disappearing when problems begin. Stress, anxiety, endless chasing, and zero accountability — this has been the real driving experience.
My family no longer trusts this car.Honestly, neither do I.
If you buy from here, remember:the real horror starts after the payment clears.
1 star. Because Google won’t allow zero.

I recently purchased an MG4 Trophy from Big Motoring World in Peterborough and unfortunately my experience with their after-sales support has been very disappointing.
Within around two weeks of purchase, cracking appeared on the vegan leather driver’s seat. I obtained an assessment from a specialist upholstery repair company, who confirmed that the damage requires replacement of the entire seat panel at a cost of £225.
I contacted Big Motoring World in the hope of reaching a reasonable resolution, especially given how soon the issue appeared after purchase. However, they refused to contribute anything towards the repair, classifying the issue as “cosmetic wear and tear” despite the very short timeframe.
I fully understand that used cars may show signs of wear, but I do not think upholstery deteriorating to this extent within weeks of purchase reflects good quality or good customer care.
I also found the sales process quite pushy when it came to trying to sell their extended warranty products, which made the experience feel more focused on upselling than customer service.
The sales process itself was otherwise smooth, but based on my experience, I would advise buyers to inspect interior trim very carefully and not expect much flexibility or goodwill if issues arise shortly after purchase.

I decided to visit big motoring world Peterborough to buy a new car after my car was written off. The whole process from picking a vehicle to driving off was over 5 hours long.
There were niggling little things about the sales pitch, but they're inconsequential to the overall experience.
Sitting down with the sales rep, he went through the usual patter and tried to upsell. I decided to take out one of the sales packages after some bartering and a price was agreed. Low and behold when the agreement came out it was over £2/month more expensive per month. Someone from the sales/accounts office came out and said they couldn't really change it but we'd be compensated by receiving a GardX kit and GardX coating on all the interior, it just so happened that someone from the valet team was passing, so the office staff asked him to grab a kit and put it in my new vehicle.
I signed the paperwork and was on my merry way (this was a Saturday). On the Monday Night I got in the car and there was a smell in the car. It wasn't overpowering but it wasn't pleasant. A few days later, I needed to do a weekly shop, I opened the boot to put my shopping in the back and the smell hit me. The only thing in the boot at the time was the GardX kit. As I picked it up from the back of the boot I put my hand on the boot card/shelf (whatever you want to call it) and it was damp. The card on the particular model I have is a carpeted plastic & foam, it isn't absorbent. My natural assumption was that someone had opened something on the GardX kit and hadn't closed the lid properly as they put it back. The kit was dripping wet at the bottom, so I opened it, all of the seals were intact none of the bottles leaked when lightly squeezed, all of the bottles in the kit however were covered in condensation.
The only thing that happened between me checking the car over (and I had, had the boot card out, as the boot itself can be lowered) and me going into the back for shopping was the valet. As such, it would stand to reason that someone had put the GardX kit in a puddle when cleaning it, so I wrote to the after sales team. My response was essentially that it couldn't possibly have happened as it's not a complaint they've ever experienced and that the most likely issue was a problem with the boot seals and that I'd have to claim off of the warranty. I fully dispute this claim, as either side of the boot card it dips down into pockets, and seeing as water will always try to find the lowest level the pockets would have been wet, the parcel shelf was also bone dry. It just so happened that the same night that I received my response from after sales was also a night where we had monsoon rains in Northamptonshire, I've just checked the boot and it is bone dry, there is nothing on the parcel shelf.
While this isn't a complaint they've received before, I suppose there's always a first time for everything.

Karim was a lovely gentleman, he helped us choose the right car for our needs, gave us time to look at the car and a test drive. A few days later we went back and bought the car with a bit of haggling we was all happy. Thank you so much. Pleasant experience, staff were attentive but not pushy.

Firstly I am writing this having just taken delivery of my vehicle so it’s a review of the process and people. The chap who saw me through the process was Kieran at Peterborough. He did a thorough, professional job, wasn’t too pushy and was friendly and humorous. I was never going to be his best customer as I had no interest in the add ons that he was obliged to try and interest me in. However, he accepted this with grace. From there, the payment, paperwork and switch over was smooth. They prefer bank transfer but can take a card. Despite the heat everyone was cheerful and welcoming. Drinks were readily offered. Let’s hope the car now lives up to its promise.

Was very happy with the sale of the car, but the after sales was not what I was expecting when I had my issues with my new car. The long wait on the phone and then sent to northampton when I could have been sent to Kettering. Plus the issue with a missing wheel nut, I noticed on the 2nd day of having the car. I have just purchased a full set of locking wheel nuts. I have been reimbursed the money but thought it should have been dealt with a lot quicker.

The staff were polite and friendly. The test drive and purchase process were well organised and I didn’t feel pressured. After agreeing the purchase and part-exchange price the documentation and payment were processed promptly.
